I would like to say that two weeks ago your channel 'violated' my homepage by popping up randomly. But I am a simple human being.... I see something new and I click to watch it. A few weeks have past and now I am knees deep into this disc golf thing without ever having thrown a disc properly. All because of that charismatic bald head of yours! I even ordered my own startersset and tomorrow I will attempt to not suck at a course for the first time. Thanks a lot or tack!
@@johnshepherd6925 My sincere story is that I rolled into it by watching some regular golf challenges. Another sport that I have never played. But disc golf seemed to click with me. Also because my dog is a huge fan of throwing a frisbee around. So after watching some videos about techniques I tried them out and my dog was very happy to retrieve every attempt. And I had heared of it before but I did not know that the sport had a big following online and in my country (the netherlands). But there are more than a dozen courses within driving distance 👍
Seriously the most relatable and fun how to videos I have ever seen. Johnathan does such a great job editing and making these and everyone that has been on this channel has a great sense of humor while being educational and breaking it down for even the most beginner. Thanks for the videos and keep them coming!! Love the music, now I’m pumped and ready to play!
Hi ... five. So my wife and I are beginners with all this. We've been hearing people talking about the hyser flip, but we weren't sure just what it was or how to do it. Now we know both. Tracing the disc path with a bright lint on the screen was very helpful, as well as the really clear descriptions. Thanks for this.
Am I the only one who appreciates the metal disk golf segments? You'll never hear this on the PGA golf shot recap. This is why I love disc golf! It's metalhead approved. No collared shirts without METAL!
The day I finally threw a hyzerflip was a memorable one. Changed my game, for the better, and I haven't looked back. I hope the same for you Jonathan. Cheers.
We just got our first disc golf course where I live this summer! I didn't know anything about it when it showed up, I grabbed a 3 disc set to give it a try, and I am already hooked. These videos have been an amazing source of information, tips, tricks and good humor and have been instrumental in me developing my game. In the 6-8 weeks I have been playing and practicing I have gone from a +10 on our 9 holes to getting a personal best round of even par. Thanks for the help and the laughs!
Awesome as always. I'm pretty sure Jonathan has surpassed me in distance now. I'd kill for having a pro teach me!! You're a lucky guy my friend! Love your videos. Love the music you've added too! Was awesome when the music kicked in on Johannes' throw.
Your videos make it click for me. I saw this one last night.. practiced the mechanics then took it to the course today. I threw my River and Saint.. added 25-50 ft to my throws, just like that. Straight down tunnels and where I wanted them to go. Changes the whole way you look at the course. So tremendous thanks for speaking my brain language.
You guys crack me up. I always love when I see a new video from you because I know I'm in for some much needed laughing and enjoyment. I do also learn a lot from you as I'm new to disc golf. Thanks so much and keep um coming - would love to see longer videos if possible as I always wish there was more when your videos end. Looking forward to the next.
john, just wanna say that your doing your job amazingly in making a UA-cam channel that makes people wanna buy the latitude 64 disks and that you should get a raise
I'd love to come visit Skelleftea, but man! You guys are way up there! I'll bet people wonder where you came up with the name - Latitude 64. I see what you did there!
Just got into disc golf and didn't realize how much there is to it. Each video it seems to explain a point that I've been looking for, regardless of the video topic, because there are so many things that need to be put together. Thanks guys
I have a bolt, it has the rim width of a 13 speed, but i feel like it behaves like an 8 or 9 speed, if i don't limit myself quite a bit it turns over, even on a steep hyzer angle. And no, I don't have a super powerful arm, I generally don't throw any higher than 10 speeds, because I don't feel like I have the power to go any higher. My favorite disc is discmanias FD which is a 7 speed, but I can put way more power on that disc than the Bolt
@@pandawarriah haha, yeah. 70 - 80 meters is not bad after just a few months though! Isn't speed supposed to give you an indication of how much power you have to use, to get your disc to its potetial? I don't think casual players are supposed to be able to over-torque a 13 speed 😆 doesn't really matter all that much though, I use it like I use my 8 - 9 speeds anyway, but I don't agree with the speed rating on that thing
@@Nykken777 i feel exactly the same way. I bought a ballista and have a rive too and when I throw those they behave just as you would expect when not having enough power. Probably because of the -2 turn. Jade and a westside hatchet are my favorites for distance rn
@@pandawarriah I haven't tried either of those yet, but i have a tendency to go down in speed and hyzerflip understable discs, so the hatchet looks right up my alley. If you haven't tried discmanias FD yet, you're missing out, I would be completely useless without it, hard to come by these days though
I recently came back to disc golf after around 4 months away, and found I have much more power now. I don't know how, but I suspect I got a lot more objective, looking at my own form and corrected it. Before I had trouble getting any understable disc to flip, but now River is my absolute favourite for flips and right turns (RHBH throw). Great video, great disc!
A few things: I am essentially a beginner so it’s nice to have relatable perspective on the hyzer flip. The brief metal played in the middle of the video was appreciated. I have never purchased a latitude64 disc before but now I want to.
I appreciate the clarity, simple brilliance, self-depreciating humor and great questions here all signs of a master teacher. Jonathan's also a willing and dedicated student who's obviously a quick study. All that and humble--much like myself, of course.
I love your videos. Ya'll crack me up and make it fun to learn. I hope to play a round with you one day so you can tell me exactly how bad my throws are!!! LOL
Something i would love to see, and something that wold help me whenever i try convince non-players that ppl need a bag of discs is.... could we have Johannes throwing for example an understable disc on hyzer, anhyzer and flat.
