- Josh and his pit bull Max are an inseparable pair. They do everything together and are best friends. Max loves playing out in the backyard but Josh has been neglecting to fix a loose fence panel and the dog escapes. Soon the pit bull can’t find his way home and despite searching everywhere Josh fails to find his best friend. After a year Josh starts to accept that he’ll never truly know what happened to Max. He decides it’s time to adopt a new dog to help with the loneliness that he’s felt since Max’s disappearance. In the shelter he’s shocked to see a dog that looks just like his long-lost friend and when the pit bull locks eyes with the man he recognizes him and starts to cry. Just watch what happens next!

The fence only when you are there . Then inside the house 🏠 the fence a lot of problems people pass bother the dogs kids ! Some times they are horrible 😩 The police come in take the dog. He try to defend himself of bad ignorance cruel people .

It happened to me. I let our English Cocker Spaniel out of the house one morning so he could pee in our back yard. It was fenced. When I opened the back door to let him back inside the house . . . there was no dog. I went outside wearing only my pajamas and saw that the side yard gate was open. Panic. I ran through the house and went out the front door, looked up and down the street but no dog. No use to call for him because he was deaf. I went inside and dressed myself and quickly went down the street toward the open road and then saw a neighbor carrying my dog and laughing. "I saw you outside in your pajamas and guessed this was what you were looking for." A happy reunion. Yes, I locked the gate. Our dog loved every living creature and lived for 17 years.

I say that hoping people start a yearly wellness check once they add a fur baby to their family.
If a chip isn't found, the vet can easily implant one.
All of the dogs and other pets in our families are rescues or from shelters. Our latest fur family members were 3week old pups that the people were getting rid of because mama dog who was improperly fed was't able to feed them. I only went to get one dog, ended up getting 2. We knew we couldn't properly care for more but it was hard to walk away from the rest. At 3 weeks old they needed extra care that the mother takes care of until around 8 weeks. We got them chipped the day we nurtured them. When I renewed their rabies shot I had them checked for their chips and made sure the information was up to date. I had the chip checked because there have been cases (though it's rare) that the chip comes out, similar to how some body peircings on people fail.They are a month away from their fourth birthday, and I couldn't imagine loosing either of them.
I adopted a female dog from my local shelter 3/24/18 who like Max was scared and at the back of the kennel. Princess Minnie was a matted mess but I still took her in even though she was absolutely terrified. I called my groomer and explained the situation to her...she knew exactly which shelter dog I was talking about. After taking her to my vet to get her shots I dropped her off with my groomer. I came home smelling like dog and my other 2 didn't want anything to do with me even after I changed clothes. I went to run some errands and came back with the new dog when they groomer called and said she was ready to be picked up. As soon as I let her down onto the floor my other 2 were sniffing her and then they started chasing each other. Most of the time it takes new dogs decompression time to get used of their new home/surrounding but with Minnie it didn't take her long to get used of everything. She's spoiled rotten like my other 2 and the rest is history.

Even better is when you adopt one that has been severely abused and then the day comes and when they look in your eyes you realize they no longer remember or live as if the abuse ever happened.

I adopted a dog, 4 rescued fron the Street, and she died at 13 years ….in Febrary. And forgot how many dogs rescued and they live🥰 with their families. Plus 6 cats from street. And Other cats that lived with their famlies.

My 4TH rescue dog died in April. I am still grieving. Luckily, rescue 5 is still here and reasonably young!! Give not your heart to a dog to tear. But we do.

I’m so happy he finally found Max and then adopted a playmate as well! This story had me in tears, I have rescued dogs and cats that needed homes and also adopted an old horse that was going to be euthanized recently. His owner has health issues and the horse is very old but rather healthy for his age, and gentle to handle.❤

This has me crying! But they are happy tears. My husband and I have rescued many homeless and abandoned dogs over the years, including 2 lab puppies that had been abandoned at a boat dock. We already had 4 dogs, so we really didn't want another one, much less 2 more! But we both knew there was no way we could leave those 2 dogs to starve or die from illness. So, without even saying a word to discuss it, we each picked up a puppy and put them in our vehicle, and brought them home with us. When we took them to our vet the next morning, he said they were about 5 months old and were in such bad shape from hunger, severe internal parasite infections, and even parvo, that they wouldn't have survived more than another day or two. They had to stay at the vets for a week, but when we finally got to bring them back home, they seemed to know we were their forever home and were loved. Our other rescue dogs accepted them beautifully, so it worked out great. We lost one of them to cancer a year ago this month, but we were blessed to have had him for 10 years. We still have his sister as well as an elderly Chihuahua we adopted and a cat we rescued when she was 5 or 6 weeks old (just 6 days after we adopted the chi). So we're down to just 2 dogs and 1 cat, but at our ages (69 and 71) and with my husband battling cancer for the last 5 1/2 years, that's all we can manage now, except for the birds and squirrels we feed and water. Some squirrels have even learned to trust us enough to take the pecans right from our hands. But if a homeless or abandoned dog were to show up at our house, we would take it in and give it the same love and care that we have all of our others over the years, partly because we believe God has sent every one of them we've taken in to us to care for them.

Pit Bulls are Wonderful, just like ANY other dog. The only difference is that they have a "locking jaw".I had one and she was absolutely wonderful!

I always had a dog since childhood; they are true companions. I also know first hand what it's like to lose a dog, search through the kennels and never reconnect. It was a blessing and beautiful relief that Josh found Max. It was even more wonderful that Josh was able to give another dog a loving home. 🐾🐾💖💖
I will never ever not adopt from a shelter. So many lost souls needing a loving home. My heart aches for those who don’t find those homes. Spay and neuter your animals. So many unwanted animals killed every day. God help them.❤

We adopted our shelter dog about 10 years ago now, she's still with us and a wonderful shepard/pit mix. She's the sweetest and dhebwasnt our first rescue and probably won't be the last. Shelter dogs are the best.

I really enjoyed this story. I watched this because I love all animals, but I’m especially drawn to kittens and cats. All the cats I’ve had in my life have come from shelters except for the one I have now. I found this cat when she was a tiny baby, living with her sibling. We managed to get one kitten we named Penny, but the other kitten ran away. We never did find that one. I only hope she found a good home. Adoption is the best way to find your pet! ♥️♥️

I remember when my Yorky left my house. He was probably chasing me down the driveway and I didn’t realize I had left the garage door open. It was devastating when I came home and he wasn’t there. I looked everywhere. I spent the next week walking and looking, a miracle happened for me of a young woman who found my dog, so I love the stories I get how it feels when you lose your dog it’s heartbreaking
Have had my shelter dog for 10 years now. Couldn’t imagine my life without her. We take an hour walk together in the mts every morning before 8 am. Keeps me healthy and keeps my dog heathy and happy as well! I recommend adopting a shelter dog to make your life better and walking it every day will make you healthier as well.

Out of the loss and trauma rose a beautiful, heartfelt reunion + one. Josh went from being a lonely only to an expanded family. But that was not ALL. He decided to pay it forward by making it possible for many other shelter dogs to find good homes as well. Great story.

We got a street pack dog from watts California she was a 4yr old weiner dog poodle mix had her for 14 yrs and when she passed i didnt think i could go through loosing another one she was always with me and her loss was like loosing a child but one day someone we knew had a boston terrior puppy and the journey begins again. I believe dog teach us to be better people and we learn compassion for others from the unconditional love they show us.
