- Nothing prepared Steve and Allison for what they encountered while taking their morning walk. Thanks to the young couple's kindness, and supporters who donate to the Starfish Medical Fund, Friends of the Alameda Animal Shelter was able to turn Alfie's life around.
I fully believe that animal abuse should get capital punishment,a very painful one.

If I use in charge anyone who hurt an animal, in any way would be put in a room and tortured for rest of there life’s. Be zero tolerance on animal abuse. They would soon stop then.
Human courts can't serve sentence on murderers and paedophiles so is it down to diligent charity work.

This poor puppy is 6 months old but his face and eyes look like he has already lived a lifetime 😞
Gob bless you for taking care of this sweet German Shepherd. It takes a special kind of person to love and care for a working dog. They are not meant to be treated with cruelty, no animal is.

It appears that at some point in his earlier life, someone wired his muzzle shut. That's what the white lines on his snout look like to me. He must have been intentionally abused. Glad you could rescue him and bring him back to health.
That was my thought, exactly, as many black animals grow white hair out of skin that's been damaged.
All I ask is that innocent bystanders are well out of the way when the Karma Bus comes for whoever abused him and they gets theirs.
I'll never understand those who hurt and neglect animal's, like what happened to Alfie. People who can hurt innocent animal's, that takes an individual who's not fit for society. Bless lil Alfie and I know he'll be ok now that he's where he's loved. !
The scars on his muzzle are proof that his mouth was tied or taped shut. WHO DOES THAT KIND OF THING TO A SIX-MONTH OLD PUPPY? Find them and let the punishment fit the crime.
It is beyond me absolutely beyond me how someone can hurt an animal that is so innocent what could they do to people if it’s so easy to hurt an innocent animal???!
I know right but this is how the world is cold cruel and unjust to all animals it seems to be sadly be aimed towards. I'm glad these kind people had saved Alfy the poor thing has been through so much in such a short time. Oh how I wish that animal abuse doesn't exist but it does anyway sadly sad to say the least. But also not just the animals but even people too people also abuse their own children too and not just the animals themselves.

Wow, that poor poor puppy. It broke my heart to think how hungry that puppy must have been, for so long. Thank goodness Allie was found by the right people, helped by the right rescue, and adopted into a loving home. He is a beautiful dog. What kind of monster did that to him?! God bless those who helped him.

There are so many options open for people who can’t care for their pets: Humane Society, SPCA, small and large rescues. It takes a really disturbed individual to starve, abuse, neglect an animal as a choice. Laws need to be strengthened and enforced to protect these innocents.

What's it all about, Alfie?
Well he was horribly abused by his family it seems and they had apparently from what it looks like had wired his muzzle shut as a puppy at some point in his young life and was then dumped and left to die by his so called family that didn't want him anymore. This kind of thing is getting more and more common to see now these days unfortionently and its not just dogs like Alfie either but also horses and cats and sheep and donkey's too. And also birds and tigers and lions and all animals really actually.

The white hairs on the dog's muzzle are signs of injury. Looks like a muzzle taped shut.

@@SusanLynn656, know the meaning of white hair from equestrian sport: spurs roughly applied leave the same telltale marks. And rescued dogs from the Asian dog meat trade show the same traces.

Why people get animals if they do not have patience and time in the first place is beyond my understanding. Puppies and kittens are cute but they get you up in the night, they puke, have all sorts of potty training accidents and destroy things and you have to expect that as you would with a newborn and children. Older animals also need patience as they just like us have to go to the bathroom or especially for short haired dogs get cold and need covering up like our eleven year old dog who gets us up around 2:30 a.m. every night.
