With the word "best" being used 🙂, Toontrack's drummer plugins (EZDrummer, Superior Drummer) have to be mentioned just a bit above Addictive Drummer (I have all 3) because of the deeper editing abilities and better sampled drum sets.
Thank you for the suggestions (think I'll get Kontakt or Addictive Drums finally lol). Sorry I haven't left a comment on the channel in awhile but I'm glad to see you're doing better! 🙂
Excellent! We always load the free Tokyo Dawn plugins into every new DAW rig
I love Nova EQ
thanks for this video. you’ve been a great help to me. You explain things very well. 😊
Ozone 11 is a must-have for self mastering. It's definitely worth the purchase or upgrade. Great video!
Sick transition at the intro.
New subscriber, loving your videos. My go to is omnisphere, I use it on every track. Starting to use more of the plugins from komplete ultimate collectors edition also, i use the maschine expansions a lot even though I don’t actually use maschine. 🎹♥️
Great selection - I think these are likely 3 of my 5 most used plugins in Studio One. (Still on Ozone 10 though)
Another great video Mike. I have Kontakt 7 with quite a few different instrument libraries, but because they don't show up as individual plugins in Studio One's browser, I tend to forget what I've actually got!
Mike's videos rank up there with Joe Gilder as far as S1 goes
Hi Mike, I hope you are well too!
I use a LOT of Kontakt libraries, some from 3rd parties. Great stuff!
I use Ozone 10 standard. Thinking about upgrading to 11 Advanced.
Another favorite of mine is the new KeyAffair 4 package. Formerly known as Rhodes Affiar, it has some of the sounds I was hoping to find in the Rhodes 8 VST, plus a guitar and other goodies as we;;/
This year I am focusing on my musical education, obtaining packages on Mixing and Mastering and Piano playing. I'm building a better foundation rather than focusing on the 2nd floor. lol
I use Studio One as well. Love it. I have been enjoying the Sonible plugins a lot lately. I highly recommend Smart Eq3, because it has quite a bit more functionality than the stock EQ. Even if it didn't have the AI feature I'd still recommend it. It's just a solid workhorse EQ. Having the ability to choose Stereo, Mid, or Side per band is awesome. Also you can use the linear phase if you'd like. 👍
Maik! Habe a great Weekend
Thank you!
Bravo ! ✨👌🏼
I already use Addictive Drums and the Native Instruments stuff. I would also recommend that people check out some of the Arturia virtual keyboards. All sorts of cool retro synths and classic piano sounds.
anaolg lab 5
Not going to lie. I have several third party VST plugins.... But I am also quite satisfied with studio one's stock plugins, They can get the job done as well when used properly
I am a hobbyist composer and plugin collector. Here are some suggestions for 2023 Black Friday. Prices are in US$.
One: Native Instruments Komplete 14 Standard: $300 (regular $600). Includes some plugins Mike mentioned: Kontakt 7, Session Bassist - Prime Bass, and Ozone 10 Standard, Abbey Road 60's Drummer. In all, it includes 15 synthesizers, 37 sampled instrument, 9 percussion tools (drum machines, etc.), 19 effects (reverb, phaser, delay, distortion, etc.), and 38 expansion packs (samples, loops, presets, etc.).
Two: Musio. A terrific value for orchestral work. Either by subscription ($3 for 3 months, $10/mo after), or $300 for the Musio 1 perpetual license ($400 after Dec 31). Musio is a single plugin that accesses 70+ instrument collections with the ability to audition and download instruments individually. Most of the collections were adapted from the high quality Cinesamples library recordings, with some new ones added in 2023. Collections include standard orchestra, vocal/choirs, ethnic/traditional, pianos, specialized percussion, guitars, basses, pipe organ, drum machines, and synthesizers. I don't know if this would suffice for a professional composer, but to me, the demo recordings sound very realistic. Musio 1 includes all instruments released up to the end of 2023, plus all future updates to those instruments.
Three: Arturia's V Collection $300 (regular $600). Includes 33 amazing vintage synth emulations. Synths can also be purchased separately.
What do you think about Analog Lab V compared to the V Collection?
Analog Lab V is a great value too, at $99. You can play but not edit presets, and the set of presets is limited to around 2,000 if you don't own any Arturia synths, compared with around 10,000 if you own the V9 collection. Also, if you own any Arturia synths not included in the V collection, such as Pigments, the presets from those synths will also be playable in Analog Lab V.
Kontakt for sure. And right up there is Addictive Drums
I also use Ozone 11 Advanced. I took the subscription model so I have access to their other great plugins. For drums, I'm sold to Ez Drummer 3.
Hi Mike, this video is very interesting as usual on this channel. For reasons of budget and lack of experience, I'm considering buying Ozone element. However, I've just discovered Neutron element, and I was wondering if it does the same job as Ozone and which of the 2 plugins would be more suitable for a beginner like me? I thought you might be able to shed some light on this, thanks.
U-He’s Diva or Hive 2 are a steal right now. Nothing in S1 touches those for synths.
Hi Mike.
Your videos about Presonus Studio one are great.
For me they are the best ones that are available here on UA-cam.
Very instructive and pedagogically valuable.
I'm from Germany and my English is not very good.
I only understand every second or third word of what you say.
That's why I always turn on the German subtitles.
And then I understand you wonderfully.
With your videos I'm learning to use Studio one and my English is getting better too.
Thanks for that.
From Koblenz, where the Rhine and Moselle flow together.
Rock on
Andre.
This is pretty cool. I hope he sees this and responds. 🎉❤
@@ifelovemusic Yes I see it. Thank you very much.
Thanks, Mike. For those looking to get into synthesis without shelling out £, the free VITAL is a must. It is shockingly good for being free.
Hi Mike : can you do a full video on S1.6 from A-Z so to speak because allthough it has many similarities with Cakewalk some things are very different and since i learned cakewalk by watching your videos i thought it would be great if you do a video covering all the DAW i would appreciate it
Wider and Wider 2 by Infected Mushroom are great and FREE stereo separation VST's that I use all the time. Seem to do a better job than Studio One does. Simple and easy to use as well.
Hi Mike!
I use sonible's AI assisted plugins and get on much better with them than I did with Ozone. They're great for both mix and mastering and a bit cheaper than Izotope overall - especially if you don't need them all at once.
Studio one when vocaling vst plug-in own DAW will add to?
I really like AD but EZ Drummer 3 was a game changer for me.
How many cymbal articulations does Addictve Drums have? In other words can you hit the bell of any cymbal, or just the ride? Can you do the cymbal edge "bell chime" trick? Swells?
I think at the end of the day that's a very personal choice. I rather prefer to add some wavetables and additive synthesis stuff such Pigments, Serum or even some flavors by Analog Lab. Native Instruments has a superior sampling Instruments for sure, but sampling isn't something that S1 is actually lacking, nor audio effects neither but Synthesis such wavetables, additive or even physical modelling in instruments.
Hi Mike,
From your demo, Kontakt 7 look exactly what I've been looking for. I was just about to buy it when I thought I'd better check what virtual instuments are included. I could see any reference to the five plugins you mentioned. I contacted NI support and asked if they were included in the Kontakt 7 package. They said no. This was the list of included packages they gave me:
KONTAKT FACTORY LIBRARY 2: Nearly 900 instruments, over 39 GB of sounds
ANALOG DREAMS: 150 Sounds / 3.6 GB
ETHEREAL EARTH: 123 Sounds / 1.3 GB
HYBRID KEYS: 76 Sounds / 3.7 GB
RETRO MACHINES Mk2: 3.9 GB
Who's right? I don't want to buy this if it doesn't include the five named plugins from your video.
Keith
I find that analog lab V from Arturio is fine 6500+ instruments
agreed the SSD fre version isn't too shabby either
What if you make hip hop
A lot of folks dig nexus for hip hop. Personally I don’t think I produce any song nowadays without using omnisphere. There are a lot of things that come with komplete ultimate that will work for hip hop as well. 🎹♥️
Sad Never Mentioned Your Loved & mine IK Multimedia. Why Kontakt Exactly other than iZotope has been Partners with them for 2 years+. I already GOT a MEGA Pack Do NOT need Native Instruments ( leading down the Bitwig / MACHINE . . .or other DAW from another manufacturer) Gee. Glad your Well this Software Season 2023. Got most ALL Addictive Drums & iZotope , XO and ALL the Trimmings.
Joe Gilder gonna give a thunp down for this video
