That’s pretty crazy. It’s a lot of stuff to cram in there. You should be able to push much taller gearing with the additional power. What gears are you testing with?
@@jack-o-trades 3-50t I had it 1 to 1 but the old Novak outperformed the Amazon Hobbywing knock off and it went up in smoke lol I need to find another novak if I stay brushed with it and need a matching battery. This was a proof of concept.
That's insane guys!!! 🤣 Great bit of engineering, I like your style!! Just how the hell did you manage to squeeze it all in?!! Nothing wrong with that, your just being creative.... credit where its due!! Definitely like to see more of this for sure. Great video! 👌 👍 👍 👍
Have been toying with this idea for a while too. Excellent job in making it a reality! I would seriously consider switching those wheels/tyres out for a set of Contact foams though? They are so much more stable over 50mph with zero ballooning. Makes it far more stable and controlled! Really looking forward to any updates you share with this one!
That's a wild setup, boys. Very, very cool stuff. I liked the trigger warning, too! lol! -- Hey, where did you get the red rear hubs? I've been searching with no luck.
Love that setup, guys! Fair game in my opinion! The only question mark is the 2 batteries, technically you have 13 or 14 cells! I'd definitely like to see more of this!
That's why we made our official runs first. We didn't want to cause controversy. We will continue this and I will try to run it on 1 pack compared to 2.
@@TeamJunkYardDog No worries dude, I get it! I was just sayin, you know what some folks are like. This really is an incredible project all the same, can't wait to see the next run! 🤞😮
@TeamJunkYardDog dang. Yeah I found a 7t but it would be here in time. I've been swapping between my castle and novak Cyclone esc's with my 8t and 13t motors. I'll try a couple other things after the comp is over. I like the mental exercise of pushing the limits. It's awesome to see you doing that too.
Thank you! We wanted to try something pushing the boundries of the rules lol If I had matched motors as good as the one we used to run 69mph This would of been very fast!!
Very cool idea. 69's great. The rules said no buggy parts but nothing's said about how many motors you can have. Legal for sure. Fair? Think that's a question to ask to the ones who're around this point.
We finished our official run of 69 with a single motor. This setup was our hail mary design in case we needed to go really fast lol Now we know 2 motors works we need to fine tune it now.
Awesome. Absolutely fair game as far as I’m concerned. I thought about this once the new rlaaro came out. I would print the side skirts differently to hold the batteries down low on the side.
For sure! It would of been faster but the motors were cheap cans from Amazon and did not have much power. Also one esc dumped more juice than the other putting more load on 1 motor making it very hot. Need matched gear!
Twin motors and batteries are fine, the rules stated you just had to use NIMH batteries and brushed motors. Never said how many of them :) The one that annoys me is the people that are modifying and changing up the steering/ front end width or wheels and tyres which goes against the rules. Otherwise we would be able to run TT02B parts etc instead and change the wheelbases of the cars. A few more days to go give it everything :)
Our fastest brushed run was a single motor which was a vintage 8 turn single. We hit 69mph. We have been close to it many times but we just can't get into the 70's. I think our motor is fried lol
If you guys want to see more of this car then please drop a comment. Should we make it faster?
That was neat i like the idea
Thanks! It was super simple but mostly fun! We may keep going with it but brushless!!

Thank you for the kind words. It is simple to do and I will make a video on what we did!!
Super cool and keep pushing it!

Those are the Rlaarlo tires with carbon fiber belting. They do well!
Legal beagle buddy!🤣😂 that’s awesome!👊👍👍
Thanks so much! Just trying something different. Would of been a lot faster with matched gear.

I bought them on Amazon. There was a red and blue option.

We will continue this and also make a video showing the modifications and what had to be done.
Super cool
I would love to see how you put that together. Awesome!
Coming soon!
cant wait to start on round two lol
when I had my Emax the dual motors, were with a high and low gear on a swithc , enjoyed the run
Thanks Fish!! I did think about using a 2 speed gearbox from a nitro car!
Awesome! How the heck did you mount two motors!… keep it going! 🤜🤛
I bought a generic motor mount from amazon and bolted it to the belly of the beast! I will make a video showing what had to be done.
This is great! I've been ordering parts for a dual motor build as well. Yours is definitely more Tamiya. So cool to see the idea in action!
It works very well and was super simple to pull off. Our problem was mismatched equipment.
@@TeamJunkYardDog that's great to hear! Will you have time to match it all before Sunday? Maybe go over 1:1 gearing?
@@craziestmonkey No unfortunately I won't. I need to find another vintage Novak GT7

Definitely world first 😎
I added the question mark because I wasn't sure lol I researched and didn't find another but who knows.
@@TeamJunkYardDog I've seen a stretched TT 02. Never a twin motor. It's awesome 👍
@@MechanicallyFun Thank You!
That's crazy, well done 🤩 Luckily it's too late to wake up a certain Kevin T. who would put four 10'000 kv motors on a TT02 and send it to the Moon 🚀😆

I did think of this too. That and a high motor mount for a 1/8 scale motor.
I was going to do the high mount and the normal mount but I couldn't get a high mount in time plus this way was super easy to do.
That’s awesome, and with some work and tge right gearing and road is capable of some really high speeds
We hope to find out!
Awesome. Absolutely fair game as far as I’m concerned. I thought about this once the new rlaaro came out. I would print the side skirts differently to hold the batteries down low on the side.
That would help to keep the Center of gravity lower!
I have no idea how you sync the motors! That would need some research.
@@thebandit1974 Is that a thing lol Maybe I should ask Raz the speed run guy.
@@TeamJunkYardDog in my head it sounds like it should be! But what do I know!
@@thebandit1974 Where we went wrong is mismatched gear. Next time we will have matching esc and batteries.
Nice project! Two motors are better than one 😅
You got that right!
2 motors helps a lot with the high gearing.

Do it brushless, at least that way you can use 2 of the same esc's..... Plus, two 2 or 3S lipo packs will lighter and should fit in better....
Will do! I ran it this way because I was doing a speed run challenge that required nimh batteries and brushed motors.
I am resurrectung my old dual motor Tamiya TA03 :)
Very Cool!
I think it’s fair and legal.
That's what I thought as well as long as we kept everything separated and within rules.
