    Good review. My wife and I commute from Stansted to London daily on this beaut. It is a sublime machine. I have nine in black with a Givi box to give the Mrs a comfortable relaxing ride. I’m 6ft2 and it find it v comfortable. Well worth getting the additional pegs also.

Whether simply zipping down to Red Rooster after finishing my Coles trolley collecting shift, or in taking on Putty road with big brother trailing me on his Vstrom. Nice review. Your videos are getting better all the time. I consider the xadv to probably be the best looking scooter type bike out there and very possibly the best all round two wheeler out there as it can literally do everything; commuting, shopping, weekend rides, touring you name it. Still, there's no way in hell I'd trade my SMT in for anything except a new SMT.

    • @JustMamba
      @JustMamba 2 роки тому

      You can buy a throttle lock for pretty cheap. And thr apple car play isn't even in option on expensive motorcycles. They only come on big heavy cruisers which are usually around double the price of this scooter.. cruise control isn't a normal thing or common thing for bikes because it can cause wrecks. When you have cruise control on in a car and you are going up a hill or anywhere you are losing alot of momentum it will automatically rev the engine up to like 5000 or more rpm to get back to the speed quickly. If you were to do that on a bike it can easily cause you to wreck.

    For most riding situations from quick highways jaunts. In the slow lane to city / suburb commuting to backroads and light open single track trails, the new Honda hybrid gas / electric ADV scooters will be the most cost effective fun 2 wheel transport available. I’m getting in the “que” early for investing in 2 of them. One as a “classic collectible” and 1 for riding the wheels off going every where as a new flavor of “light duty dual sport” 2 wheel fun, - WORD !!!

    As soon as I hired this in Madeira Portugal for five days I wanted to buy it. But I wanted style so went for the Forza 750. Traded in my BMW R1200RT. What I like about the manual mode is the you want in auto you’ve slowed down auto will change so it won’t labour the engine. I did a round trip London to Hinckley and back turn a nice 71 miles to the gallon. Also ordered the central locking top box. I absolutely Love it.

    Honda X-ADV Scooter Beats Field of ADV Bikes in Gibraltar Race
    Think you can beat this scooter on your Adventure Bike? Think again!
    Published on 07.12.2019
    Riding a maxi scooter in what many call the ultimate Trans-European off-road adventure rally may sound like a strange choice, but to Paris-Dakar veteran Renato Zocchi it made perfect sense. “Many would never imagine it,” he says, “to run with something no one would have chosen to do a race like this, side by side with the single-cylinder and twin-cylinder enduros.”
    His results at the finish of the Gibraltar race - 1st in Class 2 (601cc - 950cc) and 7th overall - are a big win for Honda’s crossover X-ADV 750.

    I agree. The NC750X is considerably cheaper, and does pretty much the same thing. It has about the same storage in the 'fake' petrol tank. You could buy the NC750X and still easily have enough money to kit it out with all the luggage, or buy yourself a reasonably decent other S/H bike. All these big 'scooters' for want of a better word, whatever the make, are too expensive.

    Nice review. I had the first generation and sold it as I was focusing some other bikes in the garage. It wasn't more than a month and I had sellers remorse. So I placed an order (in Thailand) for this newer version. However, the delivery times being quoted are around 4-5 months. Not sure why the backlog. Is it market demand, or the now infamous "chip shortage" or other supply chain issues? But I really like this machine and the new one will have a permanent place in my garage. But have to wait a few more months. Anyone know the reason behind the shortage of inventory. My dealer is unhelpful in this regard. Cheers, and Happy New Year!

Impressive storage capacity but it's definitely not for rough roads. I like the x-adv but it's too sophisticated ($$). I have a no frills Himalayan (great suspension), a 650 Interceptor that prefers asphalt but can navigate gravel and an older tu250x which is a terrific urban runnabout. I'm not ready for a mobility scooter, but if RE marketed a sub 400 scooter x, I'd probably check it out. 😃

    Honda have fallen into the trap of the low volume machine and trying to charge too much for it to make up for their investment, much like the CB1100 (recently departed). That price is far too salty without cruise and some other goodies, has it even got heated grips?

    • @mancavemoto
      @mancavemoto  3 роки тому +1

      I don’t think they’ve fallen into a trap, they are a big enough corporation to be able to produce a bike like this. The price is a bit toppy though. The CB1100 sadly didn’t pass euro 5 emission tests, which is why it was dropped.

    • @terenceokeeffesmotorcyclestuff

      @@mancavemoto They are big enough but no corporation wants to take a hit. But it is a necessity if they want to push boundaries and come up with a winner in the competitive marketplace though, fair play to Honda for doing so. Some will win big, Africa Twin springs to mind and others wont. I have a 2018 CB1100EX but bought in 2nd hand at good value, sad to see the bike fail Euro5 but it was an ultra slow seller since launch. There are only around 375 in the UK either registered or SORN'd since UK launch is 2013, now that is abysmal. They are producing a run out model of the CB1100 for other markets so its global retirement is on its way, I expect there will be an old school polished engine for the old girl's final fling.
