- Here's a track from the what now seems to be out of print live album with Brian Melvin's "Nightfood" band featuring Jaco Pastorius on bass as the star attraction. It opens with an extended bass solo by Jaco where he quotes many of his favorite melodies and phrases before it segues into an inspired version of "Continuum". Jaco Pastorius - Bass, Brian Melvin - drums, Jon Davis - Keyboards. Saxophonist Azar Lawrence and guitarist Paul Mousavi were also a part of the group but they sat out on this particular section of the gig. The gig took place in Toulouse, France on January the 30th in 1985.
I had a chance to spend 8hrs with Jaco dream come true I will never forget that day!
This has to be one of the best versions of Continuum I've heard him play. It's so low and gracefully beautiful. I love it.
I agree wholeheartedly. A very special and inspired version for sure. Thanks for commenting :)
Welcome back! I was worried when months started to go by without an upload from you, I'm glad to see you post again
Your content is what inspired me to create the Jaco Pastorius Archive UA-cam channel, which is now moderately succesful. Thank you a lot for your work
@@LageUA-cam Thanks Lage. I'm very happy to hear that my channel inspired you to go on and start your own ( which is excellent btw). Like I've written to you in another comment on your channel the work you've done with your remastering is amazing and a very welcome addition to the effort all of us fans do to keep Jaco's flame burning. Greetings from Norway :)
@@musicuniverse1986 Thank you very much!

@@LucilleBrawl17 Thank you so much! But seriously, Music Universe is THE man. Espen has been doing huge service to Jaco's legacy for a long time
I'm grateful for you both.
@@LucilleBrawl17 Thank you both for your kind comments :)

I want to visit the parallel universe where that g*dm chorus effect had never been invented and geniuses like Jaco could just be heard clean and true.

Thanks my friend. It's good to be back.
@@musicuniverse1986 did u used to have a post on here called "the bow tie dress"? i remember a story being told to me in the comment section of it about a stranger leaving the CD.
The Wizard of Oz theme "If I only had a Brain"
What is he quoting at 0:43? Anyone know?
I may be wrong but it sounds like ''''Rite of Spring" by Stravinsky
Yes. It's from Stravinsky's Rite of Spring
too short
