I just ordered the DHD 3DV 5´8 and 26.5 liters. It will arrived Lima (Perú) at year end. Can´t wait to surf it. I will replaced my TOMO Sci-Fi 5´7 and 26.4 liters. I will surf it in small waves around 2 - 5 feet in Cerro Azul & Puerto Viejo.
Great review, and honest review about DHD 3DV, we can clearly see you slide a bit at very first waves, in intro. it's really nice to see another surfer testing a board, ( Mr.Martinez). Great job guys, great review !!! you are the best Noel ! absolutly the best Sssssssit back and enjoy the show ! hahaha ! :D
Amazing review, as usual!! I would suggest to keep using the ruler to show us the concave. It's a good way to show us how is the concave and also how deep it is. Thanks Noel!!
@@timothyboardman6104 it goes good when the waves are really good. Definitely not an average day board. Not the most stable board so it takes some getting used to but once you do it’s a great good wave board.
i think it would be great in your review if you could add for what kind of waves each surfboard is more suitable, the wave range height is good but a 4foot fat wave versus a 4 foot sucky wave would require different type of board.
Asaf Naot Waiting on the folks at DHD to send it down. I ordered in a couple months ago. On another note.... I am supposed to pick up the new Wilko F13 model this week.
The D2 is faster and pivots better. The 3DV likes to be on rail more… so it loves to carve. The 3DV you need to be on your game to maximize performance and fun. The D2 is easier to shred…
Great review Noel! Thanks for this amazing job of truly honest reviews! Would you have any opinions on the DHD's Black Diamond? DHD website says the BD is a more all-rounder and goes well even with a little more punchy waves. Do you agree? Would the Black Diamond be more versatile than the 3DV? The BD seems to have less rocker and have a more forward wide point. What would that do? Cheers from France!
I got a 6’0 3DV with 31.5 L. I’ m 5’10 and 168 pounds. I’m intermediate to advanced but I was wondering if I made a mistake by buying it too big. What do you think of the situation?
Liter range for your weight at different skill levels. Pro/Expert = 27-29 Advanced = 29-31L Intermediate = 32-34L If the board turns like your in slow motion, hard to put it in the pocket quickly, getting stuck at the top of the wave when you come down from a top turn then it might be a bit to buoyant.
The 3DV takes a bit to get used too with all the Vee but after you get it dialed it goes good. The 3DX is a great daily driver and goes better in smaller waves. I surf 1-4’ waves 95% of the time.... with that being said I would go 3DX
Hi Noel, i was wondering if the v would help a lower intermediate level with getting on rail and initiating propper turns instead of just cruising down the line going top to bottom, but i see you don't think a lower intermediate is a good fit. Im riding a lost v3 and wanted somthing more manuverable short board looking. My friends baby buggy felt good but i only rode a few waves on in. What would you suggest for somone trying to get to that next level nailing some propper turns? I'm looking at baby buggy, monster box, phantom, uber driver and 3dv. Thanks mate, im a bigger guy 6 foot 2 about 90kgs from gold coast australia, i watch every video you post really like your show
Steven Daw The 3DV wants to get on rail with very little effort from the surfer.... sometimes too easy and the board can feel unstable. That’s why I set the skill level. I think all the other boards you mentioned will go good for you. I think the 3DX is more user friendly compared to the 3DV. Maybe get to a DHD Demo day and see if you can try a 3DV before you buy one.
sean love Maybe so... but I have surfed many boards that try to stay flat through turns. It will start on rail then go flat. This board wants to get on rail....
@@seanlove5602 That's probably my problem, just my mates board seemed to want to turn easier, I've always surfed hybrid type boards but i should prob work more with my v3 rocket before I spend the money on a new board
Another excellent review Noel and Aaron, thanks. My son has this board and loves it, I have the 3DX, wishin I had the 3DV now. Noel which board do you like best out of the 3DV and the Pyzel Phantom? And why?
Great review Noel super insightful. Out of interest, how do you feel about going with shorter board lengths than usual for a daily driver. Ie; I usually ride 5'11 but looking at a few of the lost boards around the 5'9 mark? Keep up the good work
price man I like my Daily Drivers a little shorter. I am 5’9” and my Daily Drivers range from 5’6-5’7”. As long as the volume is there then the 2-3” aren’t a problem for me. A shorter board turns quicker and I like that... and it fits better in the pocket on smaller waves.
Curious to see if you are able to whip it around with critical turns like most of the other shortboards you test or if have to be more conservative with your lines, look forward to it!!

He’s shredding this board harder than any other board I’ve seen haha!
I agree, just got one in a round tail can’t wait to give it a go

Always great reviews! Specially like the fact you didn't recommend this board to beginners!
i bought one, perfect review! great job!
How did it go for you?

i think it would be great in your review if you could add for what kind of waves each surfboard is more suitable, the wave range height is good but a 4foot fat wave versus a 4 foot sucky wave would require different type of board.
A 4’ hollow wave would be no problem for the 3DV to handle. Likewise…. 4’ flat faced wave is no problem either.
Great review Noel. Thanks. When do you plan on doing the Mini Twin review that you mentioned in one of the other episodes?

Such a shamw we never got to see you try out the DNA or the DX1, they're such good models
I agree. Dhd short boards can be pretty demanding.
You are so amazing at surfing! Are you sponsored by any surf companies?
Scott No sponsors...
Scott Thank you for the kind words though.
Great review as always! what would be your go between the Monsta Box and the 3DV?
Cap Shackleton MBwithout a doubt. The 3DV is fun but not a Favorite

Rob Loudon Air17X for sure
