Jim was class, so he was. He killed Jez, so he did. It's a shame he left, so it is. I miss Jim, so I do
I saw what you did there, so I did! 😏
We all know jmJim was a real man so we do.
@@rogerdodger1790 Proper fighting man. Anytime any place anywhere
I'll give you a like and a comment, so I will.
You guys are really kicking a deadhorse with this phrase so you are
Jim doesn’t act hard he is hard
So he is
Grant mitchell aswell. Both EX FORCES
@@mattcolley358 I agree.
An excellent end to the story. After a long reign of terror Jez met his match here.
So he did
nobody gets the better of jim McDonald ao they don't
People who bully people are not hard, They are just playground bullies.
So they are.
Jim using the Irish temper 💪
He killed him so fast that he should be called Jez Quickly. LOL.
love the bully that jez was but he was up against the mad irishman big jim mc donald
a prime jim against a prime cain. cain wouldn't have stood a chance cain isn't even that hard.
Zak would paste em bofe!
Jim and Zak would of been a good fight.
Jim would batter Cain. Eastenders lacks a good depth of hard men for him to fight so he ends up looking tougher than he actually is.
Prime Phil and prime Jim same level
Jim’s one of the hardest blokes in any soap.
Either him or Grant Mitchell.
So he is.
He’s 1 of the hard men of all time so he is 😉
Jim would make the Mitchell brothers his bitches
Jim is one of the hardest character's the soap world has seen. He knew he was hard and proved it
The man, the myth the legend
jim deffo the hardest corrie character
Jim's one of soaps toughest due to this beating up someone that eventually kills them isn't a easy thing to do not many soap characters have taken a life with there bare hands
I get why you think that makes him one of the toughest soap characters but I think there's alot of better fighters in soaps. Nathan Harding in my opinion was harder than Jim since he was a boxing champion in the military and put Ashley in the hospital with a single punch. He also floored everyone else he hit and was obviously really skilled.
@@H.K.5 Nathan is definitely a better fighter but taking someone's life with your bare hands is not easy what so ever I don't think Jim is up there with the elites but this alone makes him top 20 and at least top five on Corrie alone
@@footballfanatic3481 Putting someone in the hospital with one punch isn't easy either. Jim is easily top 5 in Corrie though, I agree with you on that.
@@H.K.5 If you know how to punch plus its alot easier then taking a life with your bare hands for the record I think Nathan is tougher then Jim I'm just saying this alone makes Jim one of soaps hardest characters not in the elite bracket but his in a rare one
Has anyone bar Jim even taking a life with there bare hands ? I agred that alone makes Jim tougher then most
Jez forgets that Jim is ex-army
JEZ FORGETS THAT JIM IS EX-ARMY
@@glorysengo6289 That's more like it 👏👏👏😃😃😃
This was a time coming in wish Jim stuck around and continued to rise as a hardman
Jim McDonald - harder than a Ross Kemp documentary.
Except every time things were about to kick off he got outta there. (Impressions show/dead ringers)
The fact Jez survived the beating from Jim is quite impressive.
Jez died on Steve’s bedside after Jim battered him
@@ChrisDrennan-ot7clis it implied that he had an internal bleed that went unnoticed or something like that?
the QUIGLEY clan are made off strong stuff ................
Jez look's like a creepy gay man
I remember watching this on a school night 😂 and me and my mates where buzzing that Jim gave Jez a well deserved kick in I was only eight years old lol I was actually shocked it eventually killed him though
Do you remember Charles from bread
Was Jim the first ever soap character to kill a man with his bare hands ?
Joey Godden was I think
Joey Godden.
Nice one guys! totally forgot about Godden lol
Don't forget Sean Slater, he killed his dad with one punch.
And Warren Fox. He's beaten two men to death.
Corrie was quality back then, jim killed him, so he did
Now this Jim (in his prime) vs Charlie Stubbs and Pat Phelan would of been a ace fight
Jim would win the fight however Pat would be to clever in the long run. Jim tended to act first and think second (his return saw a crueler side which I didn't care for) while Pat was ruthless and capable of anything.
Pat was definitely the more Intresting out the two
Jim would be destroyed if he'd fought Rick the loan shark.
@@Zzzzz_Zzzzzz______ That one who ambushed Phelan in his home? He'd give Jim a bit of a fight but he was way too slow. Jim is just as strong, whilst being faster & more experienced.
Jim would kill that loan shark. It's loan shark vs soldier, take your pick.
No he doesn’t meant the one that ambushed Pat he meant the one that was in and out the soap for years lending money to people like Joe McIntyre and then Gary Windass.

*"It's gonna take somebody bigger than you to scare me."*
Well you won't find many of them Jez so you won't; he's called "Big Jim" for a reason.
Jim is a legend for this hated Jez
jim handed himself in shortly after because it was the right thing to do. He also thought it wouldn't be long before the police came knocking on his door. I suppose he could have been right there because there were witnesses that he pushed out of the way going into jez's flat. So he probably would have got arrested eventually if he didn't hand himself in.
It was obviously the body punch from Jim which killed Jez but I don't know how that was enough to kill him.
That and when he shoved Jez towards the ground he hit something around 2:13
@@rossross1149 Yeah that was a possible factor. From the looks of it, he tore one of the stitches on his body when he was with Steve.
@@H.K.5 He ruptured his spleen from the beating several days before
@H.K Apparently this scene was apparently originally supposed to be way more brutal but ITV deemed it too violent for 19:30 so Corrie had to cut it down. Only a rumour but it makes sense because there's no way Jez would have facial injuries that severe from one punch to the face, it would also explain how he died from the beating.
@@stevedavidson5038 Yeah that makes perfect sense. Jez dying from this was pretty unrealistic, if Jim hit hard enough to kill a man then he should've been able to knock out everyone else he punched.
Jez was scary. I was really young when I saw him on corrie and my god he scared me.
Complete psycho. He did his part well. I heard he’s such a friendly and kind person in real life.
Yep, best pals with Simon Gregson who plays Steve as well.
Not here he wasn’t 🤣
Jez was a camp villain
So he was
Jim was pure anger and adrenaline , nothing could stop him
The scenes were supposed to be serious. However I've always found Jim hilarious. I laughed my wee head off when I watched this so I did. The most angry man in soapland ever so he was. I hope he goes back into corrie, it may bring some violent humour. There's a few annoying characters that need a good punch so they do.
Being a former soldier, Jim knows how to look out for himself. I doubt he was particularly frightened of Jez.
Why is it that corrie has no macho men, no hard blokes, now if you look at Eastenders you could name 6-7 lads that could handle themselves

The only person bigger than Jim Mcdonald is Pat Tate, Pat Tate would have done far worser damage than Jim Mcdonald did to Jez Quigley Pat Tate was harder than Jim Mcdonald.
Jez is the Ruud Van Nistelrooy/Robbie Savage of the criminal underworld- happy to dish it out but couldn't take it when someone gave it back.
Only hard when he had all his wee mates with him so he was. Typical bully.
@@klsaunders2656 and he was stupid not to be scared of Big Jim, so he was. Fatal error
Technically Jim didn't kill Jez he tore his own stitches 😂
Would have loved to seen Jim have a fight with Phil Mitchell!
Jim would’ve won. Grant would be a much better fight.
@@Grandmaster_Dragonborn Grant Vs Jim. I would have paid to watch that fight!
@@thelastoftheanglosaxons.3724 I can imagine Grant being used to bulldozing through Albert Square, that he’s taken aback when Jim smacks him, and realises this won’t be quite as straight forward ::)
Then when they’re finished, they apologise and go have a drink as they bond over their army experiences. 😂
@@Grandmaster_Dragonborn 🤣🤣
@@thelastoftheanglosaxons.3724 I suppose Grant would probably win, but Jim would give him him a proper fight so he would.
Unless Grant pulls a Jez Quigley on Steve and Liz, then Jim would kill him like he did Jez.
Jez didn't have a chance so he didn't
Who would win Jim McDonald or Zak Dingle.
I'd go Jim. But it would be close.
I remember this when it originally aired. Jez got what he deserved for getting his gang to beat up Jim's son.
I would absolutely love if Jim and Liz returned on Corrie and finally got together ❤ they nearly did until Corrie ruined it by getting Jim to lie about their dead daughter Katie and we all know full well Jim would NEVER have done that!!!!!
Exactly, he was a man of principles, that’s why he turned himself in after this.
Jim should've got a tape recorder and put in his jacket
Jim'll fix it so he will
Jez quigley must of been a pure softie if he only died as a result of a couple punches to the stomach and face.
There was probably more off screen
i think it was more brutal in the original broadcast
A prime Jim Mcdonald may have been hard, But a prime Pat Tate is harder a prime Jim Mcdonald would never have stood a chance against a prime Pat Tate.
Where is Pat Tate now?
@@davemorgan8522 he is dead
Do you mean Pat Phelan!? If so, Jim would lay waste to Phelan, so he would!
@@Jamie--- No Pate Tate
Jim was absolute nails. 3 punch combo & a shove to the floor & Quigley was done. Animal.
jez giving the QUIGLEYS a bad name..................... waster.
jim thinking his hard because he killed a man anyone can kill in a fight grant mitchell would tear him apart
If anyone can kill in a fight then why have alot of elite hardmen not killed In a fight ? including your precious Mitchell brothers lol
Do you like any other hardmen other then the Mitchell brothers ?
@@rossross1149 grant killed a man in the vic and phil killed alan hall
@@darrylball3880 I suspect your talking about Eddie Royle ? If so Grant never killed him and Phil accidentally killed Alan plus it wasn't with his bare hands 😂
@@darrylball3880 Grant killed Jason Cox. He pretended to run away into hiding for a few weeks but sneaked into Coxs house offscreen and a planted a bomb. EE didn't show this cause writing happens to be very subtle and never forced (it's not we here anything about about been A Mitchell every episode).
When Corrie was worth watching. Pre woke
Don’t think the show is woke tbf just shit
@@deanscott4956 It’s both
Dont mess with big jim
Youse a big gurrls blouse, so ye are.
Jim had full army training so he did. Jez never stood a chance so he didn't.
I loved watching this as a kid
Justice is served
Go Jim
Jim gave Jeraldine a good shooing so he did.😃
NURSE MY SON HERE WANTS TO KNOW IF YOU'VE GOT A GINGER MINGE SO HE DOES
He killed him so he did
the british sopranos, so it is
Jim's just a thug
Jim McDonald vs Pat Phelan would be great who you all backing ?
jim
Jim he killed a man using his fists
Probably Jim
Jim for me to be honest Phelan wasn't all that
Prime Jim easy
Big Jim, off to the Big House.
Bit of left field scenario how about Jim MacDonald v Dennis rickman?
Dennis was good if he got his shots off first, if he doesn't get Jim with something good at the start of the fight though Jim wins.
Owed him
Jez was supposed to be a "HARD MAN"
The best ever CORRIE Villain was ALAN BRADLEY
The best ever CORRIE episode was when Bradley tortured Rita for a whole episode in Brighton
I was a child when it was broadcast and i could not sleep for a Week after watching it 😀
Well done Jim
Jim McDonald Vs Phil Mitchell
Whadaboutya Steven.
Great story lines from years ago. Not like the woke “issues” of today.
Stevie Mac Kill's Jez By Fart🛌😤💥💨😫💩
Weird beardy Jez no match
Compared to Jimmy Mac👊🥃👊
Jim owned Beardy Weirdy Jezza Bell👊🥊✊No Problem
Very poor script
Wtf happened there? Didn’t see Jim 🤔
His spleen weakend and then ruptured due to the beating Jim gave him

Jim and Tony Stewart would of been a good fight.
That would be close but Jim would have won I think
@@lloydjackson9626 Tony has the strength, Jim has the aggression. So it could go either way. But I think Jim would win.
@@lloydjackson9626 imagine jim against zak dingle. That would be a good fight.
@@rorymckernan8502 I agree Tony and Jim would have gone either. Jim vs Zak Dingle would also have been a great fight but I think prime Zak would would win because he was a bare knuckle fighter but Jim would give him a good fight. The soap characters that I think would beat prime zak are Grant Mitchell, Cain Dingle, Warren Fox, Graham Foster, Phil Mitchell, Vincent Hubbard, Brendan Brady, Dan Sullivan and Probably Jack Branning
@@lloydjackson9626I agree with all of them, apart from Cain.
Zak beat Cain numerous times, in his prime, and Cain didn't do anything.
Jim the Big Gorilla beat up a wannabe gangster, nice one
