Skin care dream: James comes with me to shop for my skin care products. Even with all the help and guidance in these videos, all the ingredient and product choices is so overwhelming. *sigh*...
Previously, I had bad skin. I had tiny bumps on my forhead and cheeks which later turned out to be cystic acne. And my skin had new breakouts every other day. I used coconut oil, baking soda, lemon, toothpaste and every other rubbish diy hack on my face. I resent toxic misleading culture on the Internet. I am grateful that there are people like you who can guide about skincare better. Now, I have clear and healthy skin. Thanks James.
Okay so I’m pretty sure you’d cringe at how I’ve been treating my face so I’m here for the knowledge! I love learning how to best take care of my skin especially since I’ve had to wear masks for most of this year and I’m breaking out a little and blackheads.
Girl! I’m 52, and I just started this year. I mean, I was just washing my face with Dove beauty bar. That’s it! No moisturizer, nothing! For all these years. I’m immune compromised and got fungal acne 😬😲. I had to do something! My doctor was no help.
My skin cried when I went went in rougly with a scrub after over cleansing my face, applying benzoyl peroxide to then finish off without even using a moisturizer. I hate myself.
I have seborrheic dermatitis and I just learned it’s very important that I also have to physically exfoliate because a chemical exfoliator isn’t enough to remove the dead skin because it’s pretty much layers that’s glued onto my skin and some of chemical exfoliators can aggravate my skin condition and cause it to flare up. It’s been the bane of my being and it looks so bad under makeup if I don’t
It’s really nice to see you openly showing ur dark spots (and others) not that it’s bad if you don’t show them but it’s rly nice to see ur transparency hEh
Thanks for noticing! I actually changed my lighting / where I film in natural light, to show more skin texture and tone so I’m glad you’ve noticed haha
@@JamesWelsh :o its like these subtle subconscious details u add in ur videos that u really embrace but like I pErsOnAllY beLive that acne and texture is beautiful it might not be socially accepted and normalized but we gotta start somewhere
Just did my first chemical exfoliation and wow. Love it and loved how my other products felt going on. I'm nearly 40!!! and just getting into a proper routine. Thanks for your channel and knowledge♡
Skincare Junkie here. I was given a small jar of the Kate Sommerville DeliKate Recovery Cream. I fell in love with it. It saved my skin when I went on tret. Unfortunately, it's $80 for 1.7 ounces. Well worth it but not a purchase I can make at the moment. If you have the means, I highly, highly, highly recommend it.
Great video! I've had to strip my routine right back to cleanse, moisturise and sunscreen. My face keeps having HORRIBLE reactions to hyaluronic acid that leaves me blotchy, red and super irritated. I've been planning to start trying to implement chem. exfoliation again so this has come at a good time.
Jamesssss! May we see a update weekly skincare routine and what your current skin concerns are and how you incorporate products if you are exfoliating everyday even??!
I love love Exfolikate! It does burn a smidge when I use it but it doesn’t last afterward for long. I like how it smells. 😆 Can’t afford to buy it all the time so I use it sparingly when I buy it. 😍
Your voice is so soothing, you should do audiobooks or something 😂😂 but fr I’m so glad for this video because it’s informative and I need help for my acne pigmentation ✨
@@JamesWelsh I'm so glad you replied 😁 Otherwise I was thinking of commenting the same thing every time you upload a new video until you noticed haha but you better unpack and tidy up asap cuz I'm quite impatient 😜😅
The intensive treatment is sooooo strong 😱 Don't get me wrong, it is a REALLY great product if your skin can handle it! You can work up from as long as you feel comfortable to two minutes (which is a hard maximum). However, I don't think I would recommend it to someone with sensitive skin because of how strong it is. The Fresh Lotus Youth Preserve Mask would potentially be a gentler alternative; it is similar with the physical and chemical exfoliation but not aggressive. Ofc if your skin is sensitive to fragrance, then Fresh is probably not your go-to brand lol, but it is a nice experience if you aren't.
Just got a small bottle of the liquid in a Sephora sampler and was hoping James had done a video about it! Excited to see the difference it makes on my acne-prone skin, especially after a year of dealing with maskne!
I use ole henriksen's transforming walnut scrub. I usually use it once a week, sometimes twice. I also make sure not to scrub it in too harshly or for that long and just focus on the areas that tend to be drier and have a rougher texture. I've tried multiple chemical exfoliants and my skin didn't like them at all. I have more sensitive skin, and lupus on top of it, so my skin tends to react to different chemicals. My dermatologist suggested the henriksen scrub and gave me all the directions. Everyone's skin is different which is probably why there's a billion different products on the market. And not all walnut scrubs are created equal. The henriksen is milled a lot finer than st ives. To each their own.
Can you please do like a Korean skin care starter kit video?? Sort of like the makeup trend about drugstore starter kit videos, but a skincare version. I recently found yesstyle and have been so overwhelmed looking through your videos trying to pick out best things you recommend. There are a few toners, essences, that are repeating that I could pick up on but I would love to see a dedicated video from you since I trust you with my LIFE lol 💓💓💓💓
I received a sample of this with a Sephora order. I have extremely dry, sensitive, starting to age, skin. I used this once and my skin is so smooth and soft. I debated if it was worth the price tag before seeing this video. I am going to splurge on this for two reasons: It did not upset, irritate or break out my skin. A little goes a long way so I will probably only have to buy this every six months to a year. So, when I use my girl math, it is definitely worth the price tag. LOL
Thank you for this! I recieved the ExfoliKate scrub in a Boxy Charm box, and love it. However, when I am finished with it, I am SO trying the Liquid ExfoliKate. Thanks again for a wonderful vid. Cheers!
I wonder if I was using it wrong, but that chemical exfoliant treatment from Kate Somerville made my skin burn and I don't have a super sensitive skin, I really wouldn't recommend it for sensitive skins even if it has aloe and honey.
It's REALLY strong. A great product if your skin can handle it, but like veeeeeerrrrrrrrry strong. I don't think you were using it wrong because I work at Sephora and that's feedback we get and something I always tell clients, that you can leave it on for however long it feels comfortable (up to two min ofc) and wash it off immediately if it starts to hurt.
The KS Liquid Exfolikate is the only acid toner I've every tolerated well, and I don't really know why. I can use it now 2x a week. It's brilliant stuff. Good partnership.
I use tretinoin .015% so I'm worried about over exfoliating. I use Purito's overnight 2% BHA gel every two weeks and it seems to help and not dry me out or cause sensitivity. =] thanks for the video, always look forward to your content.
My cousin and I were trying to come up with a skin care regimen and he asked me a question I didn't even know how to answer 🤣 He asked "will any of these chemicals ever change my beard or mustache hair color"? I've never thought of it because I don't have that worry so maybe help us out?
Hey James, thanks for taking the time to share your knowledge, thoughts and opinions with us!🤗 I was wondering if you ever tried the Banobagi Milk Thistle sunscreen (K-beauty brand)?
I tried it and loved it! I thought you'd like it too. It's a little more lightweight than the Purito but similar, I believe it has the same UV filters as well. It's so easy to reapply and it leaves a nice dewy finish 😊
I use glycolic toner but used a freebie of a walnut and green tea scrub on Monday to try, now my face has sensitive red areas around nose. Won’t be using that again lol. Stay safe xx
I started using Kate Somerville when I was gifted a mini version of Kate Somerville's Exfolikate and I love it. Are there any other of her products you like besides the DeliKate? I have been curious about the serum that combines Vitamin C and Vitamin B
Hi James, I’ve just picked these products up after a swap from Biologique Recherche P50 and I’m a bit confused by your instructions here. I just wanted to check as you had a note flash up that the directions were from KS so I thought there may be something outside of the ones the products come with (a sort of ‘other ways to use these’). You initially said you can leave the intensive treatment for 10 minutes but the directions say 2 on the packaging? Once my skin is accustomed to it, do you/KS recommend leaving it longer, up to 10 mins? Also, you say you can use the Liquid Exfolikate every day at the beginning of that part of the video then you break it down by skin type and mention only using once or twice a week? Again, is this something that can be done if the skin is happy with it and it needs it?? Final question, how long do you wait after applying the Liquid Exfolikate and my next step (oil/moisturiser..). Sorry for all the questions but I’m just a bit nervous as this is a new brand for me. Loving your channel by the way, and your joint one with Robert👌You are both so funny and helpful and have the best accents!! Much love from Australia, Amanda💜xx

I use the TF Oud Wood beard oil. In my opinion it's just a basic heavily perfumed oil. I didn't notice my beard becoming softer or anything just that it smelled nice.
Its sad that it has pumpkin enzyme...everything i have tried with pumpkin enzyme feels like smearing lava on my skin. Glycolic acid most of the time also burns.
Hi James, love love your channel! Can you please please please talk about hypo-pigmentation?? Or post inflammatory Hypopigmentation. I’ve been getting them (due to my eczema recently) and I can’t find anything that talks about products or what can you do. Please do it, I’d be soo grateful
I love the intensive treatment so much. I have tried a few “dupes” like the one from pixie but from Now on i will be spending my money on the real thing. Expensive but worth it.
To elaborate, the pixie polish peel is very nice but the physical exfoliant in it is not as fine and therefore feels a bit more abrasive as well as a bit less thorough in removing the layer of dead skin. It is twice the product for about half The price and it is still nice enough for me To finish up before I switch back to kate’s
I love your channel, but as a mature dry skinned person could you recommend someone with this type of skin to watch. Or something for sun damage hyperpigmentation....❤❤
Aloha James! 1st of all, love your channel, so thank you. What about dry skin? I'm almost 50 and I've used things like DE Baby Facial, TO peel, PC 2% BHA Exfoliate, and I've moisturize like CRAZY. Not sure if I just need to get that crap off of my face and deal with it or if I should stay away from exfoliate all together. Would love your advice. Mahalo!
