If you ever do a second part or a follow up to this, there's a neat interview Dave did where he talks about how he approaches the guitar a little like a drum set where the lower strings are the kick/snare and the higher strings are the cymbals for accents or something like that.

Accents. Dynamics, Movement and Nuance. It's what happens when you know the language and speak it with others. If you play music alone all the time you will miss all of this. It's like learning to speak Spanish in a mirror as opposed to a group setting.

@@aaronkirkland212 I disagree with that entriely. Many of us are solo artists and do just fine making great music. Fuck collaboration and fuck being in a band. Total waste of time imo. The only ego I can deal with is my own. I know my music theory and I know how to do all the shit that is described in the video. It's called having a brain and talent. I mean no disrespect to you, just being honest here.
