Hello, I’m a dark-skinned 46-year-old female with dry skin and eczema. After my cleansing routine, I would use either Thayers Facial toner with witch hazel or Eau Roma Water from Lush cosmetics. Lush cleansing and mask products can leave residue, I thought using a toner with a cotton pad would remove the access product off my face. I need help, can you please recommend toners that are safe to use on very sensitive skin types to remove access residual product from my face safely from my skin? I’m trying to learn how to clean my face properly.
I use Thayers rose petal alcohol free toner for my astringent toner with a cotton pad, then Im from's Rice Toner with my hands, and I also use Thayers Milky toner as well in my routine. The last 2 are hydrating toners, but the Thayers is more viscous. Im thinking of trying Pat Mcgraths rose toner as well.
I'm using 2 toners.. for daily (am & pm), using estee lauder nutritious super pomegranate lotion which is to hydrate my skin.. meanwhile my another toner which i use for twice a week only is pixy glycolic acid (to exfoliate).. has been a year since i use both & my skin has been the most amazing.. it's not about how much money we wasted but it is about what actually our skin needed. & Now i'm proud to say i'm free from large pore problems at 32 years old
Just wanted to share how I used my toner. Since I have a combination skin I don’t use cleanser every morning I only wash it (since every night I usually double cleanse) and after I washed it I used toner (a mild and hydrating toner) it feels nice. Every night I stick with my usual skincare routine cleanser toner serum and etc
Jumiso 5% AHA glycolic and lactic acid is best for exfoliate hydrating and brighten my skin..for sensitive skin I don't recommend use on daily. After this toner I use cerva PM moisturizer..and it come with great result
I use witch-hazel on a cotton pad to cleanse my skin. It's very gentle and it's 100% natural. I have sensitive dry skin and this product works wonderfully. I use T.N. Dickinson's witch hazel. I add a bit of essential peppermint oil to make it more refreshing. After, while my skin is still moist i apply a hyaluronic acid serum and rub that in with my fingers. Then i apply a hyaluronic acid moisturizer. I like to add a bit of essential peppermint oil to that also . Everything i use to cleanse and moisturize my face is unscented.
I use toner without knowing if I really need it or how much it is actually helping. It just adds to the ritual of skincare and the sensorial experience. I'm using one with salycilic acid now. During the cold weather I'll try an hydrating one.

I started using Eucerin toner this week. Will be using Eucerin products for the first months of 2024 and if the results are good I will be using it for the rest of the year
I use any where from 2 to 4 different toners it all depends on what my skin needs because use serums and ampoules which work better on a damp surface. On my exfoliating days I use Wishtrend Mandelic Acid with a thin sponge Like Pad and after about 1-2 minutes or when my face is no longer wet I will then use my hands to pat on cica care purifying toner but its so thin and it drys quickly but I love love the Klairs supple preparation unscented toner which prepares my skin for next items in my skin routine which may or may not include my Hadalabo hyaluronic toner which they call a lotion but it's really a toner but it adds a plumping feel to my skin before I put on moisturizer and sunscreen.
I have normal skin however i made it sensitive/dry in the late noughties/ early 2000s by using toner. In those days, the formulations were limited to harsh, exfoliating astringents. It took years to get my skin back to normal. I only discovered this year that toners have moved on amd are actually very beneficial with the new ingredients and formulations.

My beautiful rose water & witch hazel toner wipes are actually designed with a pH of 3.75-4 to exfoliate BUT be suitable for sensitive skin plus prepare the skin to absorb your active serums easier, then the face mist will bring your pH back up to 5.5. mistake 3 threw me for a loop 🤣 I used to apply toner with my palms then when I learned more I realized it made more sense to use a cotton pad for the extra exfoliation + it gets whatever dirt that my cleanser didn't get. so all that time I was just rubbing dirt around my face. so when I heard mistake #2 I was like oh no wait has my life been a lie this whole time 🥴 mistake #3 sent me lol but it makes sense to adjust the application methods accordingly. I also remember in the past I was getting what I believe was contact dermatitis or something on my fingers from apply an acidic cleanser with my hands, big no no.

I have dry skin and I always use hydrating toners, my favorite is the laneige cream skin
Thanks for sharing!!
mistake 3 threw me for a loop 🤣 I used to apply toner with my palms then when I learned more I realized it made more sense to use a cotton pad for the extra exfoliation + it gets whatever dirt that my cleanser didn't get. so all that time I was just rubbing dirt around my face. so when I heard mistake #2 I was like oh no wait has my life been a lie this whole time 🥴 mistake #3 sent me lol but it makes sense to adjust the application methods accordingly. I also remember in the past I was getting what I believe was contact dermatitis or something on my fingers from apply an acidic cleanser with my hands, big no no.
Please recommend toners for combination skin ?
