If your state law allows it claim the prize through a blind trust to keep your name out of it.
The only person outside of your lawyers and financial advisors you should tell is your spouse. Do not tell siblings, parents, children, etc.
Start a business, preferably an internet business. Then let people think that your lottery winnings are profits from the business. You could call it a form of money laundering.

Keep the loyal friends and family you had before, don't be out show boating. Help other good people trying in your community..stay humble and discreet about it. Don't put yourself in bad situations.
My first advice to singles out there, who have won the lottery, is to have a watertight prenuptial agreement before getting married.

I seen people at the stores spending $100-$200 on tickets thinking it’s going to increase their odds of winning. I’d rather take my chances on a game with better odds but lower payout like the super lotto plus

The best advice is to behave like old money. New money buys a McMansion and Lamborghinis, attracts gold diggers and leeches, never says no because they thrive on attention, and always goes broke in five years. Old money invests, doesn’t waste money on depreciating assets, and keeps a low profile.

I would set up a meeting with all the adults in my family for a meeting. ( I'm widower now ) fortunately all my adult family are educated tried and true , level headed and reasonably successful in there on right. Thereby following a democratic out line using the voting process and electing the most capable for oversight in matters of setting up various trust and hiring attorneys and accountants for tax's and for various things like education for all the grand kids etc. Banking and investments. Other issues of security and privacy is an absolute must at the top of the list. It is obvious that having come into wealth that quickly requires serious oversight.

Logic: If 80%-90% of lottery players go bankrupt. 99% of lottery winners take the lump sum, then it seems the smart thing would be to take the annuity.
That would depend on how old you are. If you’re older, an annuity will outlast your life! Or, your state could go bankrupt and you’d lose your money. “A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.” It also depends on how you plan to spend it. If you want to invest in land, you may need a lump sum in order to keep up with property taxes. I saw a guy once who lost his new house to foreclosure because his annuity didn’t come fast enough!

Thanks youtube after 5 years it back to 1 billion or close to it on both. My best advice get a lawyer fast. If someone handed me the winner ticket I ask nicely i have a problem do you mind if I call them our machine is malfunctioning and can sign this please. Id buy a simple beach house and hire a nutritionist/trainer, travel some, invest some, give to humane society, give to cancer, give to poor people i see with a good heart condition and morals..id focus on not living a materialistic life but a healthy happy stress free life, mental health, Build my relationship better with God with more time.

nope, the Federal tax rate is 37% plus state depending on where you live. A lot of deductions was removed in last years tax overhaul plan.
