Using Clay to Make Car Parts! Custom Bumper Design - 928 Ep. 28
Вставка
- Опубліковано 28 кві 2023
- In this episode, we continue work on the Porsche 928 Widebody in preparation for the PCA Annual Swap Meet on Saturday, April 29. Ryan works on fine tuning the metal work on our hand-formed steel and aluminum quarter panels. While that happens, Tony makes a trip to pick up the brand new front bumper plug for the 928, which has been skillfully crafted out of fiberglass resin. Our goal with our videos is to document the process, share what we know and also provide entertainment along the way. If you enjoyed this week's video, please drop a like so we can continue to keep growing and afford to increase quality, have longer videos, and eventually be able to do two videos a week!
Thanks for your support, friends!

Thanks for another great video on the progress! Love seeing the composites process...
Thank you!
This is so special.
Thank you! 😁
@@CrucibleCoachworks I hope the clay sculpting leads to molds that lead to metal body panels that you can sell.
What you guys do is magic: you turn car fans dreams into reality!
Love the scollop, its clean and a bit OEM+. New bumpers are going to look amazing!

Awsome vidio . Really like the behind the scene build of the process of the front bumper plug.
I've been seeing shorts of your build on Facebook and couldn't find anything elsewhere until this populated on my feed today. Awesome work guys, the 928 is my second favorite Porsche from my childhood, stocked to see the full build here.,
The new line on the back bumper is siiick!
Thank you!
Amazing episode, cant wait to see how the bumpers end up
Roger can sign autographs in one way, slightly forceful impact with forehead will leave a mark.
😂😂😂😂
Amazing work as always and great vibe in the shop! Awesome video!
I can' wait to see the finished product here.
I love the rear wide fenders!
Admiro muito esse trabalho em metal, o carro vira uma obra de arte
at 22:40 , personally think the bumper vent should line up with the rear bumper line above . not criticizing the amazing work , i just know the more opinions the better
Appreciate the input! Cheers!
I use to work at that shop in Harrisburg Pa ,some years ago.
Top left or right side of the front bumper looks like a goot spot for an embossed logo - either crucible or porsche, like on the original rear bumper. Anyway, great episode. Love that its a bit longer with lots of interesting detail.
More short form clock app videos would be nice though. I've subscribbled there
I will be at Carlisle Performance and Style with me SR20DET Ford Maverick. I hope to see you there!!
Can you make a video about how you do your pricing for customers when they want a custom metal widebody done on their car?
Adobe, the sassy new Mexican import that's made out of clay! (RIP Phil Hartman)
✨Hey hey it’s Adobe!✨
If you make the headlights and taillights LED as in the new Porsches, I think it will look very stylish.
Also, if you make the exhausts symmetrical, like 2 on the left, 2 on the right, or 1 on the left and 1 on the right, if the exhaust designs have a shape that suits the image of the vehicle, I think it will look very nice.
By the way, I was wondering if you will make the interior of the car an original or a more up-to-date sporty look?
I'm sure a very nice car will come out at the end of the work, I wish you good luck and good work.:)
WoW just WoW phenomenal craftsmanship. Any idea what color you’re going to paint it and what are your plans for the interior, also is it a manual transmission
Thank you! Color is TBA, interior the same - however it is indeed a manual!
I'm curious about what kind of clay to attach to the bumper and where to buy it.
use a spacer adapter on the center where the wheel will sit after you have determined the width of the screens an arm that can be adjusted from the center where the wheel will sit a wide roll of soft felt in three sizes 20 cm 15 cm 10 centimeters now you can shape each screen easily and they will be exactly as you roll out the screen with the help of the rollers, the roller follows the rotation and makes the screen come as far forward as back as straight up, since the roller is on the inside of the screen, it is easy to shape it
Looking good gents.
Are you guys going to paint the carbon bumpers or leave them exposed carbon?
Have you chosen a color for the car yet?
We plan to paint the bumpers! Color is TBA. 👀
Hey can you post a link to we’re you buy that clay? Thank you
goddamn its gorgeous
✨✨✨
👍😎
hi guys love the vids ,just wanted to let you know about a 3d printed porsche motor twin turbo flat 6 ,by a rc guy that did the design , .its' Harley desings inc were the print is reckon youd love it
That is nice. Myself I do not care for the Corvette vents up front or the Supra rocker vents.
How much is a plug like that, also is that medium or soft clay?
Finalmente
