For years, I used half of an old set of dividers (borrowed) from school, to scribe styrene sheet. When I lost that, I used a tungsten-carbide tipped engineer's scriber. I've never looked back. As well as scribing lines, it can be used to start holes for drilling. Unsurprisingly, it scribes ZAMAC rather well, too. Looking forward to part 2! Your scratchbuild is looking awesome. Nice one.
Gives me a Chubby...spit my beer out I laughed so hard.... damn near choked to death...hahahahaha. That is going to be a kick ass carrier. Looks so cool already. You have mad skills my man!!!
Really nice cab, I'm not too sure about the steep angle on the rear bed though, may be better being longer and lower, but I look forward to the results!
Fantastic build and video. I love the narrative. One suggestion is get a 2 inch by 2 inch piece of foam or wood and cut/drill a whole the size of the bottle of cement to keep the bottle from tipping over. You WILL eventually knock it over without something to secure it. Don't ask how I know. Dave
Excellent video, have paintedlots of tabletop gaming figures and some cars in that scale but never really used styrene like this. Definatly need to get an airbrush im pretty good with brushes but the finish on your cars are gorgeous
Very cool! Amazing build, so small and in part II it is so well detailed! I see you also caught the bug based on Surface Nick's rendering! I am constructing one out of styrene as well. Mine is a bit larger though as I am building in 1:10 scale. My length is over 30" - width is over 8'.
Saw the thumbnail and thought cool you made the back of the car hauler. Had no idea you were scratch building the whole thing. Pretty amazing so far looking damn good.
Love playing with the plastics but I've never bought the weld for it, just use crazy glue. It would appear I am going to have to get some, much nicer finish and easier to deal with.
Hey Diecast Resurrection. Instead of using the Plastruct Plastic Solvent. Go to your Hardware Store in their paint section look for MEK solvent. Its just about the same as the Plastic solvent that you are using. It will melt the plastic also. In fact Plastruct is made out of MEK with things added to it. It will save you money too.
The first thing I thought of when I heard Winnebago was Race with the Devil from probably 74 or 75. Can't wait to see how this turned out so I'll cut this short and get going to the ne
I was waiting for you to tip the Bondene bottle over. Been there and done that. Since it literally evaporates even when the top is closed I have a glue product that is more easier to use. Faller Super-Expert # 170490. Works like Bondene, has a metal thin diameter tip so no accidental spillage and won't be contaminated by the brush which makes Bondene turn to goop towards the end. I now use it exclusively . If the metal tip gets clogged use a thin wire to clean it out. Love your scratchbuilding work so far! This is gonna be a cool transporter!
Get some thin styrene and make the door and trim so there's more depth to it, really cool build.

Damn you picked up the styrene game with the quickness.... excellent stuff.
Really nice cab, I'm not too sure about the steep angle on the rear bed though, may be better being longer and lower, but I look forward to the results!
you could always ad a 5th wheel spot also for your trailer. I was wishing you left the original camper grill so you could have built off that also.
If you use super glue with an accelerator you can insta-set the piece before you add your weld. Great looking WinnieHauler
You gotta say ,"I'm happy with that", in an Aussie accent, mate ;^) (8:59). Cool build!

Freakin’ cherry, man! Can’t wait to see the finished Winnie.
Great work, if you want to build something with round corners I suggest looking for rounded packaging materials that you can use.

Hot damn this is going to be awesome. Love these custom polystyrene builds.
What's the durability like on this stuff? Is there anything you do during the process to strengthen it?
Its really tough once its all bonded together nice. I'd probably have to stomp on it to break it.
What a killer idea. Cant wait to see how it turns out.
Very cool. Can't wait for part two. Makes me want to try building my own..
