This reminds me a lot of other things in the series.
In days for example, Xion shows her face to Roxas after a bit, so we see her as Xion everytime we see through Roxas, but everytime someone else looks at her, they see her with her hood up. Xigbar even sees Ventus.
On a same tangent, at the end of KH2, we have the way Roxas and Namine talk about seeing themselves, the way they remembered each other, even tho they didn't look like themselves on the surface

I like how you link in how Sora can see through Yozora's current... body? ... and perceive the real him. It links up with another instance in 0.2 Fragmentary Passage, where Aqua meets Terra and he explains that she's seeing him as he used to be rathwr than as he is now (ie Terranort) because her heart recognises him that way. Add into this the case of Xion, and we have a real cache of signs pointing us to the answer. The way people appear to us is changed depending on how we want to/think they should be. It's brilliant, and the idea's been filtering down to us for so long now without us realising it.

What makes it worse is that Sora also tends to put up a positive attitude to mask his real emotions, and tends to tie his self-worth to how much other people like him, and how his friends are feeling, making the two foils to each other.

This is the best I've seen the theme of imagination and reality be explained and how it fits with all the weird mysteries in the series right now. The concept of people perceiving someone differently isn't even exactly new to the series because it happens with Xion. The Sora and Yozora cutscene is starting to make sense now.

MoM disappearing because nobody knows the real him sounds like how real life myth and legend goes from truth and real people to fictional myths and legends and heroes. I don't think it's a coincidence that so many characters since UX have been named after mythological figures. Especially Sigurd who is important enough to narrate the KH4 trailer and show up at the end of UX. In real life no one knows the real person who inspired the mytholigical figure of Sigurd its just guesses. I think that's what Nomura is going for thematically but I never realized that the MoM was mythologizing himself!!

Its interesting too there is a concept in Hinduism where Krishna appears to everyone differently based on their understanding/ascension. Some people see them as a child while other see them as an adult and this is also seen in yhe gnostic gospels. People would see Jesus based on their understanding or faith. Some people see him as a child and others see him as an adult. This video on MoM was making me think of that concept too

This theory seems more likely to me than Sora being the MoM. It makes a lot of sense that the MoM's personality in comedy and sarcasm is either a charade/cover up OR his desire to do anything he can to be likeable. That part of his personality does come off a few times when he says things like "you were supposed to be amazed at my genius!" Or it could be a combination. Demi meaning half and Demyx's name is good. I still think there's something interesting about Yozora having one blue eye and one red eye and the no name keyblade potentially having his other real one. It will deep and mysterious with lots of winding roads to make the connections but this theory seems to have a few of the paths linked.

9:50 I've had a theory about this for years, but before thar let me tell you I just found your channel and I love your videos! I've always been curious about Type-0 but I didn't know it had so many interesting concepts in it and I would love to see more Type-0 related content from you!
If I'm right the reason why Rex calls Sora Yozora is because Yozora just looks like Sora, it's just that simple... Ok let me explain:
I'm pretty sure that the body Yozora is inhabiting in what we've seen of verum Rex is not his, but of a person named Sora, and that Yozora's true body looks like Sora's the same way his current body looks like Riku's, almost identical to the point that if you were to make a simplified toy of them(like the shape Sora takes in the Toy Story world) you would have a hard time finding the differences. Since Rex has learned about Yozora's story through playing it as a game then it makes sense that he would know stuff like this the same way we KH players know that Terra and Terranort are two totally different persons but Luxu and Xigbar are the same person.
I could go more into detail(I have an old Reddit post with a lot more observations about this that I could just copy paste here) but I think I've already rambled too much about this in a video that isn't even about that topic LOL

    • @flagfighter
      @flagfighter  Рік тому +2

Thank you! And thank you for your thoughts. It took me a minute to realize what you're suggesting. So, Rex thinks that Sora is Yozora despite the fact that he doesn't look like Yozora because Rex has played a game where Yozora - at some point - looks like Sora? LOL That's... I mean, I can't say it's wrong! That would actually be pretty funny. 😂
Any thoughts on who did that to him? And to the Nameless Star? Most people seem to think that it's a case of body-swapping, but that's not how it sounds to me. What she describes doesn't seem to match up with anything we've seen before. It makes it sound like someone took his heart out of his body and replaced it with a different one. And yet, he still knows that he's Yozora, even if he's forgotten about other things, such as the Nameless Star. She says that he needs to "regain his original heart." So... His original heart is somewhere else right now? It's so easy to blame the MoM for everything just because he's mysterious, but I can't think of why he would do that. Unless it was for an experiment or something. Maybe we don't have enough info yet...

    • @Poruasecas
      @Poruasecas Рік тому

@@flagfighter not gonna lie I've never stopped to think about the why or the how of the situation, and I kinda forgot about the nameless star lol, but I'm 95% sure thar the Sora yozora is talking about is the owner of his current body because of how his conversation with Sora plays out.
Right as it starts the first thing we see from Yozora is that he's surprised that Sora knows him, but his tone isn't aggressive yet, if he is indeed living in someone else's body then someone he doesn't know recognising him would put him on edge, specially if he's trying to cover it up for some reason. Right after this Sora calls him by his real name and his tone becomes more aggressive(this is a good point to clarify that I am assuming that 1. Nomura is a good writer that would think carefully about the dialogue instead of just writing whatever he thinks about, which I believe, and 2. That the translation team and the English dub direction understand him and are competent, which I'm not so sure about sadly), probably because he sees that as a threat to his cover or maybe just because only someone dangerous to him(like the responsible for the body swap) would know that. After this Sora tells him his name, and shocks Yozora even more than Sora recognising him or knowing his name. When Sora asks him if he knows him he takes longer to respond than before and his response is really basic, as if he's assessing how much of a threat Sora is and doesn't want to reveal more information than necessary. After Sora finishes talking out loud he waits again, his response is pretty harsh, but the most important part here(and the most important part about this conversation for this theory)is that he has concluded that Sora isn't Sora, asking him why he's using that name. There are a lot of possible reasons for this, Yozora says he's heard about Sora, so maybe he just isn't acting the way he hears about, if you take the dialogue at face value this is the only answer you could infer from this conversation, but if someone is not the way you've heard about you don't automatically think he's not that person, you could think he's wearing a mask, you could think the info you got was false, but you definitely don't jump straight intl name theft. I think the reason why Yozora sounds so confident is because if Sora really was the Sora he's thinking about them he would have claimed his body, he was probably expecting him to do so when he told Sora "are you done?".
I'm not really as good at explaining this as I wish I was, but I swear it makes for me LOL

A few things: Idk why I never sub'd when I watched the previous video, but I remember not commenting due to having not played Type-0 in full yet (I still haven't woops). So I'm doing all that now, because I definitely agree with and enjoy a lot of your points.
I love this video just as much and I yelled "I knew it!" upon you mentioning Demyx name is literally Demi-X. Even further than that replacing the y with i also spells Diem which of course leads to the latin phrase "carpe diem" & fits the persona that Demyx exhibits (and MoM to an extent). Another way is Idem means "the same" in latin so "Idem as X".
It's also interesting (though I admit might be a stretch), another anagram of Demi is Medi also means "middle". the fact that you are comparing Jack Type-0 to Demyx & MoM, while people pointed out that Jack Stranger of Paradise looks a lot like Luxord... a character who is stated to be designed as a stranger in the world of Final Fantasy. So I'm almost tempted to read it as MoM existed first, then Demyx was created followed by Luxord. This would make sense for Demyx and Luxords numbers being 9 and 10 respectively - also Demi-X could also be read as Demi-10. (As well as lines up with the timeline of MoM doing everything he needed to do before disappearing followed by Lauriam & Elrena going into the future and being found.) There's also the fact that Jack SiP and Luxu share the same VA like Demyx shares with Jack T-0, Sora shares the same VA with Eight (who looks similar & has some similar traits) and Roxas + Ventus share the same VA as Joker (who has the power of suffering & has a blunt and informal way of speaking, and his agito design looks similar to Eight even if the wiki is telling me he should look like Machina). Which very well could mean nothing, but felt relevant to bring up as in the back of my mind I have had the thought that MoM, Demyx and Luxord (and perhaps Luxu) could all be the same person. Again, it feels like reaching but on another hand, I like it too much not to mention it.
While rewatching the previous video I noticed you mentioned the other Foretellers matched a lot of the characters of Type-0, and having Gula & Eight line up I feel fits in with the theory that Gula could be Sora's ancestor. I also can't help the feeling I get seeing Joker lining up with Luxu, and the theory of Luxu being the nobody of or a fragment of MoM.
On the topic of Demyx not realizing or forgetting that he and MoM are the same, I wonder if it could be similar to how Roxas and Sora are. Roxas had no memories of Sora, or even Ventus, due to Sora's memories being messed with during his year and Roxas developed his own heart and became his own person during that time. (We still don't know if Sora disappearance affected Roxas in any way.) What if MoM's disappearance caused Demyx' amnesia, the only memory he had being "guiding key", and ultimately leading him to believe that it was someone else who would say it to him. The only other option would be Demyx being Luxu, but with the theory that Luxu is part of MoM or was created by him somehow I feel like it loops back around to the same conclusion as Luxu's ability to mimic other's features could lead to a loss of identity/original self.
Also, the mention of MoM needing to keep his hood up to drive people's imaginations felt very familiar. I almost thought you might have been going in the direction that the MoM we know of could be a replica as this idea of imagination screams Xion to me. The way she has her hood up and everyone has a different perception of her appearance until they get close to her. Roxas & Axel at first sees someone with their hood up until they become friends with her, Xigbar sees Ventus, & Saix sees a simple faceless puppet. I wouldn't be surprised if Xemnas, Larxene, and Marluxia also would have seen Ventus (not that Xemnas would even remember much), and everyone else would have seen a puppet/someone with their hood up or even someone else related to Sora. I would hazard a guess that what tethered her was a select few knowing exactly who & what she is?
BUT I do really like the idea of the reason why Luxu even told people about the box was to cause this confusion that would cause it to disappear. The reason he has it at the end of 3/Remind makes me think that the black box was holding the real box, hence the lines "what kind of black is the box? is it even black? was it ever actually black? stupid people only look for a black box. " make more sense. (Also, the "what kind of box the black box actually is or what's inside" is much like a computer black box "a system viewed in terms of its inputs and outputs (transfer characteristics) without any knowledge of its internal working". The input of whatever is in the box and output of going out of bounds into Unreality due to having no knowledge of how the box works.) The Super box could be a red herring for the actual prize inside causing the real box to fade from reality.
This is getting pretty long and I could probably keep going with my musings, but I'll stop here to save you from my own madness. lol Again, I really appreciate this video! I've been craving new KH content to consume and mull over so hopefully this tides me over some until you either release your next video or we get news. ;w; Looking forward to more! Also, congrats on the mic upgrade!

Thank you so much! These are all excellent thoughts!! It makes me so happy to see other people thinking about this stuff now, too. I was alone in my little KH-meets-Type-0 corner for too long. There are sooooooo SOOOOOO many ideas and theories that could come from this stuff, and I can only think so many thoughts as just one person! Now we can all start putting our brains together. 🤯
After you play Type-0, you should check out my translation of FF Agito's main story. (You can find it on my tumblr blog, "nanakibh". I have it pinned.) I briefly mentioned it here, but it feels like there's a significant connection between Sora and the Agito player who's supposed to be the true Agito. I think you'd find that interesting.
I have a number of video ideas now. That might have to be one of them. lol I get the feeling that Demyx mentioning that he wanted friends is just the beginning of something that might carry through to the end of the series. I look at how the Darkness refer to the MoM as their "friend", but then see how he wants to eliminate them... And then I look at how Sora wanted to befriend Vanitas even though Vanitas thinks that people and Darkness can't coexist... Like, I just get the feeling that Sora will ultimately succeed in befriending Vanitas and that could be the thing that finally makes the MoM snap. The MoM tried so hard to defeat them, but in the end, Sora could prove that the MoM had always been taking the wrong approach. If he'd just acknowledged them as his friends, maybe they could have been harmless. The friends he wanted were RIGHT THERE and he tried to DESTROY THEM.
I think I'm rambling now, too. Hopefully you enjoyed my thinky thoughts. lol I have many Luxu-related thoughts, too... I will save them for another time.

I just wanna make sure I understand this theory, because it is SUPER interesting; true or not.
MoM meticulously hid his true self and intentions so much that there was no trace of who he truly was in the realm they call, "reality." Therefore, his true nature entered the realm of, "unreality" as a being separated from his original self, leaving his fictional self, "Demi X" in his place while his true self is free to roam the other side.
If that's right, that is incredibly consistent with Kingdom Hearts' absurdity while also giving some interesting development for the remaining Organization XIII members without backstory.
It may even be possible that Xion could play a hand in accessing the fictional world and helping Sora, since when she was wiped away from all memory , she also became a fictional being until revived, especially the way Naminé phrased how her destruction in 358/2 would make it so that, "There isn't a you to remember." That and her line about Sora, 'Going where she belongs.' from when you lose against her data self possibly implying her knowing that he is going to this other world? (If not simply just oblivion) May be a stretch, but I'd hate for her and the others to get stranded out of the story, so there could be a basis for her to have some prior knowledge of this world

You're close! I think I probably confused you when I said that Xemnas only brought back Demyx. I think that the MoM was still in there. It's just that they mentally switched places upon being brought back to reality. Even if the MoM could've switched places with Demyx again, I don't think he would've wanted to at that point. lol He may have even hidden himself behind Demyx so to speak as soon as Xemnas saw his face. (There are a number of ways you could rearrange this scenario.)
There was a good span of time where he was able to explore Quadratum - nearly Xehanort's whole lifetime. The time he spent in the Organization was very short in comparison.
I do wonder if Xion and Namine will have bigger roles. It feels like they would fit right in with this theme. I'll have to ponder them... 🤔

  • @Fragmentsinfractals488

I believe Singularity means that that person who is called that has their Effect be their Cause. Namely, Young Xehanort is only able to get off Destiny Island because Ansem, Seeker of Darkness time traveled to the past to get him off the Islands. Thus, his journey is Caused by future effects of his existence and is Paradoxical. This makes everything he does contingent on everything else he does because it already happened even before it happened..
Thus, I believe the Master of Master is similar. The Master existence is Time Transcended, I think. Therefore, the Master is a person/ people we know in the Future who went to the past to set up The Timeline because everything that happened already happened.
It is basically a way to make things "Destined".
To be a Singularity is to be a Walking Time loop Paradox person. This happens when you perform forbidden action and sacrifice the body to release the Heart, usually to time travel. When you do, every version of you across your timeline(s) gain the ability to time travel and future and past premonitions about what you have done and will do. And every version of you becomes contingent on each other whether you are aware of it or not.
Note: Ability to time travel doesn't mean power to. That must be obtained from a Source i.e Darkness/ Wizard Magic.

It's really easy to explain how young Xehanort is an anomaly, though.
When he saw the Player's memories, Xehanort noticed that his mother looked like Skuld, which implies that Skuld was probably one of his ancestors. Originally, Skuld was sent to the future, around the time of BBS, where she was captured by Ansem and became known as Subject X. Luxu (Braig) took her and hid her somewhere where no one was able to find her. Apprentice Xehanort had one of the lifeboat machines in the Radiant Garden castle. Ansem, Seeker of Darkness existed in the Future and goes back to *get Young Xehanort* off the islands.
This means everything between Young Xehanort getting off the island and Ansem, Seeker of Darkness existing now has to happen. It is Destined and Singular and cannot go any other way.
The Master makes these Singularities to force Destiny to go a certain way, as scripted.
And I theorize he turned himself into one of them. Which is why he knows everything that is going to happen. Because it already happened.

@@flagfighter Another point, since I have been thinking, I believe The Master of Master sees no harm in telling Young Xehanort his name, and telling him the fact is a Lost Master, is because he already been through the Timeline once. He knows that the name telling that he wasn't aware of the first time still got him, Sora and Riku to Unreality and cause Darkness to lose. Because he time transcended and he is still connected to the version of himself from the first time and has his Eye as a anchor point ( two versions of himself), He can know what will effect the Destined Timeline and what will not.
Think of Base Kh3 and Re Mind Sora. Re Mind Sora was always there in Base Kh3, we just didn't see him. And Re Mind Sora actions caused Kairi to "just appear" back in Base KH3. Which means everything Re Mind Sora did happened in Base KH3. We just didn't *see it with our own eyes* . But Sora would have.
So, I think the Master of Masters is the Future Version of a person who made everything from the Time before Union X to the end of Kingdom Heart 3 like the points Sora makes from the beginning of Keyblade Grave Yard fight to the End of it.
Then the Master inserts himself through out this massive timeline to shift variables in the background for himself "the first Time". But of course, he was always there, just like Re Mind Sora was always there. And then, he fades to Unreality after reaching the point where Riku and Sora perform Singularity and create a Timeline where Darkness loses and Sora saves Kairi. (End of Kh3)
And now Sora and Riku, his latest Singularities and the Chosen are stuck there with Him.

Good video! I love tier 3 and 4 questions and theories, and it really sounds like you know what you're talking about. I see a lot of other 'theory channels' get even basic facts wrong and twist what's actually happened in the series just to get an ultimately irrelevant point across, and at least from the KH perspective I'm not really seeing that here.
There's already so much precedent being set with people seeing things differently than they are, like how kairi can see riku in ansem's body and sora starts to hear riku's voice, the entirety of Xion's existence in 358, and potentially even with the 'true dandelion' from UX, some people see a walking strelitzia while it looks like luxu is carrying an empty robe. Could it be it wasn't important what the true dandelion actually is, but rather that it's just important that people have *something* to project what they see onto? Just like how saix could only see a replica in xion, perhaps luxu is seeing a 'truer' from? I'm surprised none of the examples of this kind of thing being done come up in your video, because I think parallels and precedent are super important to the kh series. (I'm curious to know what your take on demyx turning into water is, and what that means for the rest of the MoM. A certain theory equates water= a facsimile to darkness, like what would come about if a person with no darkness in their heart turned into a heartless).
Also precedent for memories being tied to existence, xion's death, maleficent's return, and marluxia using his thoughts about his sister as a waypoint to travel into the future as well as the MoM saying you need someone who remembers you in the place you want to end up.
Also, you have caused me to splinter off from your theory, because demyx turns to water do you think that there's a chance that it's an instance where, like ventus, the MoM actually did hold one of the darknesses in his heart, and he didn't successfully keep it inside but instead it split out of him leaving pure light in the form of demyx and everything else inside of the MoM? Like, does the darkness just keep up appearances afterwards because people's perception of who the master of masters is important to their plans? Do you think that could have been an additional reason he talked to the darkness so much, so that they could pull off a successful impersonation? Do you think that's why the darkness would be so obsessed with this 'singularity'? It's something that the darkness doesn't know exactly what to do with, and it had been trying to follow the prophesy exactly as is? Do you think the darkness may have actually told xehanort his name was "X", which started xehanort down the path of obsession with the character (I don't think he had brought it up previous to this incident), but xehanort took it more metaphorically, leading to him to try and figure out the information he says about it later ('the symbol of death' stuff) and that's why he says he never learned who the guy was, he took it as a riddle? It would be a good way to have demyx be demi-x without his name even originally being x. I have a mini-joke-theory that riku's kh2 outfit was actually the org cloak purified in the light blast, and like 'shrunk down', and that's why his belly button is out because it's the basic cloak shape but sized to a jacket (and we more or less know they don't wear anything underneath, maybe the DarkMoM did the inverse with the true dandelion cloak? (lmao)
Additionally, I have a theory about the potential meaning of gears in the series (darkness/the concept of 'from someone'), but I feel like that's too much to get into, if you have some way you wouldn't mind me dming you about it, I'd definitely like to have a conversation with you, I would love to hear your thoughts.

I think you'll be surprised to hear that I hadn't considered the way that other characters have seen people differently before. lol I was focused mainly on these examples that seem to be tied to the future story, but you make an excellent point. The precedent for something like this seems like it's always been there when you put it that way.
Demyx doesn't quite turn into water, but he can make copies of himself by manipulating water. That whole concept is interesting.
We know that the MoM has a Darkness inside of him like the others. At least, it seems pretty certain? Your idea is interesting. It's possible. I think I lean towards thinking something else, though. The Darkness are attracted to people who are experiencing strong negative emotions. I've wondered if the MoM always acts cheerful as a way to withstand them. That would fit with Jack again. I'll copy this whole part from FF Agito where Jack talks about his emotions.
("To tell you the truth, since way back, I’ve figured that I should smile when things get tough. See, if things aren’t looking good and you make a troubled face, you’ll just make the people around you worry, and that’s no good, right? I don’t want everyone to get depressed because of me… I can’t keep everyone’s spirits up that way. But, after being like this for so many years, it seems I can’t really express my emotions anymore. I mean, obviously, I thought it wasn’t a big deal, but… For some reason, I get the feeling I might have discarded some really important things. I already forgot how to cry a long time ago…")
If the MoM won't/can't express negative emotion, that would explain how he's survived alongside the Darkness for so long without succumbing to them. He would be like the opposite of Vanitas. Rather than being an entity of pure negative emotion, he's like a being of pure positive emotion. Jack is always positive, but it's because he can't be anything other than positive, which leads to toxic positivity. So, even if the MoM is the opposite of Vanitas, that doesn't make him the "good one." Additionally, if he's been withstanding the Darkness with such a mentally-draining, unsustainable method, there's gotta be a point where he snaps, right? lol Perhaps all of Demyx's relaxation is just a bandaid covering a festering wound that will worsen without being properly treated...
I think that the MoM's interest was in CREATING the singularity. Despite how he tried to make it seem like he didn't care one way or the other, I think he wanted someone to save the world. Having someone like Xehanort who could test Sora was part of the plan. (It's also... Very Type-0! They're like the Judge and Agito.) I think he needed to hide his intentions because............ he was being guided by the thing in the box. If he openly expressed his own will in a way that went against the destined course of history, bad things would've happened to him. Like being turned to crystal. I may or may not be implying that he's (like) a l'Cie.
I could talk about this stuff forever. lol I don't really want to share my social media here because then everyone will see how unhinged I am, but you can give me yours and I'll follow you back.

Here are some crunchy videos. ua-cam.com/video/Mg2ydt4RXJw/v-deo.html this is larxene's death, there's a few main effects, there's the rectangular displacement (pretty impossible to see in the video- and irrelevant), dark flakes coming off of her, and one major darkness pillar. This pillar is seen again in kh3 but it happens to non-nobodies too I think so I don't know if it changes the lore on it or if it was just attempting to convey they were beaten without thinking about narrative consistency. These effects are present on all organization members, I'm pretty sure. BUT ua-cam.com/video/1eaL2mR1u1M/v-deo.html This is Demyx's death. Instead of a pillar of darkness, he gets a pillar of water/bubbles. (This also makes me wonder if the black flaking is a property of the cloak itself)
It's said by most people I see who are breaking down UX and theorizing that the MoM (and luxu, I think) both didn't take darknesses within them, but I fail to recall the exact reasoning as to why because UX is my weakest point.

Xigbar's effect is also interesting because it looks like there are little wisps of light mixed in with the darkness for him. I have noooo idea if it really means anything, but nobody would be surprised if Nomura went "Oh yeah, that was totally intentional."
L'Cie can turn to crystal when they're defeated, but there's been nothing that would make me suspect that Sora is something like a l'Cie. Same with Kairi. Demyx on the other hand... That last line from his Character Files story is very suspicious. lol I joked that the MoM would crystallize, but if a l'Cie goes against their given Focus, they turn into Cie'ths. I'll probably have to try to explain this stuff in my next video. It's just... Perplexing. The way you're describing Jack is scarily close to Prompto's story from FF15... in the Brotherhood anime he wanted to change himself completely, his looks and personality so that he could become friends with prince Noctis, and then in game he is like the goofy, fun guy who's always smiling but has a lot of emotions underneath the happy mask he puts on. And Prompto and Demyx could actually be twins, and i feel like that's more of the direction they would take.
Most people know by now that Nomura is trying to resurrect Versus 13 within Kingdom Hearts. In the Verum Rex trailer in Toy Box we saw Yozora (Noctis), Stella (Nameless Star/Lunafreya), Magia (Ignis) and Aegis (Gladiolus) ... We never saw a Prompto there.
I know it's Nomura but i don't find it likely that he would try to connect the KH series to Type-0 or even FNC as a whole. FNC is over, and as much as i like Type-0, it is a game that not a lot of other people have played.
I liked the last video and yes some things fit but i feel like the whole Versus 13 thing fits more since it just makes sense he would want a chance to tell his story... he didn't write Type-0 ... We see Marluxia and Larxenes somebodys in KHUX and the only 2 left from THAT scene in KH3 are Demyx and Luxord, we see (or rather hear) Luxord in the cutscene after we beat Yozora, and no you can't tell me it isn't him because it 100% obviously is. Because with the password that Xemnas input into the Hollow Bastion computer to access the Chamber of Repose (another, which is an anagram of Xehanort minus the X), if Xehanort got his name after meeting the MoM, it could have been the MoM naming Xehanort his successor. Xehanort, 'another X'. Of course that falls apart if Xehanort already had his name before he first met the MoM. I actually really like this theory, Jack was my favorite character in Type-0 and I've thought for a while now that KH could be doing something similar with Demyx though I never considered the angle between Demyx and the MoM. Which while a fascinating point and an awesome theory it has made for. I think the possibility of MoM being Demyx, personally, is low. But none the less, an amazing idea, and one i would really enjoy seeing come true. I just have one problem with it.
I've always thought that the way Demyx and Luxord were designed, is more like how you would design support cast. Characters like Donald and Goofy, or Riku and Kiari or to step away from Kingdom Hearts. Characters like Lulu and Kimahri. Particularly in how their motives seem to be self serving on a glance but tend to play out in supportive ways across the larger narrative. They're actions define they're alignments more than their characters and it's the subtext of their actions and lines that fill out their character profiles.
So with that in mind, I reached a different conclusion here that I think is worth discussing. If they are indeed supposed to be supporting cast, then who were they supporting? The easy answer would've been Xemnas, if they stopped their character arcs in KH2. But with them becoming more prominent in the larger arc of the plot; and the fact that they continue to be written with these supportive roles in mind. Only stands to imply that they were never supporting Xehanort, nor any of his versions; and served to forward a different plotline.
Yep that's right, I genuinely believe that as the MoM begins to take a more prominent role, as the story continues. Demyx and Luxord will demonstrate that their endgames align with the MoM's. Which will finally reveal their full character arcs and desires. How does that tie in here? Well to state it simply I suspect that you may be right on the money with the MoM having been essentially changed due to everyone's varying perceptions, or rather they're beliefs, of him. I just don't think he's the only one.
My guess is that we'll find out in KH4 that Demyx and Luxord were originally from the same side of reality as Quadratum. But they were consumed by what other people believed they were, until they disappeared from their own realities. Having slowly lost their sense of self to everyone's beliefs and expectations of them. Once again showing the power of the heart but now in a negative way. Allowing them to be Foils for the MoM someone from our side (i.e. the perspective of characters we follow) of reality who was dragged similarly to the other side (i.e. Quadratum).
Which this next part is PURELY speculation with NOTHING to back it up. But I'm thinking that it'll be relevant because, this may allow the character to be freed of their expectations and to live as their true selves. Which I suspect that the MoM's plan after realizing this is to somehow use Kingdom Hearts. which is the only currently known point that ties both forms of "reality". to connect himself to both sides and to essentially become "More than Reality or Unreality" to become "Truth" or something along those lines. Which I believe is what the Darkness is and is part of why it/they can't be killed.
Anyways, I really love this theory and I think you did a phenomenal job in terms of both presentation and just the whole theory in general. Really awesome job on an awesome video. I definitely wouldn't have reached this conclusion without the work you put in here. Even though I may just be looking at small details WAY too closely... heck that's what theories are for, and I hope at least someone has fun reading this.

This was really thought-out, but I think the reality is actually extremely simple. I believe that Demyx is the MoM or is related to him closely in some way (being his Nobody, his light, a replica, a trained vessel, etc.) and I think that Luxord is Brain. If you look at Luxord's behavior in KH3 and Remind, it aligns perfectly with Brain. Luxord is an ancient wielders who doesn't seem to be committed to Xehanort's plans, and he acts antagonistically towards Xigbar. Xigbar's reaction to him implies that the two have a history that Xigbar isn't aware of - because he doesn't recognize him. You fight Luxord, Marluxia, and Larxene at the same time. It would make sense for those three to also have a history with each other, being Dandelions. Marluxia's and Larxene's faces appear on the cards held by Luxord's Gambler Nobodies. Meanwhile, Demyx is separate from that trio. He isn't on the Gamblers' cards. And, most importantly, Luxord seems determined to find the black box for his own reasons. Who had the black box last? Brain. Case closed. Can't believe Luxord=Brain isn't as popular as Demyx=MoM.
I suppose it isn't impossible for Demyx and Luxord to be from Quadratum, but the fact that they're supposed to be "ancient keyblade wielders" makes me believe that they were originally from the Age of Fairytales. MoM and Brain are conveniently the only two remaining KHUX characters whose whereabouts are unknown. (Besides Ava. She's a true mystery to me.)
I don't believe that Luxord would be on the MoM's side. His friendly exchange with Sora after his defeat in KH3 is a strong indicator that he's on Sora's side. He gave him the wildcard in the hope that it would be useful to him, so I can picture him trying to help Sora however he can in the future while also being a good source of information about the ancient past.
Anyway, I think I took a little bit of offense to you referring to them as "supporting cast." lol They may have been that way in the past, but the current mystery that surrounds them is so deep, it seems inevitable that they will step into the spotlight.
Also, I'm sorry if this came off harsh at all. 😅 I am really happy that you enjoyed the video. If you wish, you can ignore me. lol I'm always glad when people come up with new interpretations.

If you watch my previous video, I explain what the connection really seems to be. Basically, there's evidence that would suggest that the story of KHUX and the Lost Masters themselves are a reference to Agito XIII in the same way that Yozora and Verum Rex are a reference to Versus XIII. The character the MoM appears to be based on is just...... a Final Fantasy version of Demyx.

I think you've misinterpreted the Yozora stuff. First thing I want to mention is that It wasn't just Rex who recognized Sora as Yozora, Hamm also does. additionally, all of Sora, Donald, and Goofy think Yozora looks like Riku. Although it's entirely possible that in Rex and Hamm's eyes Yozora looks like Sora; and in Sora, Donald, and Goofy's eyes, Yozora looks like Riku (Xion looked like different to different people) I don't think that's the case here. I'll explain why soon.
Second thing is who Yozora is to The Nameless Star. Everyone seems to think that Yozora is The Nameless Star's friend-- he's not. What she says about her friend is, "he's been changed beyond all recognition-- his heart replaced with another's". There are two people mentioned here: "He", this is the Nameless Star's friend; and "another", the heart that replaced the Nameless Star's friend's heart. Here's what Sora says upon meeting and confirming that who he's talking to is Yozora, "that girl, she told me about you". "that girl" is almost definitely The Nameless Star, which means that Yozora is either her friend or the "another". The Nameless Star spoke in the past tense, meaning that her friend's heart has already been replaced and since who Sora is speaking to is Yozora, Yozora must be the "another" that replaced the heart of the Nameless Star's friend. Yozora even hints at this when he says "this isn't what I really look like". Yozora is not is in his own body, therefore his real body doesn't look like this.
So, why do Rex and Hamm recognize Sora as Yozora? Simple, they played Verum Rex, a game presumably about Yozora. It's entirely possible that they saw where Yozora came from-- they saw his real body before he was transferred into the current body we see him in. If they think that Yozora looks like Sora, it stands to reason that Yozora' real body looks like Sora.
Sorry for going on this tangent even though it's not really what the video is really about. I've just been kind of obsessed with Yozora/Verum Rex and I can't help but talk about it. I even made this channel to do just that. But to speak about the actual topic of your video, I think it's really interesting. MOM looking different depending on who's looking at him has precedent in KH lore. Like I mentioned earlier, Xion appears different depending on who's looking at her.

    • @flagfighter
      @flagfighter  Рік тому

True. Possible. Makes certain things make more sense, yes. I've thought of it like that before, too. In that case, everything I said still makes sense, but it's just kinda... In reverse with Sora being the one who isn't seeing Yozora properly. lol
I don't think that there's *literally* another heart replacing Yozora's, though. I get the feeling that it was just metaphoric in this situation. Yozora may have started off looking like Sora, but after someone messed with him extensively, he ended up looking and feeling different, and it even caused him to lose some of his memories. Perhaps the reality of fictional people is malleable. Think of it like someone rewriting his character. The same goes for the Nameless Star. She wasn't killed -- someone just erased her from the script, in a manner of speaking.
What sort of connection do you think Sora and Yozora share prior to meeting, if any?

    • @thekingdomspulse
      @thekingdomspulse Рік тому

@@flagfighter What connection do I think Sora and Yozora share? A lot.
I think that Yozora is a heartless of both Sora and Riku who was created during Dream Drop Distance when Sora fell to darkness while Riku was inside his heart:
      1. Yozora's connections with Sora:
First, is his name. In Japanese "Sora" means "sky" and "Yozora" means "night sky". You don't choose a name like that unless you're trying to connect the two
Second is Yozora's keyblade copy that he makes when they fight. It's not an exact replica of any keyblade we've seen before, but it looks most like the Ultima keyblade. The difference is that there is a crown on Yozora's where there is a heart on Sora’s. The crown is a symbol often associated with Sora.
Third, is the skull and crossbones on Yozora's sleeve. The skull has spiky hair like Sora and it is wearing a crown. Again a crown is a symbol associated with Sora. The crossbones aren't actually bones, they're two kingdom keys. Sora, of course, wields the kingdom key.
Fourth, is the line: “I’ve been having these weird thoughts lately, like is any of this for real or not” -Yozora
This is the first thing that we hear Sora ever say in Kingdom Hearts 1. Regardless of the ending you receive after the fight with Yozora, Yozora can be heard saying the same line overlayed with Sora saying it which further connects the two
      2. Yozora has the power of waking:
In KH3, Young Xehanort describes the power of waking as being the ability to traverse hearts to reach worlds. This is consistent with the way we first see it used in Dream Drop Distance when RIku uses it to wake Sora. If you recall, Riku dives down onto Sora's station of awakening (his heart) and after defeating Ventus' suit of armour, he is transported to Destiny Islands (a world). In Remind, before Sora and Yozora fight, the exact same thing happens: after Yozora points his crossbow at Sora, Sora's station of awakening (his heart) appears from underneath them, and then Quadratum (a world) appears around them. This is the power of waking and Yozora has it.
It's very strange that he has the power of waking because it’s a keyblade ability and Yozora doesn’t have a keyblade. What’s even more strange is that, even among keyblade wielders, it’s not an ability that’s commonly had. So far, the only people we’ve seen who know how to use it is Riku and Sora. We'll come back to this later.
For now, what’s important about Yozora using the power of waking is that we know where they are now. Since the power of waking takes you into the target's dream, they’re now in Sora’s dream. This provides additional context for what Yozora says next.
      3. Yozora's connections with Riku:
"I accidently wandered into this place and went through some trials. Then I was told to save Sora" -Yozora
With the added context of the power of waking, we can intrepret this as Riku's exact plot in Dream Drop Distance. To explain: First, Riku accidently wandered into Traverse town, but more importantly, he also accidentally wandered into Sora's dream where Yozora currently is; Second, Riku goes through the mark of mastery which Yen Sid explicitly compares to a trial ("more trial than test" -Yen Sid). Third, Yen Sid tells Riku to Wake Sora which is similar to "save Sora". Yozora spoke his line in the first person meaning he believes that this happened to him. This must mean that Yozora has Riku's memory and believes it to be his own.
The other and most obvious connection is that Yozora looks like Riku.
      4. Yozora’s body is not his own:
“You’re Yozora right, but that girl she told me about you” -Sora
"He’s been changed beyond all recognition-- his heart replaced with another" -Nameless Star
We learn from Sora that this statement by The Nameless Star is about Yozora. Since this statement is spoken in past tense and because Yozora is presently in control of the body, this must mean that Yozora is the “another” that replaced the heart of the Nameless Star’s friend and not the friend himself. From this we can establish that Yozora must be either a heart or a heartless, as these are the beings that can take over another's body. We learn this when, as a heart, Xehanort was able to take over Terra’s body (BBS), and as a heartless, Ansem, Seeker of Darkness was able to take over Riku’s body (KH1).
      5. Yozora's orignal body looks like Sora:
“This isn’t what I really look like” -Yozora
Since, he’s either a heart or heartless, what he really looks like, is the original body he comes from. So, what does his original body look like?
“you’re Yozora” -Rex and Hamm to Sora
Rex and Hamm recognize Sora as Yozora which is strange because we can see he doesn't look like sora. Sora, Donald, and Goofy all think that he looks more like Riku than Sora.
What we also know is that Rex and Hamm have played Verum Rex, a videogame presumably about Yozora considering his starring role in the Verum Rex trailer and box art. This means that, while playing Verum Rex, they would have seen Yozora's original body before he is removed from it and replaces the heart of the Nameless Star's friend. And if they think that Sora looks like Yozora, then Yozora's original body must at least looks like Sora, if not be Sora himself, for this to make sense.
      Continued in the next comment...

    • @thekingdomspulse
      @thekingdomspulse Рік тому

      6. The Creation of Yozora:
There are really only two ways that we know for a being to come from two people and also be able to take over another’s body. We know from Roxas (a nobody created from Sora and Ventus) and Xemnas (a nobody created from Xehanort and Terra) that nobodies can come from two people if the two hearts are sharing a body. Nobodies can’t take over another’s body. So, if Yozora was a nobody, he’d have to grow a new heart and then have that heart transferred. We know from Ansem, Seeker of Darkness, that the other way that a being can come from two people is to create a heartless when there are two people sharing a body.
So, is there a point in the Kingdom Hearts series where Sora and Riku share a body that creates either a nobody or a heartless? To create a nobody, there has to be an unoccupied body, but since both Sora and Riku both are currently inhabiting theirs, Yozora can’t be a nobody that gained a heart. To create a heartless, a heart must fall to darkness and be separated from the body. Is there a point where this could have happened? I believe, yes, there is.
In Dream Drop Distance, Sora fell to darkness. While this was happening, Riku was inside his dream, and from what Yen Sid says, that being in his dream also means he was inside Sora’s heart. What’s important to note is that Sora only partially fell. He was saved from fully being engulfed by Ventus’s Suit of armour. According to Yen Sid, this resulted in the loss of all of Sora’s power and most importantly the loss of the power of waking. I think it’s plausible that the part of Sora that fell to darkness got separated and turned into a heartless taking his power, and the power of waking with him. This would explain how Yozora has the Power of waking despite not being a keyblade wielder.
We know from KH1 when Ansem took over Riku, that a heartless can change the appearance of its host body. This would explain why Yozora looks like Riku.
      7. The mystery Darkling:
On the Kingdom Heats 3 box art there’s a heartless sitting in front of Sora with his legs hanging off the edge of the roof of the building holding a star. This heartless is called a darkling. They were first introduced in Kingdom Hearts X and made their only other appearance in Union X.
According to Nightmare Chirithy they are keyblade wielders whose hearts succumbed to darkness. Sora and Riku, of course, are keyblade wielders, so it would make sense a heartless spawned from him would create a darkling. But what’s curious is that, despite being prominently featured on the cover, there are no darklings anywhere in the entirety Kingdom Hearts 3.
If we look at Yozora in the secret ending, he’s also sitting at the edge of the building looking down just like the darkling. In the Verum Rex trailer, Yozora is reaching for a girl wearing a necklace with a star on it and the darkling on the kingdom hearts 3 cover is holding a star. If I remember correctly, it was confirmed that the Verum Girl is the Nameless Star, and it would seem obvious that this star is supposed to represent her.
This darkling being Yozora would be a good explanation as to why this darkling is both on the cover at all and is so prominently featured. Nomura is very specific when it comes to what's on the cover of his games.
      8. How Yozora came from Sora to Quadratum:
Sora fell to darkness in a unique way. He fell to darkness by being lured further and further into sleep. It’s through this that we can establish a plausible way for how Yozora ended up in Quadratum and therefore have the opportunity in inhabit the body of the Nameless Star’s friend. We know from Chirithy that sleep and death are close to each other and that the final world is the last stop before death. We know that the final world is connected to both reality and unreality because Sora, who's from reality, can access it and the Nameless Star, who's from unreality, is also there. Finally, we know that Quadratum is in Unreality because that’s where the Nameless Star is from.
There is a clear path for Yozora to end up where we find him. From Sora’s sleep, to the final world, to unreality, to Quadratum.
To add further evidence, there’s what Young Xehanort says to Sora in KH3. He says that the place Sora will go for abusing the power of waking is the same place he should’ve gone when he fell to darkness in Dream Drop Distance. From Remind and the Kingdom Hearts 4 trailer, that place seems to be Unreality and, more specifically, Quadratum. In other words, Sora would've ended up in Quadratum had he fully fallen to darkness in DDD. This means that if Yozora was created in DDD, Quadratum is where he would've ended up, which is exactly where we see him.
      9. Conclusion:
Yozora being a heartless created from both Sora and Riku explains basically everything. It explains Yozora's connections with Riku, his connections with Sora, the darkling on the cover, why he has the power of waking, and why Rex and Hamm recognize Sora as Yozora. And it also could explain Yozora's name. If you remember, Sora means "sky", and Yozora means "night sky", what's a more fitting name for a "sky" that fell to darkness than "night sky"?

So yeah. I think that Yozora is a separate heart/heartless that replaced (or at least subdued the original heart). Yozora is not the name of the body, it's the name of the heartless. The original person's name (The Nameless Star's friend) is currently unknown.
You talked about Yozora having memory issues. If Yozora was a separate entity like I think he is, than that explains it. He literally doesn't have any memories of the body that he inhabits. But being a heartless of Sora and Riku, shouldn't that mean that Yozora should have Sora and Riku's memories and therefore recognize Sora when they meet? Because Yozora is a heartless created from only a small portion of Sora's heart, it stands to reason why he doesn't have all of Sora's/Riku's memories. This would explain why he doesn't recognize Sora. Also, Roxas and Xion, two beings created from Sora and his memories, don't recognize Sora either.
It seems I have a different conception of what unreality is than you. I think that it's mostly the same and therefore the people are also the same. By that I mean they adhere to already established Kingdom hearts lore. In this case I'm talking about them being taken over by heartless.
Honestly I don't think there is much metaphor in this situation. Almost everything we see about Yozora/Verum Rex can be explained with already established Kingdom Hearts lore (This is actually the crux of all of my theory videos so far). But if there is metaphor, than I've not found it necessary to consider for theory purposes, so far.
But regardless, I've been enjoying your videos and can't wait to see what's next. Yozora/Verum Rex are what I've focused on, so things like the black box and the master of masters are things that I love hearing about.
P.S. I think there's a word limit, which is why I had to cut up my reply into 3 sections.

There are a lot of people who are very passionate about Yozora, but most of the theories I've seen about him spin off into unknown, unfounded territory where they're no longer relying on canon to guide them. So this was great. Impeccable job. I'll have to watch your videos. /does the MoM clap for you/
I don't know what to add... I'm still absorbing all this. I get the feeling that even if I thought of something, you would have already thought of an answer. lol
Oh, I do have a question. Somewhat unrelated. Possibly related.
You know that Darkside that you fight at the beginning of KH3? When you look in the journal, it makes a point of saying that it's different from other Darksides, but that the reason is unknown. It certainly does resemble one of Demyx's water clones, and the combination of light and dark (or perhaps just partial darkness) catches my interest, but I can't figure out for the life of me whether it's actually related to the MoM or not. It seems like it might have been connected to the water that flooded Sora's station, but that might just be... Final World water or something. It's difficult when the symbol of water is used in so many different ways throughout the series. It's obviously a call-back to that scene where Riku holds out a hand for Sora, but that's all I've got. Perhaps the wave represents the MoM (and/or the pull of destiny? darkness?) and the light that shines through it represents Riku? It's been bothering me forever because that Darkside obviously means Something. And it probably relates to the whole scene. The real answer might be stupidly simple.
Speaking of water, do you think that the rain in the KH3 secret ending means anything? Sometimes the drapes are just blue. Maybe the rain just looked cool. But I would sooner think that everything in KH has a meaning. My thought is like "Ah, yes. Like an ame-otoko. The rain must be a sign that the MoM is near." My mind automatically wants to relate everything to him. Can't help it.
The Final World and Quadratum feel like Yozora territory to me, so these feel like questions for you.

Sora fading away at the end of KH3 was not him literally fading away... it was a visual representation of the fact Sora was not there with them despite the fact they are all there because of him. Meaning he was there in spirit but not in person. It also represented the fact that Kairi was wishing he was there and missing him.... Sora didn't literally dissapear in front of her.... he wasn't there to begin with otherwise we would have seen him in the other shots...
