    Hi! Loved this video, it’s so helpful especially for those whom like me do not grasp the concept of loading and unloading (too scared to ruin the film😅)
    I have a question tho, I think I finished the film, I may have 1 photo left, but the counter is at “s” ( it was at 23 before rolling one last time). does this mean that the film is finished? Also, I’ve noticed that it doesn’t have all the numbers, mine went from 1 to 3! Is it normal or is my camera faulty?

    • @8storeytree

      the counter is just an indicator to know an estimate of how many shots u have left. you can continue to shoot beyond '36' until you cant advance anymore.

      it's usually the case of film not loaded properly, or loose film in the canister. sometimes, the initial free rounds, the film in the canister is loose. therefore it doesnt move the knob. eg. of 'loose film' ua-cam.com/video/ahm-Y3XcvKY/v-deo.html . hope it helps.

    Hi! Nice video and very helpful! I have a question though...How does the counter work? Because I'm getting crazy over this. My counter was on S then a middle point (let's call it .) and then 1, but I was expecting a number 2, instead I got another point and then 3, then two more points (. .) and I didn't take more pictures but I'm guessing next number is 6? Hello few questions here,
    Im a newbie in the analog photocamera bussiness. I just bought an agfa photo camera 35 mm
    Does de back flap needs to be closed at all times when taking pictures?
    Do I need to rewind everytime before I take a photo?

    • @cathy2418
      @cathy2418 3 місяці тому +1

      yes, if you open the back flap your piece of roll will be exposed to light which will ruin your roll & pictures (they will turn black due to light exposure).
      and yes also, after every picture you take, you have use the top right roller thing (the one next to the strap holder) to wind your film further. you'll notice when to stop, just keep it rolling until u hear a click and can't scroll any more. then u take your next picture and proceed that process until your whole roll is used :)

    Hi there. I just shot my first roll on this camera (i'm a newbie to 35mm film) and i noticed that the viewfinder doesn't do anything at all when I try to compose a shot. The lens doesn't reflect on anything the viewfinder does.

    • @8storeytree
      @8storeytree  2 роки тому +1

      1) if you're able to advance and trigger the shutter, it means that the film is advancing. the negative in the canister may just be loose and it doesnt turn as much. though it shd still move after a few advances.
      2) film counter is just indicative, it gets reset when film door is opened. so if it's stuck at S, it may be a case of a loose film door or some internal camera issue. (assuming #1 is ok)

    hello! My AGFA film camera shutter is not working - despite putting a 36exp roll of film, the film advance lever has stopped at 24. The battery is not the issue - the flash is turning on and off.

    • @8storeytree

      as in u're unable to advance further? jst to note, if the film door was opened or 'loose' , the film counter may reset. film counter is mainly for estimate of how many shots u've taken. if you can't advance further at 24 (film counter), maybe u've shot 36 already unknowingly. or the film is somehow stuck in the camera.

    I just got a new camera and I don’t believe the wheel showing the amount of pictures is working. It stays around s and 1, could i be doing something wrong?

    • @annevisker4033

      It also takes me a long time turning the wheel until its ready for the picture. Sometimes it turns very smoothly and than a second later its very hard to turn and makes a little noise

      @@shannonanderson8030 it's probably that the sprockets of the film ain't engaging on the gear properly. a few reasons that may cause this, film door loose, gears worn out, film sprockets wear etc.

    I just bought this exact camera, what film would be best to use for it? I notice on the front of the camera it says 31mm but the film you’re using is 35mm. Can I use 35mm or does it have to specifically be 31mm?

    • @8storeytree
      @8storeytree  2 роки тому

      31mm is the focal length of lens, not about the film. the camera used 35mm(135) film. u can check out 8storeytree.com/ishootfilm/ , click on 'shopping guide' for an FAQ guide. hope it helps.
