That 'monster' looks awesome. is that the final or just using different resins in the roto casting process?
It’s close to final. The client’s concept art was not based on the Lovecraft Country” design but, rather, the description from literature. Protoplasm, amorphic, the eyes are a signature but, the creature has no defined size or shape. Our design grew from a brief shot from John Carpenter’s “The Thing” which is one of the few shots of the “Thing” changing form. If you identify the shot and tell me, I will send you something special in the mail.
Btw, Wayne, I love the people you follow and, a few of them are good friends. If you’re ever in Dallas, come spend a few hours with us! That should give me enough time to perform some quick genetic testing and confirm we had the same parents and weird upbringing. 🤣

@@GratuitousSets I did see that Patreon was the place to be to watch the build. I’ve never considering signing up for anything like that… but that build alone may change that.
We’ve been considering THIS method (ua-cam.com/video/uYIc1pLO6Xk/v-deo.html)… it’s very affordable, especially since we want to have more than two eyes inside the trees.
It’s for a shooting gallery we are building in our little weird shop. The eyes would open when the target is shot for the tree etc….
@@GratuitousSets we also considered the idea of practical effects, if you will. But, controlling multiple eyes in a tree, with once source, seemed to be above my IQ.
That's what we are doing with the Shoggoth- four pairs of eyes with IR sensors for target hit detection! LOL
