I think a relatively easy one would be to put the induction coil on the rim of a magnifying glass and the battery hidden in the handle. As a player investigates, suddenly things start to glow as they look closely.
That's what Crisman is going to do with his- WE HAVE A WINNER! Can you think of anything else?
That's a brilliant idea
Inductive LED embedded in some translucent resin molded to look like a big gem, and mount the gem in a bit of jewelry, like a ring. When player returns the gem to the correct location (e.g., a misplaced jewelry box), the gem glows. Perhaps the LED color is a clue for another puzzle.
THAT'S EFFING COOL
I really really need to teach myself electrical stuff. I would love to add items like this to up my games. I do love someone’s idea of a glowing map path.
You can do it!
Nice Morty Hat! Ripping apart my iphone wireless charger and old keycards to see what I can light up!
You brilliant bastard. I miss your voice. If it isn’t too much trouble, could you call me in the next few days for a nice talk ?
Sure, i will fit you into my schedule.
A map or text that lights up or reveals a path when looking closely with a magnifying glass. Or maybe a wand like stick with an led and coils behind artifacts. The wand starts glowing when in proximity.
OOOOOOH! I like the map path!!😎
Would be to embed the lights into a table and then have a faux book that maybe needs to be slid across the table surface? When it gets near certain areas, letters, (In the form of the lights), would light up. Players would have to move the book in a certain sequence based on the clues in the room or other puzzles, to spell out a word. Taht word would then be needed to unlock another puzzle. Think of it as an LED ouija board.
Brilliant!!😃
I could see the coil embedded around a key hole and then the key has the led in it. So that you could do a color code lock
Neato!!!🤔
@@GratuitousSets I got the idea from the coded punch cards you make with the chips inside.
How about hiding the induction coil in a sculpture of a ghostly hand that has to be moved close enough to an electronic piano keyboard to illuminate the LEDs showing which notes to play? You could use four different color LEDs so that the correct order can be independently discovered elsewhere in the room.
OOOOOH! I like it!
serendipitous timing, I've been looking into arrays of inductors for use as a rotary encoder. It's a niche application in very limited space making an off-the-shelf encoder unsuitable. It's a bold claim but it might even be public-proof.
That's a helluva thing!😜
If you could make a planchet for a ouija board with leds
Yes!!! Gimme a shout at 214-529-0045 to talk 😆
If you want to play with a similar idea, grab some Skylanders Giants figures, and put them on the back of a phone which has NFC ... the figure lights up!
Holy crap!!
😲🤘🤘🤘
First? LOL
@@GratuitousSets of course :-) but I think everyone gets the point these days! Trying to think of an idea for those lights. They are super cool!
