Great job boys! Super thorough and detailed. I have owned the previous 2 Swing Caddy devices and decided to buy the MLM2PRO this year and am very happy with that decision. The numbers I get from the device at home transfer accurately to the course.
Wow… super thorough and telling review. I liked that you kept it professional and did not trash the Swing Caddie GC4. (Even though it deserved it) I wonder what would make a next great comparison with the MLN Pro +?
I noticed you elevated the SC4 in both inddor and outdoor tests. Could this have affected the spin with the wedges. I have watched a bunch of video tests and no one elevated it because of the mat. The doppler radar is obviously in the top of the unit, and you raised it up and could have affected the spin with all clubs especially the wedges.
I just saw a part of the video where the swing caddie wasn't even lined up with your target, somewhere around the 17:30 mark... I've used the SC4 for a little bit and there are certainly some flaws and inconsistencies but not nearly as severely as you portray them.
So just a follow up with this, I use the SC4 on the range all the time and it's pretty good although I notice that if I don't select the right club it won't measure anything accurately... which is a bit of a red flag for me... but I decided to pull it out randomly on the course today, for one hole/drive and it recorded and 266 yards carry drive and I only hit the drive 221 yards total distance... that's not a little off, that's way off... not sure what to say about that.
I have heard of the connection issues with MLM2Pro but you can't deny that data. I have looked at multiple launch monitors sub $700 range and MLM2Pro is going to be what I get. If you have a connection issue send it back and get a new one. This is new tech it will have its issues.
thanks guys.....just about to build my first sim studio. Been looking at everything under $3000 for the launch monitor and the mlm2 looks awesome for the price. Do you have any feedback on battery life or set up? I will look through your channel to see if that's already been answered. but if you have any feedback and time to answer...would love to know the drawbacks if any.
Great Vid. I just bought the Rapsodo and plan on doing a video against trackman. This Launch monitor is exactly as detailed as you have explained boys.
I had the Rapsodo and it’s way too annoying and complicated to connect with my iPhone. Honestly took away all the excitement for it. I’ve ordered the sc4 and I’m hopeful.
What’s the actual distances, is there someone in the range that can verify that? Did you try the Titleist or Callaway special balls? There have been some software updates too for these devices! I’m looking for a launch mon. for indoor in my shed for winter. There doesn’t seem to be anything that works for that. Front and back distances are the problem. I only have 12’ to work with. Thanks guys
Did you guys put your actual club lofts in for the SC4? Mine seems way more accurate then what you guys have. Especially with the driver and wedge. I have also gotten spin rates on every wedge shot. With driver, my ball speed is about 155 and the SC4 has never given me a carry over 260. So something seems weird with your unit.
We entered our club data and made sure the device/app were up to date. The faulty driver numbers surprised us too. Not sure why they were so far off. Also not sure why the indoor driver numbers were more accurate than outdoors on the range.
Would the MLM2 PRO accurately show your shot? I am a new golfer and deflect it right slicing a lot and I am wanting to practice at home but dont want to practice on something showing me I am hitting straighter than I am.
I thought i saw another test on sc4 and you cannot use rct balls. Thats probably why you didn't get spin numbers. Maybe you can confirm trying a regular ball.
We used an RCT ball for the indoor test and a regular range balls for the outdoor test in this video. We didn’t get wedge spin numbers with either ball.
Did you use regular balls on the Rapsodo outside test or the special dotted Chrome soft balls? If not I would like to see the readings with regular balls as I can't imagine hitting and gathering a bag of dotted Chrome Soft balls@@Golficity
I have yet to see any of the swing caddie's produce consistent accurate data, which to me, makes it a hard no thanks. What's the point of a launch monitor if the data can't be trusted?
I'm not sure of your methodology. There was a wedge shot on the GC3 that registered only 3500 spin. Personally I think this is a bad read on the GC3. This is going to give you more carry. That's the 20 yard difference in carry on the wedge right there. Also, I noticed in most cases you were rounding the figures on the MLM2 but using the unrounded numbers on the SC4. Seems odd to me that you would do this. Definitely in the diagnosis it seemed you guys had some favour towards the MLM2.
FWIW, the SC4 should be level with the hitting area…that box is way too thick…might as well set it up on the ground…I bring a little hitting mat with me to the range that is the same thickness as the hitting mats at my range and when I hit indoor at my local PGA Tour Superstore…I get much more accurate numbers than you guys are seeing when I compare it to the Foresight at the PGA Tour Superstore where I hit 2x/week…I don’t get spin on wedges though…
Love your stuff. How about testing to see how accurate mlm2 is into a net outdoors. I have a mat and large net (black) not sure if it makes a difference than white. But don’t want to invest if it’s not accurate. Thanks guys.
I I feel like the Callaway balls just needs a 3D printed marker that way we can Mark exact same black dots onto on any white hole and that's all you need why spend all your money for all this stuff
No offense, but you using different balls for the indoor test pretty much nullifies any of those results. I could buy the outdoor results but would have liked to seen both units reading the same shots at the same time. Given the height of the Rhapsodo vs. the height of the SC4 I’m sure it is possible.
Great review. Both are trash for me. I only need a unit for outdoor play, not for indoor sims. Not interested in a device that doesn’t show spin outdoors, requires a ridiculous subscription to utilize, requires special balls, and up charges you to get certain data. GTFOOH (Rapsodo). Also not interested in a device that isn’t accurate (proven thru multiple reviews - Swing Caddie….yet another reason why I’ll be waiting for the correct device…one of these days these companies and technology will catch up and offer a solution that is easy and quick to setup outdoors on the course from hole to hole, less than $1500, doesn’t require BS subscription services, offers left and right data to go along with all other relevant data, etc (Garmin comes close but the setup difficulty / time associated with going from shot to shot kills it for me)…one day, hopefully
Under $1000 budget buy the garmin approach r10 Between $2000 and $5000 budget buy a flightscope mevo+ Between a $5000 and $10k budget buy a Foresight GC3 +$10k budget buy a trackman
It seems both are very deficient if you are an avid golfer…no spin outdoors with the MLM is lame…but so is not giving accurate spin numbers at all…hopefully these was a one off…and having to use special balls indoors that are crazy expensive is lame…
Are you using it indoors? If so make sure you have enough light in the room. Rapsodo uses cameras so if it’s too dark for the cameras to see you could have some accuracy issues.
Is this video sponsored by Rapsodo, because it seems like it very well could be. Not saying the swing caddie is an amazing launch monitor, but y’all just made the MLM sound like it’s the best thing available out there. When in reality it’s still a sub par cheap launch monitor.
This is a dishonest review…… the sc4 wasn’t even floor level with the hitting mat, no wonder you didn’t get a spin reading. If not dishonest, then poorly done
SC4 was to far away from the ball. its within 5feet, but not necesary. Also should have not elevated the sc4. just on the floor. Other videos got much better numbers
Literally everyone that tests these head to head say the same thing. The SC4/orbit is get for guys that just want general numbers while the MLM is basically a GC3 lite for budget golfers (like myself)
Avoid Rapsodo the tech support team is a joke. They will ignore you and the many many problems with the product. I strongly advise anyone to not buy this!
Thanks for the video fellas! Noticed you were reading all the data during testing off of your laptop. are you able to do this with the MLM2Pro?

I'm thinking of geting the Rapsodo so I can hit into a net at home to save money on going to the range, thanks for the review.

Would the water coming off the mat at impact affect the SC4 reading?
im curious how the voice caddie is connected to e6 if there's no spin axis
Having used my SC4 indoors and outdoors, it definitely has more issues reading crappy range balls…
Would the MLM2 PRO accurately show your shot? I am a new golfer and deflect it right slicing a lot and I am wanting to practice at home but dont want to practice on something showing me I am hitting straighter than I am.
Yes, it has measured spin axis (shot shape) and the SC4 and R10 are estimated. MLM2PRO uses the camera vs. radar only in SC4 & R10
I have the SC4…I rarely get spin with the wedges on it…I’ve had it for a year…no matter what I do, can’t get it to read…

You’d be better off with the R10 if looking for no subscription
