Thanks a lot. I’ve change my charger at Renault dealer and cost me 1200€. Then realized opening the bad charger that all it had was a blown mosfet few cents and could be fixed, let’s wait for the mosfet to arrive. Thanks for the video it will be very useful to test the fixed charger, cheers!
If you where unplugging the main battery cable in our workshop we would have been waiting for that moment with a hammer or something to make a loud bang !! the joys of workshop life, always look over your shoulder !! good vid mate love the twizy
thanks for being so kind to post this video. My charger seems to have the same problem as i find my twizy not charged from time to time. Hopefully there's a common fault in these old 2012 charge units like mentioned below... changing a 2 cent mosfet or so. Guess i'll need to examine that further. Greatly apprecianted!!!
Thanks for posting this. Yesterday I got home and plugged my 2012 Twizy in as usual and it wouldn't charge. Checked the 13 amp fuse etc and all seemed OK. Plugged it back in and it started charging as normal. Sounds like mine has the same problem 😐
Actually the handbook delivered with the new charger is different from the one that came with the Twizy. The old charger only charges the 12 V battery, when the Twizy is charging or running. The new charger charges the 12 V battery once an hour or so, even when the Twizy is turned off. Because of this the new handbook includes an warning, that the 12 V line is on power even when the 12 V battery is disconnected.
Hey, thank you for your video but im thinking to get one but also im wondering, Dose the Renault twizy needs a special electric plug , or at the same normal plug that it’s in our houses! 220v
Hi, many thanks for the video! I bought a Twizy 7 months ago and only realised when it was delivered that it had no doors.... I see that you added nice doors to your one - where did you get them them? Many thanks, Louis
Great video! I need to replace my charging unit too but find it hard to get a hold of one. Have you got a serial number or something on the new one so that I can identify the right model?
when you priced up your parts you didnt happen to get a trade price for a replacment traction battery unit ? im also in the trade and this current situation in the world all the bristal street renault parts are closed ! thanks in advance stu

Hello. Did you find out what is causing the short circuit?
is this the one that breaks the most? mosfet ? My charger broke but I don't see the point in paying £1200-1500 for something that can be fixed
@@Chas75so? you fix it?
Always a great moment when something you fix starts back up first time :)

Omg mine is defect. Not happy about it. 10.000km. But you are funny as hell 😂👏👏👏
Did you connect the hose for «ventilation» in the new charger, or is it redundant in the new charger verisions?
is the new charger maybe delivering more KW than the old? do you have a KILL-A-WATT to measure with?

Hello where I can buy new charger thanks
Did you find out what was wrong with your charger?
I think I would have opened the old charger before giving money to the stealers. 👍
Good job 👍
Where buy battery charguer?
You can get yellow gum boots (wellys) for electricians too.
Those chargers have a small cooling fan visible on the side of it,even if that fan fails it won't charge..
Brilliant
Great, now fix the broken charger 😎, must probably be something simple right?
amazing doors 😂😂😂😂
The future, can’t say as a petrol head I am looking forward to it 😟
