you are an ANGEL! thank u so much! this has been a big struggle for me since i moved from windows to a macbook air wich only has 8gb of ram. the m1 chip is very fast, but when it comes to orchestral midi programming, ram is allways a struggle!
GREAT tip! I had no0 idea this was possible. THANK YOU for sharing this!
Great tutorial…beautifully explained
Unbelievably good thank you 👍

ram ranch
Thanks a lot, beard brother Ha-ha I've seen other tutorials about this, but none talk about the actual DAW memory usage I was looking for a reference on both Kontakt and Fl studio. Thanks, beard brother! :) blessings...
Glad I could help!
Thanks for that!
THANK YOU SIR!!!!!!!!
great tip!!
Thanks. This helped a ton.
Glad it helped!
so it automatically knows what you're not using and gets rid of it? what if you had a three note pattern, purged it and then added a fourth note. would you have to reload or would it just reload that one note automatically
Good turotial... B the way you mentioned using multiple instances of K, how can one use different instances? Ive tried opening up kontakt on seperate platforrms but K6 will only give 16 stereo outs they never go above which is a hassle because if Im using a horn section that has 8 instruments and then winds with 10 seperate channels, how can one implement the rest of an orchestra like percussion seciton or choir singers?
Thank you for that!
You're welcome!
Nice video.
Great! Is it also true that if using multi loads, it's better to use one instance of Kontakt and route each instrument to a different channel, instead of opening several instances of Kontakt for each instrument? Thanks.
Thank you!
You're welcome!
it's a shame you can't configure Kontakt to load patches as purged by default...
would save having to load it all up everytime in the first place.
Had no idea. Thanks!
No problem!
@@shamshirsound 🙌🏾
thank bro
Thanks man😍😍😍
No problem 👍
When I have a lot of tracks with Kontakt instruments loaded, my purge option doesn't work well. After purging, no samples will play anymore. Nothing will work but relaunch my DAW. Does anyone know how to solve this? I've got 16 GB of RAM and only 7.28 GB is used...
What would be interesting is to use the faster VRAM or RAM of your graphics card. It might be smaller, but considerably faster.
That would be very nice, a sort of bridging solution, have you discovered anything like that?
I have a question. When you purge a kontakt instrument at once, have you to do it every time you open the project? I mean, does to purge remain saved after closing? Thanks!
I don't believe you have to, I believe it remains in purge, it loads all samples at initial start, but someone can correct me if I'm wrong, I'm not really using Kontakt anymore.
What is the downside of using purge? I.e. why isn't it this the default behavior? I didn't even notice any delay when I tried it...
I guessing having samples in RAM cuts down MIDI-latency ? like the time between the note is triggered until it makes a sound , but I'm not 100% sure about that, just a guess - best wishes
is it possible in nexus2 ?
good question I will have a look
Wauw makes you wonder why that isn't a default setting
Alex who?
