    I really like the fact that your spellcasting animation changes based on the class to represent the different way they access magic. And you weapon attack animations seem to be based on your race. Really cool little detail.

    I didnt think I needed to follow another Baldur's Gate 3 channel. I was wrong. Thanks for the video! It's easy for me to get caught up on the min/max mill and how Larian has made the city of Baldur's Gate seamless. All the details Larian has put into the game is incredible!

    I was thinking of doing a half orc bard my first playthrough. I only wish there were some kind of background or trait I could select that makes me absolutely horrible at music. I want NPCs to either run in horror in response to my performance, or immediately suspect that I'm trying to create a diversion.

    I enjoy the fact that in your forest camp, you get lots of chests and "shelves" you can add things to, like your PC and companions are collecting items to keep for camp life. It's that touch of immersion I appreciate.

      @zeektexas73 Рік тому +1

      Yeah I'll put books etc in there so I can go back if I see mention of something I read earlier. My few runs in EA 3 years ago i skipped reading any more items to avoid spoilers. So I'm sure I have a lot to read.

    • @Terror_Official

      I enjoyed using this feature, until they added custom campsites to every single biome. Now it's hard to store things like that, because they're gone in the other camps. You have to travel back to an outside world, then to camp, each time you want to grab something you stored in the overworld camp and not say the Underdark one. Now I just try to use the shared campsite chest for things like that, since they share between the camps.

    • @bookkat07
      @bookkat07 Рік тому +4

      @@Terror_Official Yeah, that was something I discovered, as well. It makes sense from the resources standpoint; it might be too difficult to manage the number of resources used to cross-store items from the "main" camp (the one by the lake) with the other camps? Perhaps it'll be addressed in the finished game. At least the shared chest helps manage storage from that standpoint.

    Loved this video - subscribe from me. I missed some of these things whilst playing but I'm now going to be taking the time to look at all the different animations etc. I also like details like being able to throw health potions at an ally to heal them if you're close enough with another character but that's more a mechanic than a detail thing though. I also like that in the camp you sometimes see characters interacting or doing something in the background whilst talking to another NPC, like talking to Gale and seeing Shadowheart trying to break open that item she has :)

    The Speak with the Dead animation reminds me of the way Yennefer did it in Witcher 3. When paired with Geralt and chasing a werewolf. But how they put all these things you mentioned in BG3 is a riddle to me. Should be a 200Gb+ file size but it's not. Great coding or the game's biggest act is act 1.

    What classes or backgrounds do you expect will have a significant amount of interaction with dialog options?

    • @LisaLynnsTavern
      @LisaLynnsTavern  Рік тому +3

      I'm sure there will be plenty for every class, but I think Warlock will be one of the bigger ones since they can interact with their patron. Paladins get quite a lot too because of the Oathbreaker subclass. Maybe Clerics will have some interaction with their deity. As for backgrounds, everytime you do something that is in line with your background, you get an inspiration point. So I'm sure there will be a lot of opportunities for that throughout the game. 😄

      From what I've heard, Tieflings and Drows seem to have a lot of interactions based on their race. Druid is a good option too because of the Druids in act 1.
      I think a Tiefling or Drow Warlock might prove an interesting combination, but every race has content for you to experience so just pick your favorite.

    Zou je niet wat meer video's uploaden ? Ik denk dat de lage frequentie je geen goed doet in je poging om een grotere schare volgers te genereren. Maar dat weet je ongetwijfeld zelf ook al,blijft de vraag,waarom niet vaker? Ook een vaste upload tijd en dag als je dan toch niet dagelijks content upload zou al helpen. Vind je video's leuk hoor, daarom juist.

    Not a huge fan of how weapons magnetically stick to your back. I'd rather see my character holding it, or have it sheathed...if you were walking around with a staff, wouldn't it be more like a walking stick?

    • @Bzk--
      @Bzk-- Рік тому +3

      I think it's just unrealistic to expect that kind of sheathed weapon details. Just think about the amount of work it would take to design, animate and all the work that goes into that and multiply it for every single weapon in the game...it's just not feasible.

    I think Larian usurped the IP just to make it nothing like Baldurs Gate and change the fundamentals, when they could have just named it Divinity and everybody would be happy.
    And we all know the answer to this: Money.
    Turn Based vs. RTwP is one of the major issues, and I actually agree with the spam comments.
    It doesn't take much to see that Divinity's overbright colours and lack of tone, tooth-pastey models, levelled loot, oversaturated micro-comedy, random Hollywood-esque quips about STEM subjects to sound smart and quirky, refusal to take oneself seriously and utter demolition of the 4th wall contrast quite negatively to Baldur's Gate's overly serious tones, gritty world and backgrounds. And the colours, tone, atmosphere, UI, the whimsy, 'bear sex funni', the over the top but no substance Michael Bay style opening in which we are shifting through 4 different planes on an Illithid space ship and fighting Illithid, Dragon riding Githyanki and Cambion all at once within the first 10 minutes are exactly things that are very different from Forgotten Realms games.
    A camp which may consist (thus far) of a Lich, owlbear cub, The legendary Volo, a vampire, a gith, a druid, several magical humans and a dog makes deciding whether to spend extra gold for a nice room at the Friendly Arm Inn seem like an entirely different setting.
    It takes courage and skill to show restraint and write small and mundane things. I think Larian as a developer lacks that ability.
    Lastly, the game has no identity and doesn't know what it wants to be.
    On one side, this is a game for adults with adult themes which include slavery, body horror, murder, cruelty, the killing of children.
    On the other hand, goofy movement, colourful, silly this and that humour. The movement animation looks like carefree, casual jogging. Blood/gore/sex is goofy, cartoony, silly. Characters behave like what adults think kids imagine adults behave like. This is a PG13 game at heart trying to show gamers its really like a rated R flick.
    And of course, the cartoony UI and icons from the Divinity Engine are back. And while this worked wonderfully for the light hearted Divinity setting, it does not work for a Forgotten Realms game.
    There is a difference between making a great game in your own IP, and making a SEQUEL while completely disrespecting and/or not caring about the source material.
    Calling something by a name that references the past is very easy. Making something that lives up to the past is another matter. All negative sentiment could have been avoided had Larian not been adamant on naming it as a sequel for BG. It's absurd that fans of the franchise have to explain this in the first place.

      Then....why did you watch this video (assuming you did, I have my doubts)? Doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand this video is opinion-based, like 99.9% of UA-cam, and since we all have opinions, it isn't the end of the world if someone doesn't agree with you. And if you don't like any aspect of this game, why on earth are you visiting BG3 videos are leaving dissertations on "why this is offensive to REAL BG fans"? Don't like it? Don't buy it, don't play it. And if you've already bought it, then who's the sucker? smh

      @@Grumbledookvid I hope whatever is really upsetting you gets addressed man. I get you arent happy with the direction of a game. I get that you feel like an original BG fan and, therefore, know whats best for the franchise. I also get that posting a dissertation on why you feel the game is bad on a video someone else made calling out things they like is a call for attention.
      You know that this creator cannot impact the game development. You know that they cannot change or address any of your concerns whether they are valid or not. Critique is valid but, deliver that critique to someone that can do something about it. Send it to Larian via and of the numerous ways to do so. Posting it on other people's videos celebrating what they like is just poor form and you know that. You're better than that.
      People can like the things you don't. It's OK. it doesnt impact you in the slightest. it's also OK for you to not like things and want them to be different than they are. Don't tear down someone else to try to prove a point.
      Like I said, i do hope whatever is really bothering you gets sorted. Being negative, combative, and angry at someone else's happiness isn't a great place to be and I hope things get better for you.

      @@Grumbledookvid I am a fan of the original games. I have completed everything BG related and while I get that bright colours is not the same esthetic choice as what bioware chose for their infinity games, I am not put off by it at all.
      Your point about running carefree seems silly to me, because looking at a bunch of "boots of the cheetah" characters in bg2 zoom across the screen at breakneck speed, while still being animated as if they walk, is nothing if not silly xD
      I played the early access back in 2020 and was pleasantly surprised. I also gm a dnd group and the feel in the game, feels very close to the tone when we play in my group. So since my game is light hearted, the UI works perfectly for that.
      I don't know what kind of games you ran in bg, but the modding scene is very active still, so I guess you can have your grim game in the old ones.
      To me, Baldur's Gate is a feeling. If a game claims to be a spiritual successor to BG, like pillars of eternity did and does not evoke that same feeling as BG did, then my interest is gone in an instant.
      That didn't happen for me in this game, so I look forward to when it releases.
