Seven months later and after some reflection and realizing that I make some emotional decisions when I'm not in a good place mentally, I apologize for the "downer" vibe in this video. I was really struggling after the 2 months I spent in this home and "absorbing" all the trauma from the homeowner and then feeling like a failure when it didn't end on a good note with the homeowner after all the work we put in, so it was REALLY DIFFICULT to try to stay positive in my voiceover. But, because of all I learned about myself while working here and how much I have to protect my mental health due to my empathic nature and wanting to help everyone to the point that I suffer, I am now in therapy and learning to set boundaries so that it doesn't get to this point again. Anyway, thank you for understanding! I am in a much better place now!

Bonnie, a reply is never expected by me, so please don't feel the need to reply.
If you need to charge for the cleaning jobs, but still are able to film them, I'm sure I'm not alone when I say that you would still have an audience. It doesn't have to be a free clean for me to watch. Many UA-camrs have sponsors, and their subscribers don't seem to mind or unsubscribe.
You're honest about who you are, and it's a big reason why we watch your videos. If you show cleaning videos where you say you also got paid for all of your hard work -- no big deal, I'd still watch them. Aurikatariina has sponsors, and I watch all of her videos. I'd watch yours too.😊
I love to organize for other people and clean whatever spaces they let me clean up. Your videos inspire me, truly. With that said, if you need to take a break from videos to earn a living, then go do just that. If we self care, we can care for others better. What do the flight training instructions always say?...put your own oxygen mask on first before helping others. If you can't breathe, how can you expect to help someone else breathe?
Do what you gotta do, we'll be here.
Final thought: you and your mom are awesome!

New to your channel, but came from Midwest Magic Cleaning and I love it! As you grow, your community will understand that you can’t be everywhere at once. It’s just basic math. I know the algorithm gods can be harsh, but hang in there because word is getting around. I will now be bingeing every video you’ve ever made. ❤

    • @ABeautifulMessExtremeCle-zl1wp
      @ABeautifulMessExtremeCle-zl1wp  7 місяців тому +8

Aw, thank you! And I had to laugh when you talked about the algorithm Gods because I was just talking to Mack yesterday about how we should do a video of something that represents the algorithm and us bringing sacrifices to it and worshiping this algorithm God because that is what it feels like sometimes, like, "Have we displeased you in some way algorithm? How can we make it right?" 😅 Mack and I have a very similar sense of humor so it was fun to laugh about that for a minute.
A word of warning if you are binging all of my videos... the first three or four I put music in and some of it was very obnoxious.🤦‍♀️ I seriously had no idea what I was doing, but that was a less than a year ago, so I have come a long way, a lot of that thanks to Mack.😊 I wish I could go back and redo those, but that's not really how this works. Anyway, thank you so much for being here and that's sweet of you that you are going to go watch my other videos.💖🙏

Put yourself first Bonnie. Being an empath around negativity is very draining. This house in particular has been greatly improved but really needs way more help for the person to overcome hoarding. That is not due to failure on your part.you did amazingly. I hope you will soon be feeling better and we will all see you again soon.

You are much too hard on yourself. Think about how far ahead of the issue you were able to take this home, not how much more you had wanted to do. The homeowner is closer to a house that has more function than previously, and it is all because of YOU! Everyone appreciates you and is in your corner. You need to be in your own corner, because you deserve it. Good on your mom for helping you to remember how to have fun. She is a treasure!

Thank you, Mira. You have always been gracious and kind. I know that I didn't disappoint you with the scrapbook room. I just have a picture in my head when I go into a room and, when it doesn't turn out like that, I feel incomplete. And I know we aren't done either. Now that I have freed up some time this month because I did cancel that lady I was telling you about that was going to take so much time and energy, I can actually come up probably a couple more days this month and really get your scrapbook room in order. But I will probably give you a week or so in between coming up so that you have time to go through and Purge things as we pull them out. I think I expected too much in a short period of time and that's just not possible when there is so much for you to go through before we can really organize it. Anyway, I will be in touch! Love you, friend! ❤️

Bonnie- I enjoy watching you and your mom. My 2 cents- that project was waaaaay too much especially for free. Of course you are burned out- no great reward at the end right? No sense of completion. Remember you have to put your own oxygen mask on first before you can help others.
Maybe you can take some “normal” paid cleaning jobs and only take on manageable , free jobs a couple of times a month.
You are so caring but do t forget to care for yourself 💕

I comment on videos maybe once a year at most. Just wanted to say, I had got myself into a situation of complete cleaning paralysis due to a combination of factors- some of the same factors that people you have cleaned for struggle with as well. I hit a point of desperation earlier today and searched for ‘extreme cleaning’ and your videos came up. I watched two of them while psyching myself up to just START CLEANING. The way you talk to and about your clients, and seeing how a mess of the same sort as mine evaporates under your hands, finally made me get up and just start. I watched another one when I took a break earlier and now I’m watching more of them to wind down ready to get back at it tomorrow.
My kitchen is finally clean. It has been months. I hope you choose to do whatever makes you happiest; if that doesn’t end up being cleaning videos, so be it - but I did just want to add my voice to the chorus of people telling you that you are making a difference for us just by doing what you do and sharing the process with us. A lot of the time I feel like I just have no idea where to begin because I am scared of getting it wrong, but watching you just dive in with enthusiasm and scrubbing and even admit when you wish you’d done something differently, makes me feel like ‘heck, I may as well have a go at it’. I am not exaggerating when I say that I was working with, on average, 10cm squared of available counter space. Today I finally got to remember what it was like cooking a meal in an actual kitchen rather than a chaos dump. Thankyou so much.

Wow, I don't even know what to say. You made me feel so good. 🥹❤️🙏I have been reminded so much these last few days that my videos aren't just about the people I help, but that other people are getting some value from them and tackling their own messes. I don't feel like I articulate things very well or explain my process very well all the time, but I'm so happy to hear that you are at least gaining some perspective on things, that you aren't in this alone, and that it really starts with just moving things around and figuring out what's there and doing just a little bit each day. And it sounds like you have learned that there is no wrong way to do it. I used to get a lot of comments in the first few months of my videos that I was cleaning something wrong and it used to really bother me because it's not like I'm a trained professional. I just like to do this stuff for fun and, to me, it doesn't matter how you get there. Then other people started pointing that out as well, and I like that I can show it doesn't have to be done exactly like a professional would do it. Sometimes it's messy, but you have to do it in a way that works for YOU. Better is better no matter how you got there. 😊Anyway, thank you so much for your comment and I'm so happy to hear that you are starting to make progress with your own home. Best of luck to you!🙏🥰

I'm definitely not done with UA-cam. I have moments where I wonder what in the world I'm doing, but ultimately I think I would miss it too much. I just need to focus on the good I'm doing and not spend too much time thinking about the things that I can't change, like the homeowners. Thank you for also reminding me that this helps to motivate others to clean their homes, especially getting to peek into homes like this that have gotten so unmanageable. ❤️🙏

Over the years, I have been the recipient of many well meaning people, giving me things. I was a single mother of 4 girls after my husband passed away. People gave me clothes and things I could sell in a yard sale, which didnt always sell, and that began my collection of stuff until the next yardsale. I held on to things, thinking it would eventually sell. My sweet neighbor left her entire house and all her possessions to me when she passed away, now leaving me under so much stuff. I am gradually getting rid of things and not depending on a yardsale. Finding a home for things has been difficult but it feels really good when things go out the door.
You worked so hard in this house! Keep in mind you gave all that you had to give and don't beat yourself up for doing what you've done. You did an awesome job!!!! You should be so proud that you gave your time to help. No matter what the end result was, you need to give yourself credit for all your hard work. It was not wasted time and I know she appreciated all the work that you did.

Hoards are signals of sadness, depression, despair, illness. I swear they soak up that energy. So you're flogging through that, breaking it up. Bonnie, I often thought you might have tackled too much physically and mentally with this hoarder clean-up. It was a ton of sorting to what end? God bless your sweet mother but at 72, she was jeopardizing her health and safety. Take some time to rest your body and mind and rethink what you want to do. You are kind and generous and I have enjoyed my time with you. I hope to see you, again. God bless you!!!

I sure do. And I just it did something I never thought I could do. The next lady I had lined up to help I could sense was going to be just as bad of an energy-sucker, if not worse, than the homeowner from this series, and I called her and told her that I just couldn't do it. I felt so guilty for about 10 minutes, and then this huge weight lifted off me, and I have not felt this free since probably a year ago. So, yes, boundaries are good, and it is okay for me to say no.🤗

Your childhood wasn't a lie for the pose. Your Mom was way ahead of her time! There is a scene from Grey's Anatomy that talks about a study that says a "superhero pose" provides benefits. The pose is very similar to the pose you do. From that scene it states if you stand in the superhero pose for 5 mins before a big task you will do much better and feel better going that task. I googled "superhero pose" and there's all kind of benefits! You can keep doing it.😊

I can relate to getting overwhelmed, I was helping a family with an ill family member and would just clean to kill time while I was there. By the next week it was trashed again. What you are doing is such a godsend, and I want you to know that you’ve done everything you could in the time you have. Maybe one of your clients will be ungrateful or just so buried in their own problems they just go right back, it’s not worth taking all that in and feeling badly. You’ve done this fantastic job, we all can see it, not perfect but it’s progress, and we hope your client can move forward, if not then it’s outside what you should expect anyway. I'm so sorry! Having only dealt with this for 2 months, I don't know how family members of Hoarders deal with it. I really thought that having an outside source of help would actually be a lot more helpful than if it was the family trying to help her, but, I think I have come to the conclusion that, unless they have been through some therapy to help them deal with getting rid of items, no matter who it is trying to help, you won't get anywhere. It's one of the saddest things I have ever witnessed. So, again, I'm so sorry you have to deal with that. 😔

Besides taking money from our 401K, that would be the very last thing we would do because we are pretty frugal and aren't afraid of finding unconventional ways to get by, but it is a nice thought to know that, if things were absolutely turned upside down, we do have that as one option.
