This dress went from YIKES! to WOW! I especially love what you did with the lace. It was wasted on the sleeves, but it's a beautiful element to the new bodice. I was going to say, "And it fits in perfectly! How lucky for you!" when I realized that it wan't luck; it was skill. Really well done!! The black lace you added provides some much needed contrast as well.
This was so helpful. I appreciate the care you take in explaining things so someone could actually follow this as a tutorial. Even if I don't want to copy the exact design, I always learn things from your videos.
Its so beautiful now!! And I love the process of buying something like that old dress + then totally changing it into something else! Its fun + relaxing + you get caught up in the creative energy of the product! ❤❤❤
You could do this over and over and I would just absolutely watch it again and again of my favorites. At first I thought that when you put the trim on the bottom was gonna be too long and make you look too short. I suppose it depends on what shoes you’re wearing. Also, I like to wear them just long enough so I can use a petticoat underneath 12:34 yeah, this one might not need it since you did the west with the good full circle skirt❤❤❤
Wow do you think that black trim would still be available? I absolutely love everything about this. This is just like one of those dresses that’s timeless as they say it does give me like 1950s vibes with the pink and black a subtle pink- classic I love the bus line. I love the adjustable in the back and explain that really well with good camera angle so I think I could do that. ❤
Almost thought you weren't going to line the bodice, so unlike you! But then you did! Whew, dress saved. I thought you would dye it at the beginning. Did the dye after the color of the lace?
Hahaha I love that you noticed that!! I didn't realize how bad the discoloration was until I was already sewing, but the lace I used was polyester and the dress is cotton so I knew it wouldn't be a problem if I used regular dye! 🥰
@@littletoh i thought of you yesterday because i had shoulder darts going to the back and the front of a dress and i only lined them up because you are so persnickety about this at the waist 😂😂😂
Another amazing project! I love it so much. Not joking, you've inspired me to start learning to sew. You made it look so easy! Especially with the limited amount of fabric you had to work with❤ Do you have any recommendations for nice looking pattern available in Malaysia? My skill is not there yet (still at the phase where my book sleeve is sewn crooked) but I really want to get into garment making in the future that's not baju kurung hahaha
Thank you so much and that is amazing!! I'm so excited for you to start your sewing journey! 🥰 Hmm I'm not really sure since I haven't lived in Malaysia for over ten years now. Which part of Malaysia are you in?

How much are you reducing the elastic in the back by out of curiousity?
