Now that they’ve introduced the concept of bi-generation I have a question can the 14th Doctor still regenerate or does he only have one life to spend because if so then it makes it more meaningful that he’s choosing to spend it with the Nobles.
15 says “you have to become me” or something like that I took it to mean 14 will die naturally and somehow 15 remembers
In their canon Wilf is still alive too :,)
@@bonzujones8028He's shooting moles! I love the moles.
That's my question.
I imagine no, I would think the end play would be him going back in time as millions of different entities to populate a particular planet
NPH and Tennant was a combo i didnt know i needed but as soon as it was announced I was like "how did we not get this sooner?"
That was the only word I couldn't stand with the what and ion z for let's go say it in English doctor we don't need you to translate every damn word out of your that's why I love about the 15th doctor not everything has to be so
They all kicked some stellar ass
This was an interesting episode to have subtitles on for. After the bi-generation, Tennant goes from being 14 back to 10. So it makes me wonder if 10 cane out of it back as himself while 15 gets to continue on.
5:06 the Brig also appeared in the Sarah Jane Adventures as his final appearance in the canon.
Literally just about to say this
The Sarah Jane Adventures 😂 ohhh wow, that feels like eons ago 😅
Whats funny is David is almost as old as William was when he first played the doctor
The character on the king is obviously Neil Patrick Harris
Oh, Gina, you have my heart for making sure this happened!!! THANKS for this!!!!
Now that the Spice Girls are Doctor Who cannon, are we ready to have the conversation that the Spice Girls are Time Lords… I also saw Spiceworld opening weekend and THE BUS…. It’s bigger on the inside!
I’m surprised that no one has been talking about the bigeneration creating the Valeyard. That was exactly the origin of him, according to the Master.
Wait, really? Was the word "bigeneration" used?
@@docAvid314 I don’t believe that word was used but I remember a lot of the speculation being done at the time that the Valeyard wasn’t exactly the Doctor but a splitting off from the doctor when a regeneration went wrong. Most Whovians in America at least seemed to think this was what happened.
That's a good point. The Doctor now having infinite regenerations messes up the idea that the Valeyard was supposed to happen after the Doctor's last regeneration, which was their 12th at the time. With the potential origin of the Valeyard screwed up, it'll be up to either Big Finish, Russell T Davies, or a future Doctor Who producer to explain where the Valeyard came from.
William Hartnell was 55 when he started as the 1st Doctor, David Tennant is 52 now as the 14th... Everyone looked old in the 60s.
William Hartnell also wore a wig as the 1st Doctor that made him look slightly older.
Probably because David Tennant is a gen Xer.
We seem to have aged differently to other generations.
Love ncuti in this episode so engertic really suits the role
I'm guessing "The Boss" is Josiah W. Dogbolter from the Doctor Who Weekly comic strips, and "The One Who Waits" is THE ultimate God-like being that RTD has been teasing amongst the legions that the Toymaker teased (my best guess is Omega).
You should do a video for the Christmas special!
Thank you so much for mentioning Fourteen being commando, no one else seems to want to.
I was willing to be the one to make that sacrifice!
I loved the episodes but was so disappointed when NPH said I accept your challenge and not CHALLENGE ACCEPTED! Come on!! What is more NPH than CHALLENGE ACCEPTED 😂🤣
I loved the specials! Doctor Who is back!
15:13 it’s also what the war Doctor says when he regenerates in the 50th anniversary
Great job hosting, Kudos!
Thank you so much!! Thank you for watching 🙂
If you look at the subtitles on the ball scene with Gatwa you'll notice Tennant's lines are officially listed as the 10th Doctor meaning Gatwa is officially 14 and Tennant is still 10.
5:05 The brigadier also had it's apparrition in Twice upon a time with 12 . Lovely end of an episode , made me cry a lot
that wasn't the brigadier, it was his father
I really hope that his daughter is addressed at some point eventually.
Wild Blue Yonder was a classic Tennant/Davies Who episode. It was so fun to see David get it and explain in a frenzy like he does. I think we needed the ease after all the bombs that dropped on us with Jodi.
I also thought it may be the Rani, another renegade Time Lord
"Robots", might also be from the 4th Doctor's first episode "Robot", also called "The Giant Robot", which the Brigadier & UNIT was in.
LOVED this episode of Doctor who!!! Can't wait to see Ncuti's iteration of the doctor.
Is nobody going to mention that the Toymaker had way too many teeth on those closeups, lol
Thank you so much for this video. I loved it and learned so much from you🙏❣️
Thank you for watching!
Groovy video.. you do great work, gal.. keep it up!!
Thank you!
Yaaasss thank you for covering Doctor Who!
Thank yo for watching!
Willl you be covering The Church on Ruby Road!! These are brilliant
I appreciate the rundowns on the Classic Doctor Who references!
I mean the doctor spent 90 years as in important but mostly normal timelord. He held office on Gallifrey. He had a wife kids and grandkids.
More importantly this is the second time that this doctor's face has settled down with a family.
I'm hoping that 14 or the metacrisis doctor turns out to be the Valeyard
Well Russell T Davies says that every doctor bi generated in some way, so maybe ten became the valeyard after the timelord victorious arc
@@sharkstargames3930that's a really good point. Fourteen is past all that that, ready to heal, but if, after the Timelord Victorious, at the point of "I don't want you go", some version of Ten, still unprepared to deal with all that trauma, still thinking he destroyed Gallifrey in the Time War, still filled with arrogance and loathing and guilt, actually didn't go... He could become anything. The Valyard could be just one aspect of such a villain. And Tennant plays evil so, so well.
I love mostly everything about this except the dupe TARDIS. The ramp made me tear up.
Yes! Been waiting for this.
Yay, I hope you enjoy!
Davis? Day-vees.
Made it 11 seconds there 'resident Doctor Who nerd'.
For some reason when he said "The one who waits" I instantly thought of Captain Jack Harkness.
The Yeti could also be referencing The Yeti's that are in the first story with Brigadier (which also has The Intelligence)
Sometimes I wonder if the card pulled by the Doctor in the card game means something
I think that the hand with red fingernails is either Missy the female incarnation of the master or River Song
10:49 The fact that this was Sutekh was crazy
Brigadier was in dimensions in Time special and a Sarah Jane adventure episode.
Please keep the Doctor Who content coming. There are so many fans. ♥
Why and how the f*** did they stop Neil Patrick Harris from singing at his introduction in the unit tower and do the spice girls thing instead?!
Put a Bird on it
maybe bigeneration is only possible with someone who was granted a second (or more) regeneration cycle
I thought this. I theorise that the bi-generation is only possible because the doctor has lived longer than he should have so he has evolved to the point of bi-generation
I think it's only possible when the Toymaker is present and forcing a regeneration.
I reckon it’s because it’s a myth. The doctor specifically called bigeneration a myth, and after the line of salt was made at the edge of the universe the Doctor worried if there would be consequences for invoking a superstition at the edge of the universe, where the walls were thin and all things were possible.
This gambit allowed The Toymaker to enter the doctors universe again, and I think it’s also allowed more mythical and fantastical elements to enter the universe, allowing bigeneration
13:25 HOW ARE YOU NOT GONNA TALK ABOUT THE TEETH?!?!
the vaniers you mean?
@@mcclintick I mean the fact that he had like twice as many teeth in his mouth as he should have. It happens when he points out the gold tooth, then again in a closeup toward the end of the episode
In that musical scene the Toymaker reminded me of Jobu Tupaki from 'Everywhere. Everything. All at once'.
20:15 yes I’ve literally been saying it should be the Rani
So good to hear an intelligent, well informed review. All the others are so negative and made by guys who just can't accept that DW is all about change.
I'm so glad you enjoyed it!
@@Ginaippy2Yes, thank you!
I believe the master lost to a dance off
I absolutely loved the 60th anniversary special and am looking forward to the Doctor’s next adventures. I have seen a clip of the Christmas episode and it’s Doctor Who crazy as we should expect.😊
I really want to see Tennant become the Valiyard and the big bad of this season.
When Tennant referred to himself as Time Lord Victorious at the end of The Waters of Mars, that gave us an inkling of what he could be like.
This would be amazing
We need a video on the Goblin song!!
The TARDIS is lighter. It's always lighter. If the TARDIS were to land with its true weight, it would fracture the surface of the Earth.
Great job Gina!
Thank you!!
The brigs final appearance was in the sarah jane adventures
#1 0:30 clearly shows the words Zauber-Ticks (German for magic-tricks) and Board-Games written on the shop window - not only tricks & games
I hope "the one who waits" is teasing fenric
RTD has confirmed in the official Doctor Who podcast that every doctor that has ever existed has also bi-generated Matt Smith turning into Peter, Peter turning into Jodie all of them
That's what I don't like about this bi-generation. It doesn't make sense that all of them split
Imagine a 7th doctor stuck in a morgue
He said that's one of the ways he likes to think about it. He did NOT say it as an official fact.
Hidden details of Kung fu panda 4 🎉🎉🐼🐼🥷🔥🔥❤️❤️
Oh wow! I didn't notice he did the laugh at the beginning of the episode! It's literally called "The Giggle" how didn't I think twice about the laugh!
Michael Gough from Tim Burton's Batman? As Alfred Pennyworth?
I haven't seen it officially explained yet, but I REALLY hope that those close up card-shuffling-tricks were actually NPH. I don't know if he's actually THAT good, but damn that would be cool.
He's very good at cardistry, he even has his own deck of playing cards you can buy.
@@PewYew Oh, I know he's good. But some of those tricks looked practically impossible. But then, I don't know card tricks that well.
He is a legit magician been practicing since he was dougie Howser
not just that - he's a former president of the Academy of Magical Arts (The magic castle) that's the magician guild of L.A.
Used to enjoy Dr Who when i was 8yrs old!
4:26 this reference feels more like an accident than an actual reference, especially since it’s a common phrase for brits to say
Also, when 15 comes to a hard point where he gets stuck, he can go back to 14 and talk to each other in order to solve the proble..
gatwa is incredible i’m so excited to watch him
I mean the thing I like about Ncuti's intro is the fact he really pushed into his own theme. Where I feel 13 put something off but maybe its the story but who knows.
When I first saw the Toymaker in that outfit on the street, I thought it was Matt Smith
Bonnie has aged like fine wine.
Gina!!! Days that I don't see your face hold less meaning for me than the ones that I do.
Aww thank you so much!!
And kids thats how I met Barney Stinson.. challenge accepted
Triumphant return of Gina!
It's possible that the 14th Doctor regenerates into The Curator we saw in the 50th! That would be cool
I liked it👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 Thanks 💕💕💕
🌟🎁👑🎄📯🎶👼🏻
15:12 madam Vastra also said it with 12
Gurl glad your loving the moderrrrn time troupe. I imagine itll go as well as all the other modern "writing" has.
I hope we get a church on ruby road recap soon? 💙💙💙
After the "Shirley. You can't be serious" comment, is that not a COMPLETE scene copy of Aeroplane at 6:31?
Now we need an adventure with the meta crisis doctor to just make things more confusing.
Kate Lethbridge Stewart had red nail polish on
Where do you start with Dr. Who if you’ve never watched a single entry in the series?
That's a great question, and the answer is hotly debated! I started with the 2005 series pilot episode "Rose," but I know some find it hard to get into, what with the cheap effects and sort of over the top, tongue in cheek monsters. If you watch the pilot and aren't into it, check out the David Tenant series 3 episode "Blink" and the Matt Smith season 5 episode "Vincent and the Doctor," and then once you're in love with the series, go back to 2005 and start from the beginning. If you're crazy, like me, once you're fully in it, you can go back to the 1963 Classic era and watch all of those, but very few people do that 😅😅
@@Ginaippy2 Thank you!!
start with 2005
start with 2005 because the the 9th doctor is the best @@Ginaippy2
Does this mean there are 2 doctors now?
Have you not seen the episode? There are DEFINITELY two Doctors officially, at the moment. Of course, thanks to the wibbly-wobbly, they're technically all always in play.
...yes
Technically, from one person’s fixed timeline perspective, all the Doctors are alive at the same time. But yes, in the Doctor’s timeline, now there are two of them, I guess for a brief time. Not really sure how that works…
Excellent commentary. Could only listen because the fast wipe transitions made a strobe effect that was impossible for me to watch.
17:37 Aka The Doctor's wife!!! It's a really really long complicated story people!!!
Took your time, NR
Nothing about the extra teeth? The possibility of a return of Missy?
I still kind of feel like tennents dr still being around is just in case they take another risk that doesn't pay off, or the views drop again. Now they can have an instant rating spike by bringing 14 back for a quick cameo
Mentioning Amy and Rory still hurts
Gina ❤ Love from Belgium 🇧🇪 ❤
Hello!
Spice up your life. It's an old code but still checks.
Could be the Rani or Possibly Missy.
Nope, it's Kate. The polish is exactly the same.
I think avengers tower got sold to dr who
I don't know the whole lore or how it works but that's not Missy at the end picking up the golden tooth
It looks like Jinkx Monsoon/Maestro's hand to me 💅🏻
THANK YOU for pronouncing Bernard Cribbins’ name properly!
I thought the Toy Maker had big Q energy but I guess it's the opposite.
What about the debate about the king on the card being the face of Matt Smith?
it's clearly meant to be Neil Patrick Harris
Well David Tenant did age what did you expect
We just watched the origin of the Valeyard.
I’m not sure if it’s been noticed but Stooky Bill resembles the character Charlie De Melo… so there is a foreshadowing of what is to come. The real Stooky Bill had blond hair and different features.
i loved this ending because i got to have my cake and eat it too
