Good news, I like the improvements.
I would like to see GP outdoors or Outdoors with the Morgans.
Andrew I'm begging you to go with CAT. They are beyond a top tier engine and the support and service from CAT is amazing.
Glad you are seeing what to make an awesome processor work!! I dont have a UA-cam channel, so it won't be me!!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Im guessing In the Woodyard with Chris!!! Stay Hydrated and Have a Safe Day
Eastonmade #1 cheers 🍻 absolutely no doubt the best firewood splitters and processors hands down. Cummins ! 😆
Cant wait to see it run when all the changes are done. Its gonna be a beast.
At the Paul Bunyan I saw it saw. But the recovery time between cuts was lacking a bit. It just took too long to stand back up and cut. 65-70 hp for a blade that size is what I was told by people who know more than me.
#1 Perkins/Cat
#2 Deutz
#3 hatz
Saws working really good now dana. Appreciate the feedback
@@EastonmadeWoodSplitters I’m sure you got it tuned
Outdoor with the Morgans he making a clearing for it lol
Has to be with Chris and the boys at In The Woodyard!
More bigger is more better !
Thumbs-up number 560. Skidder Kev is my guess. Power that baby up!
Cat would be a great choice but you still have to look at costs for an engine and repairs. Kholer if they made one that had the horses you need to run this beast but reliability would not be a question with Kholer.
Outdoors with the Morgans
Hey Andrew, my guess is Outdoors with the Morgan’s, Mike keeps talking about building his firewood business and always speaks very highly of Eastonmade
Not a fan of the Morgans, the show feels like one big advertisement and Mike works it. Good for him, but I got out of watching it.
I’m willing to bet outdoors with the Morgan’s will be getting one of these Andrew!
What engine I'd like to see would be a Detroit 4-53T, but I know that's not really practical to put 50 year old engines on new equipment lol. But seriously from a service and parts stand point I would say kubota, cat, cummins, or John deere. Dealers for those 4 are quite common and parts are easy to source
Lookin good Andrew! I work at a cat dealer. Dealer network, field service and parts are tough to beat.
There is no replacement for displacement. Pour the HP to it. We had a Deutz powering our sawmill (5 cyl) and it was basically bullet proof.
Andrew, CAT would be the best choice in our area. I know it may be a bit more costly, but if you don't have a dealer/service department in your area for your equipment, the money someone would save by going with a different, cheaper motor wouldn't be any savings at all. There are no Hatz or Deutz in my area, I don't know if there are any in my state. As you already know, accessibility and support are of major importance in making a decision when purchasing equipment. Can't wait to see the finished product!
Awesome update Andrew! Looking forward to seeing what you an the team come up with! Andrew from NB :)
That is a very close what I am looking. Very nice work Andrew and well done! Here is my Ideas for this particular project.
#1: I want a folding conveyor.
But, it would fold back onto
itself in the shape of a “L”.
but I also need it smaller in
width and about 2-3”
deeper. The chain is like the
one on your Axis except with
double chain.
#2: I would like a captain’s cabin
on the left side.
#3: Have you ever thought
about using a Cummins
4bt engine with 105-HP?
And let’s not forget about
adding a “TOOLBOX”!!! lol
#4: Ad a side shoot for the
scrap chunks.
Andrew, I believe that sums it up nicely. I hope that these changes will be considered in production. Thanks 🙏 for coming out with this model.
P.S. You can name it: 40cs (S) Special. I hope you like my inputs and suggestions. I almost forgot about the chain on the conveyor. I want to use the same one that is on the load deck. And have a bolt-on plate type for the sawdust shoot.
Hoping it's Mountain top Outdoors. Very deserving. Everything there is Orange and Blue.
Just discovered this channel and Eastonmade. Living in Alaska I really like the cab on the 48C with a heater would be great to be able to run for most of the year.
The 48c is a nice machine. Thanks for checking us out
Excellent video Andrew you’re making something for the guys that do firewood for a living that’s affordable to them 😮😊❤
Thanks for the great update Andrew.
Some great improvements Andrew. Pretty exciting for the business and for customers. Looking forward to seeing it in action! Cheers!
Andrew that machine is going to do well for you. The slope in the infeed may not seem like a big deal to some, but it really is indeed quite helpful!
Would love to see the CAT motor go into this unit. Willing to bet this shows up In The Woodyard in the next week or two. Awesome
Thanks for sharing Andrew, get it all together and get it on the road> Stay safe , Fred.
I already know where it is going just waiting to and excited to see it show up
hey Andrew, as far as an higher horse power engine goes I would suggest having a look at the Kohler line of diesel engines. they are pretty solid and lots of dealer representation across North America.
Ray
Throw a CAT engine in it. One thing I've learned working in maintenance in a large factory is that things will always break when you don't want them to. The key is to either have parts on hand or find local companies to get parts you don't have. The ability to have a short turn around on parts or even having a dealer do the work, its worth paying a little extra.
When you decide on what hp rating to go for, I'd check out what the torque output for each engine is compared to what is currently on the machine. Running those pumps will require a lot of torque when under full load. Better to be ahead than overloading a small unit I'd say.
My guess is GP Outdoors
Looking forward to seeing run with the changes. It was pretty awesome to see it run at Paul Bunyan.
All those engine engines are pretty solid choices. I'd say Cat, just based on support. I know in my area Hatz and Deutz support are few and far between.
Mountain Top Outdoors, is my guess. Patti would love it.
Get a winch mounted on an arm and the end of the feed chain and a fold down loading ramp. Some of us have limited space and availability to bring additional support equipment to feed it. Perhaps even a bolt on log lift as well.
I'm not sure about the new Deutz engines but the older ones are pretty solid. We've never had troubles with them in our older tractors.
A really good friend of yours. Would that be Gord at GP Outdoors, or Kev at SkidderKev? I’m glad you changed out the belt for a chain.
distinct possibilities as they are reasonably local to Eastonmade HQ.
Can’t wait to see who gets it!
I can’t give you any advice on what engine to go with but I’m sure you guys will figure out what fits best. Love the constant modifications and improvements. Can’t wait to see the final product. The test run at the Paul Bunyan show was pretty impressive. I’m sure the tweaks will really have it running smooth and Rachel proof lol.
Which ever engine maker you pick, I think parts and service availability should be a key consideration. As to where it will pop up first on youtube, I think Chris at In The Woodyard would be the ideal candidate for this processor. The size and length of logs he buys would would suit this processor well.
You should send it to a place where the guy would buy one. Don't send it to a place he would never buy one because of cost. That is bad advertising
@@sirwallygator565 Remember Eastonmade is using social media (youtube, facebook, etc) as part of their marketing budget. So it stands to reason to send it to firewood channels that have a decent following and also produce videos regularly. In other words, to get as many eyeballs on their equipment as possible.
I’m sure you will figure it all out & put out a quality product .
Hi! I problaby would choose the Deutz engine. They have always been reliable, and quite easy to find parts for. 👍
I saw it at Bunyan, looked like it needed a few tweeks. I'm sure when its ready, it will be a beast like the rest of the Eastonmade line.
Hatz silent 🤫 pack engine would be fantastic Andrew 👍
Can't go wrong with cat. Everything is either on the shelf or in the next day 👍
Don't forget Yanmar. Totally bullet proof. Kubota is right up there to. I have a 5 cylinder Deutz, only one I've ever owned, massive amount of power. John Deere powers a lot of equipment they don't build in the forest industry.
More Power !
Hi Andrew!!😀😀
Was hoping to see it in Appleton Wisconsin. But the way it sounds it won't be ready in a couple weeks to come over here.
I'm guessing that it will be at GP outdoors.
A Deutz engine would be a good engine for on it. They make great stuff!!
Take care my friend!!😀😀💚
Logger Al
Jeff and patti or Chris in the woodyard. Love your products.
It’s going to In the woodyard to replace his processor!!
I think this might be at my house in a week or two
I’m going to guess In The Woodyard or GP. Leaning towards GP….we’ll see!
As always making the best better !
Hey theres tim!!! Im heading to the camp all next week.
say hello to the boys hope you get a slammer@@EastonmadeWoodSplitters
In the Words of Tim Taylor: More Horsepower!!!
Ugghhh ughhh ughhh lol
Chris @In The Woodyard! I watched you run it at Bunyan! Awesome machine just out of my league. 👍🏻👍🏻
Gavin got to run it at the show.
@@BertsCustomCuts He Will get to run it a whole lot more soon🤣🤷♂️
What happened to the rubber in feed??? I see this one has chain, said in the first video the rubber freezes down slips when wet. Glad to see it's a chain now
Hoping it's going to Rachel and Heath at Hard Working Man ! No matter where it goes It'll be a stretch for anyone to produce as much firewood as Chris over In The Woodyard.
Andrew i'll demo it. How about yanmar engine.
I’m curious, but have you considered a PTO driven processor? Thanks great videos.
Eastonmade with a CAT!?!? That's 2 out of 3 pieces to a wet dream!!! Not sure where it's going but they'll be extremely Happy when ot gets there!!!!!
I do know it WILL be tried and tested before going to the masses. Looking good Andrew. The machine, not you. LOL!!!!
Hello Andrew
Well, if this machine still requires some modifications, my guess is it’s not going far or across the border so the next logical place would be GP outdoors because he does not have a processor whereas Skidder Kev already does
Cheers Woody !!!
I’d pay a little extra to see a cat engine on there but that’s just me. Fairly easy to get parts for long term thinking
Ill be keeping an eye on Skidder Kevs channel
please, please, please use the yanmar engine... they are by far the best diesel engine on the market!!! ... and, I wish you would return using the Honda on your firewood splitters. (Vanguard engine on the Ultra needed a warrantee repair immediately; one on the 12-22 is working just fine) I might consider buying a processor in the future, perhaps
Outdoors in the 608.
In The Woodyard? Is Chris finally getting a processor for his brother Ken?
For channel guess I’ll throw out Earth and Bloom maybe a test run for his fundraiser?
Giggety
I wanna see it in action
Hi got a question, Homestead Jay did a video of extending his splitter knife higher, will this bend the ram, more force is now at the top , love your comment 🙏🇨🇦, good video to 🚀🪵🚜🏰👍
It will put a lot more leverage on it for sure
hi there good looking proooser john
I'm here friend
Outdoors with Morgan's!
Back 40 mentioned one of these on the Wood Hounds podcast this week. Is it this one?
Cat all day, all the way!
I'm guessing fire wood at the furnace will be demoing it soon.
You need some gravel in that yard,French drains under the wood pile so wood not sitting in mud.
Outdoors with the Morgan's
It's hard to guess when you say one of your good friends. You have so many so my guess would be. I don't think you're going to trade it with. Princess in the world Jared but I can see it going to mountain top about doors or outside with the Morgan. On a trial basis as Mike is looking to double his firewood for next year. And I think a processor is the way to do that. Or because it's just testing. And you wanna work out the kinks? And put it through its paces. It could be skidder Kev😂❤😅
My guess is Allen family Firewood
Can't beat a Kubota or Yanmar....
keep the Diesel Extortion Fluid off of it!!!
Maybe Mountain Top Outdoors. Lol.
Employee Discount!!🇺🇸🇨🇦
Make the processor smaller.. There is a reason people like me buy the European processors. It's because we are always takeng it to very narrow tight spots and your machine is just to big.. Try making a European style but make it Easton made... You bump that HP up and up the pumps you may as well just call it a big machine... Here is a reason why commercial guys buy the European ones and it's not cost
My vote goes to CAT....dealers everywhere with stocked shelves.
Just throwing a dart at the wall..
In terms of hp.
Mabe a standard and high output version.
Mabe one at 50hp~ and one at the 74 line in the sand point.
Not a bad idea at all. Unfortunately there really isnt a huge cost difference between the 50 and 74hp engines. We did a bunch of testing last week with the 74hp deutz and the machine is incredibly productive and easy to use
@EastonmadeWoodSplitters
Other than the cost difference.
The only argument I can come up with is, fuel consumption per amount of run time.
Anyway I'm just west coast r and d
Talking out loud.
LOL
Does Kubota have anything in that horse power range??
Drop it off in my yard;) I'll work the sh!t out of it!!!!!😊
Andrew's front yard
No mention of Commins? Patty is going to love that prahcessor!
Hard to get cummins in a smaller platform
@EastonmadeWoodSplitters what about the little 2.8 or 3.3
I thought one of the goals was being able to tow with a 1 ton truck? Will all the new add ons push the already heavy unit above the 1 ton towing capability?
I pulled it a couple of hours up to gords and back with my 2500 and it worked great
@@EastonmadeWoodSplitters Awesome...Just felt it was slowly getting heavier with each improvement and now adding a bigger engine and pump as well! Sure will be alot more versile if it can be pulled with a heavy 3/4 ton PU! Thanks for responding!
get the yanmar motor thats in everything diesel one. will last forever
Out of curiosity, when will the electric splitters be on your website? I made a fool out myself not recalling I watched the Axis video (with a tribute to a man who passed away) and didn't even know because I missed the video on the electric Ultra until I went through old content. I was confused because I went to thebsite and they weren't on there so I figured they didn't exist.
This processor looks awesome btw, especially if it too one day becomes available with electric.
We really dont do that many of them but can build them
@@EastonmadeWoodSplitters okay I was just wondering since I didn't see anything at the website. I'll keep that in mind, Andrew because if I get off the ground I wanna go electric, personally.
What?! No skidder kevs yard haha
What would be wrong with another Yanmar engine?
Cat engines are Awesome!!!!
Cat has a big dealer network but sometimes takes quite a while to get parts. We are in the logging business and have a cat yard crane and the engine blew and it took over 6 weeks to get a new engine. That is not good at all.I would not recommend cat.
Can it do a cord of would under 40 minuted
A full cord every 20 minutes or so
What kind of Lead time on this unit ?
3-4 months and after that be 4-6 weeks I suspect
