Your video was a nice peaceful way to wind down the day. I always enjoyed mowing hay. Enjoyed the smell of fresh cut alfalfa. The only bummer was if I ran into a cat, rabbit, pheasant, or some animal hidden in the hay. Not a good outcome for them.

A lot of other places had on average a seven year one. For us we usually get around 60 inches of rain annually. Last year we got 8 inches total. Was the worst in living memory. Alfalfa (they call it lucurne here) was the only thing that pulled us through for feed.
Great to see some mowing and I also like hearing about the farms and their stories. Thanks a lot. It would be nice if possible to see some more of the actions before chopping, like mowing and windrowing.
I'm impressed with how fast you seem to go! I would hate to think how long it would take to mow that hay with a WD 45 Allis pulling a 10 ft Haybine! That's what I used the last time I mowed hay for my Uncle about 47 yrs. ago!
The new way of cutting hay looks so much easer when I was growing up we used a Hey bind and had no satellite to drive of 1986 to 2020 how farming has changed. Great video

u sure wouldn't of been going that fast with a sickle bar mower of the old days.lol. jeepers i would lfew off the old tin seat for sure. i rode a lot hrs for my pap, had to manually lift the cutter bar at the end of the rows with them. i sure liked the video-so thank u!

I would love to bale that field In small squares. Looks beautiful. I like that mower setup 30’ a pass. And I feel in high cotton mowing with 2 tractors and cutters this year 20’ a pair lol
Over here in Cow Hampsha those skips are called "holidays" In order to be a safe mower you have to leave one close to the road so that as the mowing inspectors drive by o check on you they can see your error at a glance instead of having to really crane their necks and maybe get into a wreck. Mow safely!!
Lot's of pull type tine conditioner Pottinger's around here and are well liked and a few thousand cheaper than others. Good to see junior is potty trained now. Lol

We run a set of agco mowers with the tine conditioners, we have it on a 220hp tractor but 180hp would run it fine. The front doesn't follow the contours like those pottingers do though.
Its been dry as a popcorn fart in lower NY. The farmer was baling next to us and it didn't take long from the time he cut it to the time to bale. It looked like you could set it on fire in the field it was so dry

I like the ride in a good self propelled swather, always heard it was hard to run as fast in a triple mower setup, but would love your thoughts. Looks like you're moving along pretty good!

Will you make silage with this? How long will it sit in the windrow before the chopper comes along.? Or maybe it's for hay bales? We always swathed right infront of the chopper. We found if it was left to dry, it became difficult to pack in the silage pit.

we got our first rotary mower in the early 70's sure it had only 1,65m but it was so much better than anything we had before

with that machines u can drive pretty fast an farmer here has an 10m wide mower he drives up to 20km/h
