All of us Charger fans know that we didn't have blow out losses because of Herbert. Last night is what happens when you give the team someone other than Herbert. We couldn't do a 30 yard drive until 20 mins left in the game. And yet Herbert was blamed by many people for not being good enough ("he's paid to be the difference"). He is the difference, we are just that bad.
Let's have Brock, Tua, Lamar, Jalen, Patrick, Dak, Joe, Josh, Trevor go play on the Chargers in 2023. They aren't going to look as elite either. As a charger fan, I am tired of watching average/below average QBs get carried into the winning records because they have a better coaches and average defenses. And people use that W/L record to sh*t on Herbert. Even before Herbert went on IR, we had the 31st ranked defense. Not going to the post season with a 31st ranked defense.
The team had no faith in Stick or Stanley and they let it be known on the field.

He's still a very good coach, but he's being let down by the ownership and their lack of ability to put together a decent team.

I was at the Week 14 Broncos game and even before Herbert got injured every Chargers fan was fed up with Staley. People were chanting for him to be fired, but what really made it sting for me was that Antonio Gates (an absolute DAWG) got inducted into the Chargers Hall of Fame at halftime and had to watch his old team suck so bad.

Sadly it was too late to fire Staley. Should have fired him affter the Ravens game. If Kellen Moore would have been made interim headcoach aftwr the Ravens we could have seen what he would do as headcoach WITH HERBERT, but now we only have Easton Stuck so we wont truly know.
His offense right now looks a lot how Lombardi was running it before him so i was suspecting maybe Staley was having the final say on the play calling.

Exactly! If this game was 2 weeks ago, it would've been the perfect time to fire Staley... as it is, eliminated from the playoffs, bottom of the division, guaranteed to have a losing record, should've kept the man until black Monday, and tanked for maybe the 6-7th pick...

Good God. I’m not a Chargers fan, rather a big Justin Herbert fan going back to his days in Oregon. But I would love to see Bill Belichick coach the Chargers. Simply cause if there is anybody who could help unlock the rest of the team, it’s gotta be Belichick, as out of touch as he can be. I’d rather take a has-been Belichick than a never-was Staley ANY day of the week.

I've watched every start he's had this year, and it seems like he plays great when everything's on schedule and they're ahead of the sticks like almost every drive last night, but 3rd & long can be a big challenge for him. Very limited mobility, which is a real problem if the pocket collapses (a dealbreaker, imo) and he's thrown some pretty bad picks. He has a good arm and seems like a great guy, but just feels like an above-avg career backup to me.

I’m a Texans fan here. This was long overdue. Staley flat out couldn’t coach. He had no instincts, many say he was analytics driven, I think he was just an idiot that was over aggressive in every decision he made. Staley’s inability to change and adapt even when everything should have made him see this. Chargers need to hire Pat Moriarity as the next GM, Pat is the assistant GM in Baltimore, he has worked under Ozzie and now Decosta. For Head Coach I don’t think big names like Bellichik or Harbaugh are the answer, I think Ben Johnson of the Detroit Lions would be better.
