I had a ruler that lived like 90+ years and was constantly travelling because he became an emperor at 12 years, and in his 80 years of ruling the empire he encountered like a few dozen of those fucking knights who were after healing water, so yeah that pack i definitely a must have if you are tired of that particular event
@@ItIsYouAreNotYour i was the same with agot for ck2, i was interested in the fantasy elements, but the moment i began opening the wiki and reading anything that looked interesting was the moment i was ensnared, after that, to be honest agot was the only reason i descided to buy ck3, i recomend it if you are just a little curious, if you like dragons and/or medieval fantasy with cool knights it´s good (if you don´t like dragons you can play in later dates when they are extint or you know, early dates and hunt them yourself)
I can now live out the true Corlys RP. We don't have that much to Voyage to just yet in AGOT but this is pretty cool still. I'm loving all these things that get you out of your castle and actually just living life, although on the flip side it would be cool to get some internal stuff like court intrigue with courtiers and vassals, but that's a different topic.
I think the new travel events are so needed I do not even care about the rest of the stuff in some ways for the price this has been the best of these small ones
I haven’t bought any of the chapter 3 dlc yet, there is currently a small discount in the bundle in steam, does anyone know if there will be a better discount on Black Friday or should I buy the bundle now?
It's perfectly fine, been waiting for this to do a landed slow-RP game for the extra stuff to do. But looks like prestige/piety-gain needs to be nerfed again. It seems kinda off that every single adventurer I make is the most legendary and holy person in the world within 15 years when he's basically just a courier.
@ I've actually gotten bored of adventuring already because of how busted it is. Would love to see them actually balance it a bit, maybe make provisions more relevant, maybe make language and culture more relevant. Still don't get why a Basque Count is trusting my Cumbrian Wanderer to carry his valuable trinkets to Paris when he can't speak Basque and there's 0% cultural acceptance. I know I'm in a minority here but I really really want to see Language developed in this game.
I genuinely feel like the game needs stuff like this to just be free and included in every patch. Every patch should come with new events and stuff that flesh out minor mechanics and tie things in together, and adds a bit of diversity. That keeps people playing, expands the game for new people, makes them want to buy the full dlcs, etc etc.
I think they have a good balance of free to paid usually but after the legends criticism where most of it was included for free they kinda made the last two dlc have largely paid for features.
I guess my initial takeaway so far (only played about an hour with the new dlc) is that this new DLC is nowhere near as based and game improving as Roads To Power / Basileus was, but it’s pretty okay. It’s not bad. It adds some stuff and slightly increases the game
RE: Breweries. Another reviewer said that the Catholics get them- just because- but then everyone else has an option to choose it in the cultural traditions as a way to expand or change their culture.
@@Soul_Tomato Yes, of course. What I'd meant by that wasn't referring to the historical context but by the fact that you just get it if you play Catholic. You have to work for it if you play a different religion, because you must then work up to be able to change your cultural tradition.
I really love the DLC and hope this is something they can add to other games (not sure it can work but who knows). Also i love your taste in music, the background is just perfect. 5* review
I would've liked a little more out of this DLC, but we have just gotten RTP and it's not like this was particularly expensive. Overall, I think this chapter has been one of CK3's best in terms of just how much has been added (except for legends of the dead, which i'm still salty about). I hope this trend continues into the next year, and maybe we'll be getting Republics or Nomads soon!
I too hope for republics and nomads. Just sucks the other major dlc (legends) was such a dud. I think this would be the best chapter if it was even just a mid dlc and not an atrociously bad one
New lifestyle trees are really whatever, I agree with you and I doubt I will pick them as much as the main 5 lifestyles, also locking the hike and other journey to lifestyle focus feels limiting, just forcing to choose that lifestyle for the sake of it. I say that new events are cool, hiring mercenaries from landmarks one seem very strong. Got 600 special troops for 50 gold as adventurer. Maybe bit too strong. Also the event chain where someone kills another while travelling, I dont see a trigger they are not even rivals but someone just goes on a random murder spree, bit random. Mediocre pack honestly, should've been in the Roads to Power.
I like the increased variety of travel events. I don't like that you have to unlock the new activities. I tried monument expedition and it didn't really feel worth it to me.
I would say as a counterpoint, Wayfarer may be a okaay for an African gameplay, since some cultures there do have the storyteller culture trait. I believe?
Shy character are fine with pilgrimage, just stick to contemplative intent, the other two intent make you deal with people a lot more. Shy character tend to do fine with university, if you study hard.
This DLC doesn’t look good and doesn’t look bad. Just meh. If I hadn’t bought the Chapter 3 pack I probably wouldn’t have bought this. I was hoping for a lot more travel events.
Should we really be praising DLC that really should've been included in RTP? This is how we end up getting one dlc split into four and sold to us separately. I feel like they could be giving us more, but are choosing to capitalise on every little feature instead. At this point in CK2's life cycle, they'd released EVERY major DLC but Jade Dragon, Holy Fury, and Monks & Mystics. That's 11 Major DLC released in 4 years, not including all the other content, portraits and unit packs they'd released alongside them. It's hard to not be disappointed.
"Should have been included" doesnt mean anything for content expansions anyway. The content of DLCs are dependent on what they can include until the release deadline. So RTP would just have either released later and cost more if they included this, or something else would have needed to be left out instead. Thats just basic economics.
Youre clearly not travelling enough the 30% ekstra point of intresting reward makes it obsolite for you to do anything Else then to rush for that perk and then just gain all the otter perks from the other trees through travelling
Yeah that’s a good point. But to be clear I travelled a lot for this dlc. It takes time and it’s not something you’re going to prioritize over your main learning tree usually
It's just events. Its nice to have. You buy it so you dont get the same Healing water event or same knight falling in love event every time.
Pretty much yeah
ooooh thanks i thought theyd add new mechanics

These Nobles be Wandering
Where are they going to
These wanderers be nobling!
They do be doin that
They do be wanderin' indeed.
Mad wanderers, these nobles.
truly one of the dlc of all time
Undoubtedly
Touch Grass DLC
That’s all gaming tbh
Touched grass and STILL got the DLC. Win win.
The only reason i buy dlc is for ck3 agot lol, with that in mind, i imagine it will add more flavour to the asoiaf world
I love ck3 but ever since the dragon update to agot i cant go back to vanilla
Yup they should help the agot devs lol

Kind of a wacky DLC but we move
Event DLCs do tend to be smaller but it’s cheap
Might buy it just because its appropriately priced.
I like that tree is focused on buffing what you do rather than simply buffing your character.
Yeah agreed
The tree forcing you to go into it to get access though doesn't sound great.
@@ItIsYouAreNotYour Yeah, I'd rather it just buff you for the actions, not completely gate the actions.
@@TacticusPrime Yeah, exactly. That makes the most sense to me. Hopefully a mod changes it or even better they do.
Court Brewmaster: finally can get me a Friar Tuck at court
Waiting for the new chapter now
Chapter 4?
@Soul_Tomato Ah, I forgot to put *new
This will work great with being an adventure especially being able to fill the court positions
I agree. It’s a godsend for it really.
This would be absolutely amazing for godherja, becoming a Fog beast crusader and inspector that makes hellish cyrat possibly thrive

Pretty spot on
Roads to Power was so big and so good that I think we as a community have accepted this smaller, more inconsequential DLC.
This looks like my kind of DLC. I wasn't aware of it, but seeing as I had the season pack, I got it too. :D
RE: Breweries. Another reviewer said that the Catholics get them- just because- but then everyone else has an option to choose it in the cultural traditions as a way to expand or change their culture.
Tbf it isn’t “just because” it’s because monastic monasteries (many of which were Catholic) brewed ale - some still do I believe.
@@Soul_Tomato Yes, of course. What I'd meant by that wasn't referring to the historical context but by the fact that you just get it if you play Catholic. You have to work for it if you play a different religion, because you must then work up to be able to change your cultural tradition.

so, is wandering nobles separate from Roads to Power, or is it just the landless gameplay portion of RtP?
It’s separate. It’s not related to landless at all really.

Why no insular breweries? We Irish love beer!
Irish are Catholic in CK3 no?
@Soul_Tomato definitely not in 867, in 1066 I think it's split between insular and catholic
This actually looks cool
What about landless? 🤔
What about it? That was part of roads to power
@Soul_Tomato the lifestyle changes with a landless character, from what I know
Am I mistaken for feeling that this should have just been included with roads to power?

@@SockeySokaFeels like your valid criticism is 90% conjecture by volume and engaging with it honestly would be a huge waste of everyone's time
