Meet Dr. Johanna Archer

Johanna Archer, V.M.D., M.S., M.D., is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN) as well as reproductive endocrinology and infertility (REI). Before Dr. Archer received her medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia, she graduated from the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Veterinary Medicine and obtained a Master of Science degree in Endocrinology/Reproductive Physiology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She then completed her residency in OB/GYN at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina. From there, Dr. Archer trained in REI at the University of California in San Diego, California. During this time, Dr. Archer was recognized for her excellence in research by the American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM).
Dr. Archer is committed to creating a patient-centered environment by listening to her patients and providing them with the knowledge they need to comfortably move forward with their individualized treatment plans.
Dr. Archer is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), and the North American Menopause Society (NAMS). Her research interests include polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), recurrent pregnancy loss (RPL), endometriosis, and premature ovarian insufficiency (POI).
Dr. Archer provides patient care at SGF’s Norfolk, Virginia office. In her free time, she enjoys jigsaw puzzles and murder mysteries.
