I’d like to find a foundation with a finish like the Chanel les beiges water fresh tint, but thicker so it doesn’t dilute my sunscreen. No matter what anyone says, I know that putting something with 75% water over your sunscreen is going to make it ineffective
You could try using a water resistant / sweat resistant sunscreen underneath. Try to opt for the European ones since they are geared more towards summer use, so they are very resistant to those conditions. French laboratories such as La Roche Posay, Bioderma or Avène do them beautifully. Hope this helped
Angela Van Rose (works/worked for Chanel in Europe) said that Chanel released the Complexion Touch as a concealer for the Waterfresh Tint. It makes sense when we consider that tiny brush.
Hi Shelbey! I've been wanting to try these products after trying the EL double wear sheer so I will definitely be checking these out! ALSO, I would LOVE you to do a "clean" lips products roundup--lipsticks, balms, glosses, liners---Merit (Love Merit!!), Bare Minerals, Kosas, Ilia etc!!!!!!
I’m turning 60 in December and so the products you use are not always the ones I would go for. However I love watching you and your tips etc! You. Have a beautiful complexion xx
So true, her skin is not only pretty, but still tight… when you are young, you could use cheap products and still look great. Good skin genes and a little Tretinoin helps, but as you get older….(sigh)….it is what it is. You can’t go by how things look on someone young. Doesn’t stop me from being persuaded, though! I bought the original Water Tint, and don’t like it all. It looks like I have nothing on, without any benefit at all. I’ve been mixing it with a few drops of liquid foundation, and am getting the results I was hoping for, but for $65, I shouldn’t have to do that.
@@scherzo8022 I have a few liquid foundations in rotation, Armani Luminous Silk, or Clinique Even Better Glow. I think any not-too-oily or water based liquid foundation would work. Lately, though, I’ve been using Tula Protect+Glow sunscreen, and it makes my skin look so nice that I haven’t even been wearing foundation, just a little powder.
Water fresh tint ruined me for other complexion products. I just love the texture and how healthy it makes my skin look. I will definitely have to give the new product a go for the times I want a little more coverage.
I’ve never tried the original water tint because I can’t do fragrance but I am in love with the complexion touch! Don’t want to wear anything else now😂
Hi Shelby, I have combo oily skin and I love this product. You’re right, if you set it you shouldn’t have any issues. I mostly as a concealer instead of a foundation. Thank you for your review 😊
I’m only about 9 minutes in so I apologize if you answer this later, but is this a product that could be layered over the original to offer more coverage in the cheek and nose area? I have rosacea and need a tiny boost right across the middle of my face but prefer sheer everywhere else. Thank you so much!!
Well I have the new and the old and I think your description is absolutely correct! When I am not going anywhere I use the tint and I wear makeup over my sunscreen everyday because it makes me feel ready, for the day. I also purchased the new skin tint and I love it because it looks so natural. It was on the expensive side but I am glad i purchased it because it does have more coverage. Thanks 😊
Thank you for this! How do you think it compares to Mac F&B? I’m having to find a replacement since they changed the formula. I think the new Mac F&B is less pigmented than it used to be and thought this might similar to the original
Thank you. If we compare the new and old versions of Chanel and Bobbi Brown serum foundations, which one of them will be the thinnest? I like "make up without make up" look, currently i use BB serum foundation and its pretty good, but i want sth even more lightweight
Since the water-fresh is sold out everywhere I'm hoping it'll have the streamlined packaging when they get it back. I've wanted to try it but the packaging has kept me away, so clunky compared to my little Glossier skin tint bottle!
Oh if only I had your beautiful skin, I could wear no makeup too. LOL. Seriously though, with that little coverage my question is why? Why even deal with foundation? I would just use a tinted sunscreen and be done. This is like applying nothing on the face.
I think because it’s my job to try and review products I’m obviously gravitated towards testing most complexion products to see how they’d appeal to different makeup styles or preferences. The tinted SPF market is better than it used to be but I feel like there are only select few brands that offer an SPF that also has a great shade range and foundation style look. But to answer your question as to why I both with Chanel Water Fresh - there’s just something about it that makes my skin look so healthy and plump! One of a kind in my opinion.
I have the water fresh tint & I love it,it's a an extremely light foundation, not a primer..I jus dnt like how much of it it takes 2 use bc the consistency is so thin,it takes a lot 2 get it all over my face, even jus 1 coat of it so I feel 4 the price u should get more than an ounce bc of the thin consistency.
Plus for the cost of that you don’t even get much coverage. This time of year I would recommend the Estee Lauder double wear, there’s a way to put that on so it looks natural if you use a beauty sponge also the too faced Matte foundation will get you more coverage and can also be sheered out. If you want to go even more affordable there is a new foundation out by Revolution that is a soft matte, and will give you a beautiful natural coverage I have tried it, it’s $13, that is it! It is beautiful. Bought it at Ulta.
I have been mixing the original one with a few drops of liquid foundation and it works great that way. By itself, it just doesn’t do anything for me. I don’t need coverage, but do like to look more polished and evened out. Alone it looks like I just applied a light serum moisturizer. Every single review I’ve seen raves about it. I just don’t get it. I did get the light medium, it was the lightest shade available the day I bought it, I’m wondering if the results would have been better with the light.
@@aprileaton9025 I had the medium one, and that wasn’t bad enough, so I decided to buy the light…the light works a little better on my skin, but I still mostly mix it. So far the best ones I’ve mixed it with are the Chanel foundations I have, Armani Luminous Silk, and LOreal - the serum one, name something like Nude Match or True nude…comes in a dropper bottle. It works well with very liquidy foundations, not thicker or cream ones. I just mix a drop of each on the back of my hand, more or less foundation depending on how much coverage I want.
I wanted to try it, but not sure what color to get. The website is not too clear. I am always a Medium sometimes Medium Tan. Usually Neutral Warm tones.
I contacted Chanel directly and they told me the Water Fresh Tint is discontinued. Also, all colors are sold out at Chanel, Ulta, Macy’s, and Nordstrom.
British Beauty Blogger suggests using complexion touch as a concealer, along with the water tint as a base, which sounds genius to me!
But 120 for this amount of foundation 😮

It plays well with others because it’s sixty five dollars and knows better than to be fussy

Really? The brush with the original water fresh tint is also really small like that.
I actually like the brush from the original one, it works really well lol
Huh?! I had no idea Angela works/worked for Chanel. Makes a lot of sense now.
I don’t think she works for Chanel, she works in finance.

It really is a breath of fresh air 😍
I can’t figure out how to apply this with out seperation and weird pilling?

Can you say which sunscreen you use with the water fresh tint? The wateriness is hard to use to keep spf effective
i didn't even think of that? How did it work with SPF?/which do use?
And The original water fresh foundation is only $65! That’s just insane when there are so many other wonderful foundations out there.

Hi!! Did u also see the fresh water blush on Chanel’s website? Thought that would also be right up your alley! ❤
Yes but they were sold out!!!
Hello what primer were you using on this ?
I use Complexion Touch all over and then spot cover with a traditional foundation only where I need extra coverage. Agree it plays well!
Sounds amazing 🤩

Thanks Shelby! What moisturizer and or primer are you wearing under the foundation?

As a girly stepping into the “fancy” make up world would you recommend Chanel foundation or Dior backstage foundation? Because now I’m stumped 😅
I’m also trying to decide between Chanel foundation and Dior / ysl!

Is Chanel going to continue water fresh? My Nordstrom hasn’t had it and indicated it my be discontinued?
You can't even get the original anymore 🤷🏽♂️💔
