I was at the concert and remember taking photos. I must have been standing near the stage, but I couldn't spot myself. I lived in Hamburg at the time. 20 years later after having moved back to Berlin I saw Gary Brooker with Procol Harum at the Columbia Halle. Matthew Fisher was still with the Band. It was a great concert.
I finally got to see Procol Harum for the first time in 1991 during the Prodigal Stranger tour- I have been an ardent Procol fan since 1973. As a solo player- great band with Tim Renwick on guitar. R.I.P. GARY, miss you!
Thank you so much for this fabulous and unique treasure and everything else you have uploaded👏👏 The 'key moments' addition is a superb feature to add as well. Don't think I've ever heard better bass-playing and a great band that seemed to have a ball that night. Great audience too, very appreciative. Poor Tim is low in the mix sometimes. I would happily discard SS Blues and Chasing the Chop for any of Savannah, Low Flying Birds, Mr Blue Day or Ghost Train though 😀 'That's it' said Gary at the end 'I'm out of puff'. He put his heart and soul into this concert and everything else he did. So sad that he is gone forever 😢May he Rest in Peace 🙏
How awesome to see a young hot Gary again w/ a smokin' band. Love The Angler, Dog (of course) and them rockers at the end...Poison Ivy, Switchboard Susan...Miss his enormous talent, skill and soul forever...
.... and what a shame this band never toured 🙁 I know Gary said the financial risk was a great one but with Flying being a number 2 hit in Holland (as was A Salty Dog) and Say it Ain't So receiving so much airplay, I believe one would have been really well received, especially in Europe. Would love to have seen them live.
Gary's voice is a bit tired, but still captivating. It looks great, a bit cocky. The material is almost free of Procol Harum. An excellent concert. Perfect solo Gary Brooker with great musicians having a great time. How I regret not being at this concert. By the way, I consider the album "Lead me to the water" to be Brooker's best solo album. I don't think I've ever seen the title track live, and I've seen Procol Harum about thirty times, here in Europe and in the States (maybe they played it in 2007 at St. John Paul's in London for their 40th anniversary?). Herr Herman Braunschmidt certainly knows this, maybe I will find this version of "Lead me..." on the right video.
Ronnie, very well said! Despite all his incredible skills, John Gibblin wasn't necessarily the best choice for this project for me. You may be pleased to hear that since August 2016 (when Roland sent me a link) your sons have been my number 1 heroes. I hope so much that they come back to Germany or Holland this year.
Thank You very for this music . RIP Gary. Modlę się za Ciebie.

Had no idea his live solo music was so enthralling after the golden years with Procol Harum. Perhaps time to re-evaluate his career outside PH.
H. Braunschmidt, always amazing stuff from your channel- thank you for this gem and for all the treasures you have generously shared! be well!
Don't forget, tomorrow is Gary's death anniversary.

Thank you so much for this. Nice to watch young Gary. Awesome 👏
Absolutely love this gig. Top quality 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
Sehr schöne Erinnerungen. Rockpalast war bei uns im Osten Pflicht.
Hartelijk bedankt Hermann. Had nog niet alle nummers van dit eenmalige optreden. Wat mis ik zijn muziek anno 2023.
"Another Way" is my personal favorite...
Amazing again... Thank you!!

R I P mr.Brooker, thank you, we are remember...
42:59 - Brooker's great roar
Interesting version of "Homburg". Who knows, maybe it's better than the one played by Procol for years in the New Testament era.
😂😂😂❤
Gary rules! That chorused bass does not.
