    This seems like a very laborious antiquated system. There are computer programs that do a lot of the work..

    so how do you get the wax crown off the plaster tooth?

      The wax is removed around the preparation (the red line) allowing the wax crown to be removed.

    Very informative thanks, Do you give back the gold sprue to the customer?

    • @portionssnus
      @portionssnus 4 роки тому +1

      No, the sprue material is the owned by the lab and reused for another crown. The patient is not billed for this material, only the weight of the crown and a small extra weight that is lost when finishing is billed.

      What is the net amount of gold that is required for making a complete crown, including the wastage?

      @@sabarangmukbangs9950 On average, it takes about 4 grams of good gold alloy, 5 grams of very good gold alloy to make a molar crown. But this technique is outdated now in dentistry. We are now digital, 100%. The dentist can 3D scan the patient and the part is designed on a computer, then sent to a milling center where it is milled from gold pucks. It is pretty awesome.
      This video is excellent to show how many different steps there are in this old way. The author has done an excellent job throughout and made a nice looking crown. That is not easy to do, consistently with all of those steps, and materials involved. Digital workflows eliminate almost every one of the variables in the process he shows where human error could negatively affect the outcome. Milled gold crowns are 99.6% of the time successfully delivered to the patient.
