    the way you chaotically flipped to a random page before starting on a very detailed drawing filled me with an emotion that’s hard to describe

    • @qualifiedcornstarch6859
      @qualifiedcornstarch6859 5 років тому +17

      I relate so much honestly. I don't want to commit to drawing on the first page, the last page, or the next page in sequence ... and I want enough paper to protect the other drawings, so that ink doesn't bleed onto them, the pressure doesn't smudge them if they're pencil, and the pressure on the paper doesn't lift graphite off the page onto the page it's next to.

    I love watching Peter's videos in real-time because I get to see all the little wobbly's and shaky-bumps n' such. Makes me feel better about my own art. Sometimes I feel myself getting suppressed by my own perfectionist tendencies when I make a wobble in a line or accidentally whoopsy-doodle a bit. But then I remind myself that, if Peter can create such stunning pieces with all sorts of imperfection by integrating it, then I can too. Thanks Pete.

    • @vangoghsseveredear
      @vangoghsseveredear 5 років тому +3

      Seriously. I put art down because none of it is perfect enough or how I envision it and I get flustered. My biggest problem with art is my own perfectionism, by far

    The fact that you brought up sleep was kinda funny. I brought up the video to let you talk while I tried to sleep cause your voice is really nice. TBH I was just trying to calm down because I've had three panic attacks tonight and I haven't even had anything happen to me that was out of the ordinary. there is something about this that brings me peace, I don't know if it the fact that I get to draw with him? maybe I am really lonely, IDK. But their way before drawing i was very uneasy and then I put this video on with the intent of having company with me, or at least a calming voice to guide my lines, even if that voice doesn't have any tangible control to what I draw it still helps to hear someone voice besides my own. I always here my voice and I get tired of it so these videos really help...
    thanks peter.

    When trying to remember a persons name, Use their name in a response as soon as they introduce themselves.
    For example:
    Stranger: "My names ____, nice to meet you"
    You: "Lovely to meet you, _____ (/?), I'm ______"
    Continue to use their name when appropriate to memorize their name.
    Using peoples names in conversation also builds trust and respect. It's why your local coffee shop asks for your name when they get your order. 'Suzzie with the decaff flat white' not only builds customer loyalty but it also enables baristas to recall 500 customers order as soon as they step in the door.

  • @xiaobai7060
    @xiaobai7060 5 років тому

    16:44 Yeah i have the same problem XD. I forget names as soon as people tell me and sometimes faces too. I evolved with it, and now i just don't say names. To get someone's attention, i will say, "hey", or i will just start talking and assume they will be listening. No one notices. It is more embarrassing to ask names. I can't remember names unless i hang out with them for 3 or more consecutive days, and I forget names very easily over time. When i stop hanging out with close friends for too long(like a few months), then i forget their name again. There was even a time when i hung out with a girl and her whole family for an entire day and when she saw me the very next day, i was awkward and thinking, "why is this girl talking to me so familiarly??" lol! Once She realized that i didn't recognize her, she walked away... then i slowly started to realize who she was and i was in turmoil... XD. I think we stopped talking after that, but i really did like her, i just have horrible memory. I wonder if she thought i was trying to ditch her or something.. ohh well.
