- Dale Jr races at North Wilkesboro Speedway for the Revival. Here are the Highlights
#nascar #dalejr #racing #motorsport #sundrop #chevy #chevrolet #chevroletcamaro
I applaud Dale Jr on revitalizing North Wilkesboro speedway and bringing back the fans.
Way to go Dale Jr.
It was a great event
This is the way racing should be. None of Nascar’s “stage-racing playoff” BS.
Hoping this is a regular deal @ N Wilkesboro
Me too
They literally had a “stage” where they came in and took tires like half way through the race
I think any grass roots series would have a break at the halfway point of the race. It's obvious they don't do live pit stop and can't a afford a full pit crew roster. Just look at ARCA East/West, Whelen Modified for example.
@@Blakedecker092 they always done that..
@@Blakedecker092 If the race isn't one caution after another then a half-way stop doesn't affect the outcome of the race usually. Back in the day green flag pit stops didn't affect the running order much if everyone made a clean stop. A mid-point stop reduces the chance of someone getting hurt in the pits and spinouts/wrecks from tires giving out.
It gives me a thrill just to hear race engines again at North Wilkesboro, never thought it would happen
It was top five on my list of races I’ve ever been too. It was an amazing event.
@@BolognaBurger I worked in the pits during its heyday those were sweet times, many good memories
That track seems to be just the right size for the spectators. Or maybe it's just me.
@@tayronachan short tracks are perfect for viewing the whole track.
You think if they add all the track safety like the safer barrier they would add it on the schedule?
NASCAR should pay attention and see that the mistake they made by abandoning their fans is going to spell their doom. This place was crowded with real stockcar racing fans who haven't forgotten nor forgiven how they were treated. There were more people at this Wilkesboro race than attended the 2020 Brickyard 400. Think about that NASCAR...think about that real hard.
I think they’ll be back and I hope they keep the late models racing there as well
Took Kentucky two
Yes it was a huge Turn out of fans but can they Sustain that amount of people. I am sure Nascar is gonna have to take a look at this and try to send the Truck Series there and eventually Xfinty goes there. Track would need tons of upgrades before Cup would return. I couldn't tell but does this track have the safer walls on every inch of wall. Track needs repave and the Grandstand is small compared to most Nascar cup Tracks. I think the catch Fences need to be replaced. It's much better than it was 5 years ago.
Wasn’t that because there wasn’t any fans allowed at the track during the pandemic? That doesn’t mean anything.
Well to be fair the 2020 Brickyard 400 was during COVID so there was no tickets sold. Just like every other race that year. But for factual reference, the Brickyard this year sold 60k tickets according to the IndyStar. N Wilkesboro last Wednesday was sold out at 18k.
That 3 car looked awesome
For sure. He waited just a little to long to go I think. Saved tires too much but he was close.
@@BolognaBurger Dale said the dented rear quarter panel was scuffing the back tire and he couldn't push it any harder. Great race with competitive cars and good driving by everybody.
There's going to be a diecast made.
dale jr is a great ambassador for the sport and i appreciate what hes doing to preserve the history of it. a lot of people dont think he deserves to be in the hof, but he deserves to be in it just for preserving the history of the sport, im proud to be from the same state as him. the guy just loves racing and its infectious.
He absolutely deserves to be in the HOF. He was great for the sport and kept the sport together after his dad died. He won a bunch of races, Awesome plate racer. Absolute GOAT as far as an ambassador to stock car racing period. Not to mention is awesome in the booth as well. You know what his wife Amy says "People love him as much as I do". Imagine what he could have done if he hadn't gotten the brain injuries. We will never know. God Bless Jr and his family!
amen
I honestly wish Jr worked for NASCAR and was able to make better calls and get the sport pointed back in the right direction.
Anyone who it doesn't believe Dale Jr should be in the Hof is viewing him through a very narrow lens
I agree. He’s helping build the sport for the future
Great race. Love how Junior praises the younger drivers and the regular short-track drivers.
Indeed. It was a great event from start to finish.
Can you imagine how the driver's felt to race side by side with Little Bug 😂
Dale JR is a treasure! Chevrolet 🇺🇸🏁👍
He is an owner of late models, so he is invested into local race tracks.
You do better camera job than the networks, junior did good, thanks BB. 🏁🏁
Thanks DDD
This would have been the most American night ever. Fireworks, stock car racing, and beer. Wish I could’ve been there!
It was awesome
Very cool footage. Jr was almost in tears after the race. I really hope this is the start of the Wilkes County Revival
Me too. Thanks Bumblebee
It's easy to see why. NASCAR lost its appeal to him. Besides the career ending issues, I'm sure Dale got bored of what NASCAR became. This feel more like the roots he grew up in, and he performed very well!
after the news today....i would say major upgrades are coming at north wilkesboro
Good to see them racing 🏁 there remember watching race there on TV good to see Jr on there
Thanks Auto
Better racing then nascar cup
It was fun for sure
Watched this after listening to Jrs recap. He didn't mention coming out to wave at the crowd at the end. This guy is single handedly driving this tracks rebirth by making it worth it to the locals. So classy of him to acknowledge most everyone was there to see him run.
Definitely cool. A very special event glad they put it together.
Sun Drop was a rare once a year treat for me visiting my grandparents in Alabama as a kid. So it's always had a special place to me
It is good stuff
I watched NASCAR all through the 90's and into the mid 2000's religiously, but somewhere along the line the soul of the sport soured, and I haven't watched since Mark Martin retired. Honestly, take these cars, get Jr, Bobby Labonte, Tony Stewart, Morgan Shepard, Dale Jarrett, Ken Schrader, and all the other guys we loved, throw them in these cars, and take them to Bristol, Rockingham, any track at a Maximum a mile, and watch the tracks sell out. Tony Stewarts SRX setup has the right idea, but it's just not quite there, this right here is what would bring me back to watch again.
That would definitely be a great show
I'm so glad to see this famous racetrack active once again. It pained me to no end to go by there and see it just moldering away, considering it's rich history.
Me too it was great
This is Real Racing boys 🇺🇸🏁👍 Thanks Dale JR! Southern Boys.
It was a blast
@@BolognaBurger Makes you wanna ignore Nascar. To much Politics.
They need to get a Nascar Legends race together. The over the hill gang that have retired in the last 20 plus years. That would be a damn good show.
It definitely would be
I absolutely love seeing him in a car with a big 3 on the side!!!!
It was cool
Awesome, that #8 car was "gone" lmao :D
Yeah Kvapil checked out race for second was good though 😂. Jr owns the 8 so 1 and 3 ain’t a bad day
@@BolognaBurger just realized that was Kvapil, alright :)
Never thought i'd live to see the day this track would ever have racing on it ever again
It’s definitely a good day
Reminds me of what NASCAR once was.
It was a great night
The sound is dope!
Thanks Verrückter I agree. It sounded so good I didn’t feel like I needed to add any audio to it so I just let it roll.
Sounded and looked great. Thanks BB
Glad to do it
So cool to see racing at North Wlkesboro again. I’ve seen a lot of great races here back in the day. I hope they can keep this going. Heck Dale Jr. needs to come out and have some fun with the boys!
I think they’ll keep running late models up there for sure
GO JR. !!!!!!!!!! 👍🏎️🏁🏆😃🤓
👍
I'm Australian and love this form of motorsport but lost to why there isn't more short track racing.??
. it's awesome!
Because the men in suits would rather sell overpriced tickets to boring cookie cutter 1.5s you can barely see anything at then real down and dirty short tracks.
Yeah us fans want the short tracks we are just as lost as you as to why the got rid of most of them.
I'm in awe this is so great! I live in the northwest and we got a good dozen short tracks here. I'm a huge late model fan and this type of racing is so exciting! It's hard to win every weekend! You just never know what's going to happen, and there's no stage racing, no playoffs, it's just a good 125 and 200 laps from green to checker just like the old days. the weight/hp ratio of these cars is perfect! they flipping fly!
Nothing better than the smell of vp110 leaded!
Kind of reminds me of peppermint 😂
🏁👈😎👍
I think late models are one of the hardest to win in hands down. That race fuel definitely smells great
Awesome looking car and some tight racing.
It was awesome buddy
Great job videoing. NBC callin soon. NEEEEEXT!!
Haha. Thanks
Great Job Kyle. Junior Drove. Hell of a race. Jr Motorsports 1st and 3rd Great Night High Rock Vodka Car 10th in it's Race
It was a great night for sure
Maaaan I wish NWS would make it into the Cup series. One of the best short tracks.
They got the all star race according to reports.
@@BolognaBurger awesome 😎🤘
If Dale Sr was here today , you wouldn’t be able to knock the smile off his face. This is awesome. Hopefully it’s the start of something to bring back the original feel of stock car racing.
👍👍👍✌️✌️✌️
Rumor is the all star race next year
Sr would have probably been out there racing.
Y'all ever see that show abandoned on vice back in like 2016-17 the North Wilkesboro episode was one of my favs. Bet that kids crazy happy now.
Definitely has to be it was a fun event
Not very many drivers can say they could draw the attention Dale drew at that track
Amen to that
SLIDE JOB!!!!
Haha yep
what a night!!
It sure was
Kinda of like the Mexican Pizza at Taco Bell . You take it away for a while people crave it and BAM it’s back only difference is it’s Wilkesboro baby . Raise Hell Praise Dale .
For sure. Glad it’s back myself.
really nice to be there ,in the middle of 1 and 2
For sure. It was a great event. I was I little farther down at the exit of 2
They should have NEVER left. Sometimes 'seemed like a good idea at the time' just isn't a good enough excuse. This track needs to come ALL the way back and be what it SHOULD have been: A great race at the heart of the sport.
I agree. Should’ve stayed on the schedule
Love me some Dale Jr.Like I did Sr.Jr.has some big shoes to fill, and he has done a fantastic job.
He did great
You can see why jr is the most popular driver. He's humble. Not like these young punks.
He’s definitely a nice guy
Packed stands at North Wilkesboro Speedway. Take that NASCAR. North Wilkesboro Speedway is still one of your tracks NASCAR. You neglected it. NORTH WILKESBORO SPEEDWAY IS BACK BABY!!!!!!
I’m glad it’s back as well Tanner.
Now this is a good time. For those who hate this kind of racing, have never experienced it.
It was fun
Thanks. My friend was there said it was the best event in racing he’s been to in a long time.
It’s in my top 5 for sure as well. Very special
I like that camera bro! Think I was sitting behind you! Great Vid!
Thank you did my best.
Loved it. Dale is such an ambassador. First class!!! ❤️ 🙏 ❤️
He sure is
It was cool seeing Jr. Racing again. Would love to see him in a world of outlaws car.
Jr. said he'll never race on a dirt track because it takes years of experience to get good. He's just racing late models for fun.
They’re racing dirt at Wilkesboro in October so maybe not Jr but might see some dirt guys head that way
Dale should purchase NWS. I know how much he loves it.
He loves Fairgrounds in Nashville too
He hasn’t bought it but he is definitely strongly influencing the decision making there
I love Dale he's my original favorite it's awesome to see him race again😍❣️
It was fun
Some day soon Nascar will be calling to make a pitch for their latest gimmick. I hope North Wilkesboro hangs up on them.
I think they’ll be back from why I saw there but hope they keep the local drivers in a series as well
@@BolognaBurger I can see the pre-race show already. Talking about the history, the great fans, the great racing etc. In other words all the stuff Nascar threw in the trash when they decided to leave in the first place. People always say North Wilkesboro deserves Nascar. Nascar doesn't deserve them.
Thanks for the race vlog !!!!!!!!!!!
Glad to do it
More fans in the stands than nascar races! Good show all!
It was awesome
Sounds great whoever filmed it has a steady hand. LOL, are they all Chevys?
Thanks Daniel. Mostly Chevys but some fords out there for sure and a few Toyota noses too.
America's grass roots cathedral to speed breathes life once again and the roars can be heard for miles around, as the old ways show they are still around and what was once presumed dead....is still coughing up blood and the toil, sweat and tears of a thousand labours restarts a once forgotten pulse.
Well said
Dang good racing.....
👍
That gave me chills! So good to see cars on the track, packed grand stands, and a good race. I hope ARCA and the trucks make a visit there!
I hope they get some touring series as well
Great camera work. Gotta love the short track racing
Thanks Troy
What would’ve made this even sweeter is if that #3 was wrapped in a wrangler paint job.
That would be cool
Some great racing going on there!
It sure was
Awesome Bologna Burger !!! Excellent video and good camera work following the action around the track. It was great to see racing at North Wilkesboro again and to see Dale Jr back in the race car. Looks like all the fans had a fun night. Thanks 😄👍🏁
Thanks Mike. It was a special event for sure
@@BolognaBurger your welcome
I'll add to the good job on the 📷 , not bad . I really think its cool as shit Jr pretty much doesn't want the spotlight. He just wants to enjoy life right now. He wants the regular all season long guys to be recognized and that says so much about who and what Dale Jr is all about. Good dude right there.
He did a great job should be a Dale jr download with a bunch of drivers from this race in it
Thanks for telling me my camera work was good I definitely did the best I knew how
badass
For sure
great camera work !! this was a view from just above my position off turn two,
i thought i saw you (mr.burger)out at the sundrop can balloon ,
i should have stopped in to say hello but the hotdog line had delayed me a bit already was short on time..
glad you made it out.. i drove 679 miles round trip and got a speeding ticket trying to get back in time for work
the parking lot was packed and was held a while after the race.. i ended up taking a nap while waiting to get out.. then got the ticket at sunup trying to make up for lost time..
humm as it turns out the court date is oct.6th leading into a three day weekend of dirt nationals..
soooo guess i will have to attend court and take a couple days vacation..
instead of the spur of the moment decision i made this time for the late model race ..
but it was worth it!!!..
it was what reminded me of the late seventies
shortrack event.. packed... friendly... and well recieved by all.....
It was definitely a great event
Thank you, I’ve been following the N Wilksboro story for awhile now. Great to see them racing there again.
Thanks Gary for watching
👍
Thanks for posting this!
👍 thanks for watching
Only here for dale jr
👍 all good
Racing the way it should be!
👍
What an atmosphere 👏 👌 🙌....wish I could been there, sometimes life is a cruel beast!!!
It was awesome
Back to the racing roots..No playoffs..Love thisThat is what racing was and always should’ve stayed.Nascar changed for the worst..Sadly
It was a great night and race for sure
Seems more people will be shifting toward late model racing soon if NASCAR continues to push toward entertainment nonsense with playoffs and more superspeedway conversions like AMS and soon might happen to TMS.
Jr for nascar president...
He definitely would be better than what we have
I agree.
Good ol short track racing. I was too young when the track closed it doors in 96 thanks to TMS (I HATE this track). Glad to see it's back. Hope it keeps it's momentum and support growing. I'm putting this track on my bucket list for next year to visit hopefully. Even though I don't know who is what racing at grass roots series other than what title of video was, NOW THIS IS WHAT YOU CALL GREAT RACING!!!!!!!!!!
I hope they keep it going as well
Very good race
It sure was
Phenomenal
Thank you. It was a great event
I love it
👍
I believe he had many chances to lead this race more and ryn away with it but one he dont hv to race that hard anymore plus he just wants to hv fun 2 he wants these other guys to enjoy the win🤷♂️😁loved this btw
He saved tires and then went for it at the end. His teammate won though 1st and 3rd pretty good day
Is DaleJR making his Late model comeback part time at least. Damn those cars sound good
He did for this race not sure about the future
That was awesome! Thanks!
Glad I could film it for you
Junior at the end of the race was why the fans love him so much. He may not have won, but he took a polish victory lap to thank the fans for coming out.
For sure
Thnx BB !!
Glad to do it
Awesome stuff! Glad they got the track up and running again.
It was fun
thanks Mr Burger
Glad to do it Bones. Trying to get as many people an opportunity to see some of that great event as I could.
@@BolognaBurger Mr Burger you are wonderful salute , I know the love of the sport you give in your videos thank you Enjoy ua-cam.com/video/q6NskLyMpRc/v-deo.html old school my friend😂
It didn’t hurt that Carson Kvapil, former NASCAR driver Travis Kvapil’s son, and the current Jr Motorsports Late Model driver replacing Josh Berry, was driving Dale Jr’s, Jr Motorsports #8 car and won!
True.
Damn that’s better than nascar any day that’s Winston cup racing
It was a fun time for sure
Thank You for the video!! I have been to the track for a couple of cup races and the last time I went by the track I never believed there would be racing again. North Carolina Late Models did themselves proud with great racing!!!So happy to see those stands full!!
Glad to do it Terry hopefully we get more chances to watch races there
@@BolognaBurger It looks like momentum is with the track! Best memories were picking up fried chicken at a roadside stand while in traffic, and seeing Ernie Ervin return there after Michigan accident. That was one of many great Nascar memories!!
AWESOME RACE! Thank you SO MUCH for doing this, BB, for those of us who had no way to be there or watch it live.
I did my best for you guys it was a special night and I wanted everyone to at least see some of it
Man those late models are loud!!
For sure buddy
Nothing sexier then a late model !!! Wish they could get some of the retired drivers out there and have a race. That would be epic!
Probably could’ve if there wasn’t a tire shortage so they could field more cars
Those are loud and fast cars. For late models. I use to go to Harold's Restaurant all the time which is down the road from that track if you turn left coming out of it. I got the foot longs.
Nice
I know Jr had the time of his life in that race ! Hope this can be a start of bigger things for this well deserving, and historical, track.
I think it’s well on its way to being back
Was it cool to meet you there last night. A great night of racing.
Thanks Patrick good to see you too.
The last year they ran there I went to the spring race and Geoff Bodin spanked everybody on the Hoosier Tires.
He was always good there
@@BolognaBurger if I'm thinking right Geoff lapped the entire field except Terry Labonte and it seems like Earnhardt finished 3rd or fourth 2 laps down .
Man that was awesome! Thanks for posting.
👍
I can only imagine how much SunDrop was consumed
Haha lots
I think it would be great if North Wilkesboro, was on a NASCAR National Touring Series schedule again, someday, after they remodel it, preferably Xfinity or Trucks, or maybe both, but I wouldn't want North Wilkesboro's potential return to NASCAR someday, to come at the expense, of short tracks NASCAR already races at, in any of their top 3 Series.
I hope they do
There was more people there than the Atlanta Xfinity race.
I wouldn’t doubt it. Standing room only
Looks like a good time at the racetrack that night!!
It was definitely a blast
Thank you bro for the video
Glad to do it Tony
@@BolognaBurger yeah junbug I think Benny Parsons called Jr that lol love you bro take care
Some of the coolest sounding cars I’ve ever heard!!!! What engines are those?
Yeah they sound MEAN! :)
Harrington Enforcers which are basically a Chevy spec engine and a Ford crate with a “hot cam” are the two most popular
Love the ol' flat tappet, solid lifters! Sounds quite different than the new roller motors.
🏁👈😁👍
@@BolognaBurger I literally looked at their rulebook today. Points system is quite interesting when looking at bonuses along with year end bonus, and earning 2 points if dnq but need to attempt some laps. Looking at engine section, when I saw HMS Enforser, first thought was Hendrick. Googled, turned out it's Harrington's Machine Shop.
