With 37 cars in the field and a max of 40, why wouldn’t someone just put a car together and race without a charter? I know more cars show up for the plate races, however I don’t think that should be a deterrent. The 88 UPS is the most famous one for me.

svg is a great driver in his series can he win rd courses of course but there's a lot of other things that will derail him break downs,wrecks,tires,penalty and he's not a good oval racer mostly 20th in xfinity in cup I just don't see it with his age good guy though but not a nascar racer!!!

Hope things work out for ZS, I'm sure they will. On another note, I read a report this morning that Haas racing will be laying off 323 employees starting the day after the cup series final (November 11). It's hard to imagine that number of people to support the 4 cars that they had, that's 81 people per race car! And that's just the number being let go, probably not all. No wonder they couldn't make a profit!

Every time I hear the 88 car all I can think of is the blue thunderbird. I know it was also UPS brown and white, but my mind always goes to the blue DJ car.

Fun fact, the 88 in Australia belongs to the winiest driver in supercar history, Jaime whincup, long-time team mate of the Gis, and is the longest tenued number in that team (longer than 888). Bit of familiarity.

SVG might be one of these driver who not in the top 30 who has a shot to win, and Smith has to know when he sign on with Trackhouse he very well would be the odd man out but maybe they told him something difference at the time.

I think that Cannor Zilisch's rivalry could be with William Sawalich for many years to come. I watched both of them yesterday in Milwaukee and they had some good side by side racing. The only reason Sawalich is not leading the standings is because he was too young to run the Superspeedways. He has 7 wins and 9 top 5 in 10 starts. Nascar looks like they could have a couple of bright young drivers for the future.

Teresa Earhart was being a pill and wouldn't let Dale Jr. take the Number "8" with him when he went to Hendricks. The Hendricks camp reached out to Dale Jarrett who was running the "88" and asked if they could have the number. Dale Jarrett understood the family association with the number "88" and gladly gave Dale Jr. the number.

I'm happy for Harrison, I do hope and pray that he can stay in Nascar, and not go back to xfinity. Harrison deserves that chance t 5:33 o stay in Nascar. Would love to see JR team up with Justin in the Cup series. And even though JR ran the 88 I always think of him in the 8 car. That's his family number. 88 was just the number he had to take because of Teresa at the time. And 88 will be a cool # for SVG.
