Your videos are crisp, clear and absolutely crucial for anyone taking the IELTS. I took my exam 2 weeks ago and followed all your methods for the writing tasks. Paraphrasing the question, splitting the paragraphs, using linking words, conditional sentences, examples and even the rhetorical question. I'm happy to say I scored an 8 on my writing(8.5 overall), and this was while running out of time, typing frantically on a defective keyboard.

I was so tired during the exam and I just wrote a simple essay in task 2. Only followed your instructions; firstly I tried to understand the essay type, and then I made a simple plan and followed that plan. And I got 7.5.

For reading I applied the methot Jay has discovered. It is like you read a paragraph or if it is a long one you divide it into 2 parts, and as soon as you read that you check all the questions from the first group of questions to the last. Actually they are in an order according to the text. So if the first and second question doesn't contain any info about what you read, thw third and fourth question is not about that paragraph. Like this you read a paragraph or half of it and look at the questions and you don't have to turn back to what you already read. So you go like this till the end of the text. Listen to the videos of Jay regarding reading method and you will understand it better.
About writing I can say that firstly you have to analyze the 7 types of essay (according to Jay). Then you will have to follow some videos from beginning to the end to comprehend the structure you need to know about each type. Then you may draw a plan for each essay type. In the exam you firstly try to understand the type of essay and then quickly make a plan about its structure and follow that structure. I gave really soooo simple ideas because I was really tired and hadn't any great idea to write about. But as far as I understand they liked my structure so they gave me a 7.5 😃

Watch this video and there is another video about the conclusion paragraph. Watch it carefully and take notes while watching. It looks a little bit complex but if you focus on it you will realize it's too easy and will be really confident on the exam day. Please feel free to ask me more if there is anything unclear.

Hello, Jay. I scored 8.5 overall with 8.0 in writing, thanks to you! With work and family to attend to, I could only carve out a couple hours a day for the last two days before the test for practice. I watched this and a handful of your other videos (and went through the mock test too) and that was all I had the time for. I wasn't really worried about the other parts (reading, listening and speaking) because English is the official language where I am from so throughout school, it was English we learned with. But! The writing was a worry because I knew there was a 'how' to answering Tasks 1 and 2. Thank you for clearly outlining that 'how'. Thank you ever so much! Extremely appreciative, indeed!

Thanks a lot, Jay. I'm watching your videos in the day that the Covid-19 is getting more and more serious. This is my essay: Some people perceive that artificially intelligent robots will increasingly substitute the majority of human occupations. Although manual labor could be easy to be overtaken by droids, it is unconvincing to say that human intelligence and creativity can be replaced. This essay will discuss why only some particular jobs will be replaced by robots.
Robots may sooner or later take over simple labor that requires less complexity. Because it will not only help to lower the cost as hiring training and paying an employee but also reduce the risk of mistakes caused by humans. In addition, it’s uncomplicated to program a robot to fulfill tasks with a high ratio of repetition and time-consuming. In Japan and China, for example, many hotels have been using droids with human appearance as receptionists, which are able to work around the clock and cover almost questions as well as demands from guests. For these reasons, occupations that can be replaced by robotic intelligence will be no longer in the hand of human laborers.
Conversely, there are some jobs that robots are unable to do as adequate as human beings because it might be required artistry or mutual interaction to get things done. For instance, painter, teacher, psychologist and many more to name, are unable to be replaced by robots completely. Artificial Intelligent is capable of self-learning but currently, it’s impossible to say that they will be qualified to be out skill the human brain in the future.
It’s ever more believed that most of human employment will be put to an end by droids. Obviously, they can take over the role of blue-collar workers; nevertheless, human skills will be in the priority for sophisticated fields. In conclusion, despite that artificial intelligence is on the go, human role is still compulsory for a decent amount of occupations.

Well, first of all, congratulations on such a good score. I too followed the same pattern as he told and scored the same as you, but in writing, it is 6.5. I don't know what is still lacking. If you get 7 in writing then I hope his pattern is correct.
Abhiskek, congratulations for your score. Hopefully you will score 7 in writing soon. To be honest I focused on lexical resources, cohesive words, good vocabulary and complex sentence structure along with the pattern shown in Jay's videos. I can give you my word, I strictly followed his pattern, it works. Also, be precise in your introduction (it should be according to the type of essay given in your exam) and conclusion. Make sure not to use same word more than 2 times, use a synonym for it. These small things make huge differences.

I got my score today, its a 7.5 yayyyyyy and this was possible only because of you. I had only 1 week to prepare for the exam and in this one week I had to go to office work for 9 hours travel for an hour back home. So you can really imagine how much time I really had to study. With all this happening i was on verge of cancelling my exam but then your video suggestion popped up on UA-cam (guess i should thank UA-cam as well :p). For the next 6 days i only watched your videos and practiced along with you.

this lecture helped a lot, thanks for that, and also that new reading strategy (not the skimming one) taught by one of the female teacher of this channel is actually helping and moved my grades from hardly having 16 to solid 24-26, which is the criteria for 6.0 bands and I was having difficulty in crossing these minimum criteria, so thanks again for providing these approaches.

Amazing lesson, the best I've seen so far. I got very high marks on all IELTS areas except for writing. Honestly speaking, up until I watched your video, I had no clue whatsoever as to why I keep scoring low on writing because I actually like to write and don't find it difficult! Now I know. My essays lacked that clear structure, as well as good reasons and examples. I just went on talking about my opinion but not in this clear, organsised and logical structure. Thank you.
