met him in 1997 when i was only 8 & got a photo with him on holidays in great keppel island….i idolised rugby league players as a kid & tezza was playing origin/australia around the same time. he was then first sportsperson i met, i was starstruck. since than i met many sports superstars, but meeting terry is one that i always remembered, i still remember how nice & funny he was like it was only a year ago
We went to the same school Erskineville Primary for 6 years Terry was an outstanding athlete destined for greatness. All that he was in the field as an adult he was as a child at Erko schoolyard. You wanted to be on his team. Extremely competitive, but no one came close to him. Everyone knew he was born to become a professional sportsman. Even at little athletics, he was the best runner - long or short distance. As a person he loved to tease and have fun in a good sense and he was generous. I remember he would go to the Rose Hotel at Erko and ask his uncle for money to play video games and we played after school almost every day in that Greek fish and chip shop next door to the Rose. I'm sorry I never saw you since Terry, you were much loved by everyone and my family. RIP brother.
Condolences to his family and the wider rugby league community. Many Kiwis will know Terry as a staunch follower of Manly in the days and loved his competitiveness, aggression, no back-step given, and great skill as a player typified in his selection for origin and representing Australia. As a Queensland supporter who can forget his presence in Origin games, especially the nose-to-nose with Gordon "The Raging Bull" Tallis I'd say many would be of the position that Gordy got it, but with Terry you'd give him equal respect. Far too young but thank you for the opportunity to make a comment on your platform to pay respects to another league great, Terry Hill!
Used to let me and my brother fish off his jetty, always great fun and good to kids and friendly to people. Ive heard he had a few ups and downs, havent we all though. Had to cast his fishing rod for him their one day after he broke his arm on field, me and my brother fought over who got to do it. R.I.P. (BRIDGE)
Thankyou Joel, Missile, "This Dude Tez', he grew up in Newtown with a lisp, how U think he fought"!!!! Well he "this dude Tez' , he'll make ya laugh & cry all at the same time, like ya'll gonna' miss me"!!! He & Bob Fulton & Chris Close, Michael O'Connor, Jamie Lyon, the finest of the fine, sidestep, Zig Zig Ay' , now I'm back home, 'Go Nad's, go"!!!
Growing up a young Queenslander i loved to hate him. Did some more growing up and recognise that he was a great player. Talked to him one night at the Albion Park dogs about 4 or 5 years back. He didn't know me from a bar of soap and we spoke for about 15 minutes about footy and greyhounds. He certainly didn't have to. From my brief experience with him, he seemed like a really nice bloke.
Nicest guy. Met him at the gym when the Sheriff (Brian Hollis) bought him along and he would just chat - no airs or graces- treated everyone the same and had no ego about him. Just a great bloke off the field- but on there he was just a mongrel. The one guy even Ian Roberts steered clear of. Could hold them up. Chalk another one up for the jab.

Covid 19 jab , Moderna. Off course authorities want admit that.
