    Paul Walker didn’t just play a laid back SoCal car guy in The Fast And The Furious movies, he was a laid back SoCal car guy IRL. The role of Brian O’Conner fit him like a glove, so it’s no wonder it became the defining role of his career. But there was more to Paul Walker than fast cars, explosive action, and cheesy lines-a lot more. Join host James Pumphrey as he gets you Up To Speed on the late, great Paul Walker!

    I love how he actually lived the character out in reality. He was so happy about people calling him Brian in public. He felt like a super hero. That was like his role for the franchise and people associated him with it.

    Paul also came personally to Chile in 2010, to a small town called Pelluhue in wich he used to surf, after a devastating earthwake. He provided relief for the injured and affected locals. Man, I could feel the raw emotion from the narrator/vid creator on this, and also sympathize. Growing up, Paul was like a role model to me. I have my "favorites" when it comes to actors, but Paul was my ACTUAL favorite actor.
    I still remember the day my wife sent me a text saying "Did you hear? Paul walker from Fast and furious died. Isn't he your favorite actor or something?". I thought she was just playing with me, and joking around. I go pull up a search on Google to find out and confirm its all real. The moment I discovered my wife wasn't playing around, my heart sank and I literally started tearing up. I thought to myself "this can't be real. This isn't happening". I was in denial. Then I started telling myself "I'm never gonna see him again, in any movie. That's it.... it's done. He's gone."
    I just wanna make a point here, so people understand. I loved Paul walker as an actor so much, that I would even watch the garbage/unpopular no name movies, if he happened to be in it. That's all it took. Even if it was a crappy no name movie, I would watch it, JUST because he was in it. I liked and respect him THAT much as an actor and as a person. To his day, every time I see a new fast and furious movie with him not in it, I tell myself "he should have been in this"
    RIP Paul. You touched a lot of hearts, and had much love from your fans. 👍

    Paul was a huge inspiration to all of us. If it weren’t for the movies, honestly not sure if I would be into cars. I used to play The Fast and the Furious on repeat when I was 4. It was my favorite movie. I always looked at him as a brother and someone to look up to even though I never knew him. The day tragedy struck, I balled my eyes out for days. He was the reason I got into cars, big reason on why I love Nissan. He made a difference in the world. He will never be forgotten.

    I remember going to see Fast&Furious opening weekend at the mall in my hometown with my friends. We all piled into my 95 Civic 2 door that was already lowered on trick suspension with all the bolt ons and a sweet cat back exhaust. The parking garage was like a car show. The noise was unreal. Best part about Paul walker in that movie is he was so relatable to us. We dressed the same and loved the the same cars. Great time to be a 19yo with a sweet ride.

    It's strange that he didn't mention Joyride. That's my favorite Walker movie outside of TFATF series. I was 16 almost 17 when the Fast and the Furious came out, seen it at a theater in Allentown, PA. I seen alot of car movies at that point but this was on a whole new level and I learned how cool Paul Walker really was. He became my favorite actor. I made an attempt to see everyone of his movies that came out afterwards. I remember working on the shipping docks at my job and hearing about his fatal car accident and I actually cried for the first time in how many years, I almost left work early that day. People like him don't come around everyday. He was like the Clint Eastwood of the car community where he was calm, cool and very hard to dislike. I'm 38 now, I still love tuner (and American Muscle) cars and every now and then I'll spend an entire weekend watching the Fast and Furious movies with friends that I grew up with. R.I.P Paul, you are loved by many and never forgotten. 🤘

    I freaking love this episode and he is one of the major if not the main reason I'm into cars as I was growing up (2000 kid). One thing I didn't hear mentioned about the accident is that the Porsche that he was in had the original dealer tires from years before and weren't structurally sound anymore. As far as I know it was a recent delivery/purchase for the tuning shop and they where taking it for a quick ride around the business parking lot. Apparently as they accelerated as you would expect the rear end came loose and they missed the slight curve in the curb and kit a pole at the outside apex of the turn. From what I've heard, if the tires where replaced there was a genuinely decent chance he'd be here today.

    • @THEONLYNIKOMATH
      @THEONLYNIKOMATH 2 роки тому +7

      To add about tire life, I've personally seen tires that look completely fine on the outside completely delaminate and shred themselves in seconds. At a local auto x event a member had a set of old tires they wanted to try sliding around the course a bit with and we said no problem as he was a skilled driver and the course was away from anyone. He then lit up the tires and it rained down the entire tread within about 3 turns. We had to spend about 30 mins with every driver marshal and spectator to sweep and pick up chunks of rubber. Just because they look ok dosent mean they are.
