Okay, some issues here with the English meanings. 1) mejor is better. El mejor is best 2) Mayor = oldest. Could be major but rarely used. Oldest (between two people or items) is most frequent use 3) único= usually means ‘the only’. Does mean unique but most widely used to be the only as in the only one available. 4) moreno= in Mexico this is used to refer to dark skin 5) claro= does mean clear but also light eyed or light haired and “of course You would say “claro” or “claro que si” 6) menor= younger as with mayor. with siblings you would say “Quien es el mayor y quien el menor? 7) real= royal 8) civil=civil most common use 9)cierto= certain, Like certain means true in English but we don’t use certain for true. Same in Spanish in my experience 10) amplio= expansive, ample. Ex: tienes un vocabulario amplio. For “wide” you would most usually use ancho. 11) medico does mean medical but also frequently used for doctor, El Medico La Médica.
