Haha I know I shouldn't laugh at other people's misfortunes, but sometimes goofy mistakes in the kitchen are just so funny! At least it's been a learning experience. Whenever I make mistakes like that, I never forget the lesson I've learned (The cruchy "fudge" debacle).
no, the liquid mixture was cooled down (preferably chilled in fridge once cooled) and the inner bowl has to go into a freezer for between 16 & 24 hours before the mixture is put into it. The video doesn't explain this very clearly. The sorbet needs 25-30 mins stirring in the ice cream machine also to thicken.
Skip the blonde with her hair hanging into the food. You don't need the non-witty reparte but you do need to look AT the camera while you speak. The camera work is okay but there should have been more up close action. Music isn't bad especially where it was timed to the time lapse clock. Keep up the good work!
yes, that annoyed me also. Pull your hair back when presenting food segments! And wear clothes with sleeves and a modest neckline. Does not look very professional.
@@maryanne7161 First, these people hope to make money on UA-cam so a critique is not only fair but useful as well. Second, I wasn't particularly harsh. Third, my criticism was followed by words of encouragement and compliment. But thanks for bringing this up from the WayBack Machine. EIGHT YEARS! Wow.
@@trishfitzpatrick2066Dear Trish (1) I dont think the logic that "these people hope to make money from you tube and therefore a critique is not only fair but useful" applies here cos firstly, hardly anyone makes any substantial money from youtube. (2)"Your criticism wasnt too harsh" according to YOU. To an outsider/third party like me it did sound completely unnecessary and harsh. (3)The words of encouragement and compliments in the end actually sounded frivolous and hollow. Next time when u criticise someone, please do add the timestamp/minute mark as to where u saw the hair get into the food or where u saw the non witty repartee. As for bringing it from the "WAYBACK MACHINE", I honestly didn't see the year this video was posted or the year u commented, cos to me it doesnt matter at all. And looks like it doesn't matter to u either cos u did bother to reply!
did you freeze the inner bowl for the recommended time in the manual? (I'm not sure if it was mentioned in the video but the freezer bowl needs a minimum of 16-24 hours in the freezer before pouring in the liquid ingredients) ...
also, I made this last night and it needs at least 26-30 mins of stirring in the prechilled (16-24 hours) bowl. Worked out beautifully. At least an hour in the freezer (2 is better) after it's made. I added one whipped (to peaks) egg white 10 mins before it finished churning (acts as an emulsifier, if you aren't going to eat the whole thing within a day). Quite happy with this overall. I added more lemon zest and made a lemon balm/lemon myrtle tea as the water base, to add an extra dimension of lemon. If you haven't gotten rid of the ice cream machine, I'd give it another go.
You need to deep freeze the bowl in a very cold freezer at least -25 degrees C (-13 F) and leave it there covered with Saran Wrap for at least 2 days, 48 hours not 12-24 hours!!! Then you will get amazing results!!!
Thank you, I'll have to try this sorbet

I recon that I'm going to experiment and put raw meringue in my ice cream maker
Dude ... keep your head still! :)
Not well, i would recommend it.
1. All it did was deflate the meringue
2. raw meringue isn't edible
3. it was difficult to clean :/
f
too much sugar

Did we even watch the same video? I m surprised 9 people agree with u! I hope the makers r thick skinned and dont mind the unnecessary criticism!

@@maryanne7161 OK snowflake.
Tried this recipe in the exact same ice cream machine and ended up with a slushy mess.
This machine is garbage!
