He huffed, and he puffed, and he pulled the badge off!
NewsomCreative Website Design & Consulting That gave me a good laugh
Hahahahahahaha!!!!!
lol... hahahah.. oooh myyy gooosh ;-) the sound is real porn..
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Looooooool
This technique also appears to require an oxygen tent to recover from the exertion of removal! lol :)
Simple easy to follow diy, was struggling there for a moment but managed to do the job. We are so proud of you. 👍
Damn that guy got so tired removing that his breathing heavy lol
gervin rodriguez and one day you also will get old and tire easily ..
gervin rodriguez What else helpful and intelligent you can add to this lovely video?
Yoga. Definitely would benefit from doing yoga and learning proper breathing technique while focusing. Breathing is the most important thing your body can do. Never too old to learn right?
No bruh he just go out of a war in the marines
Maybe he’s over 5ft tall.
Nigel, I tired a number of different methods to remove the old Roundel on my 2004 330Ci convertible and yours was the one that finally worked. Thanks.
That's great to hear :-)
Did mine today with the card, also i needed to use a small screwdriver using the card as a protector, its been on there since 2001, thanks for the video.
I'm pleased it was useful
Did this today, card to get it started then those plastic door trim removal tools to go the rest of the way. Cloth used the whole time to protect the paint. Very easy, thank you.
Glad it worked for you
lol sounded like penguin man from batman when he had that fish snack XD
This was some journey!! We made it in the end, but I feel exhausted watching that!
Great and simple video, also thumbs up for the cat.
I think I will get the cat his own UA-cam channel as he gets a lot of comments
He slipped himself into the tiny opening
Breathing heavily, he squirmed back and forth
His breath quicken as he was getting close
One final grunt, and out came his prize
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Great video, thanks a lot. Just changed my boot logo too. TIP: I used my plastic bike tire lifters.
Absolutely brilliant, got the logo of my R1200GSA with ease, thank you!
Glad that you found it useful 😁
Thank you! The only way I was successful in getting these things off my car!
Worked for me. Thanks for the video
Or thread a plastic cable tie beneath the emblem from 6 o'clock to 12 o'clock positions. Take hold of both ends and gently pull. 20 second job.
clearly the best way to go, thread of plastic cable
This is the right idea. It still took me a couple minutes of working it, but I thank you.
I did this, came out dead easily. Thank you!
Nice vid! Quick questions, will this work on the bonnet of a BMW 320i 2005 ? And where can I purchase a replacement badge? Thanks!
The breathing had me dead.
Same hahahahahahahhahaa
Was he having sex or?
So glad that I checked out this video. ( I had assumed that you had to lever off some grommet or fixing washers from the 'blind' side, within. But there is NO way to gain access ! )
Mike Carter I’m glad the video was useful
A lens cloth works well here. Hairdryer makes a massive difference also. An alternative to using a credit card is some nylon wire (such as fishing line) can help break through the glue.
Good advice. A hairdryer wont be necessary in most cases as only a small number of badges use adhesive
Now have a cuppa and a lie down. Thanks for sharing.
😂 *WHY IS THIS GUY BREATHING SO HARD* 😂
Thanks for the video .. great tutorial
Great video thanks for uploading
Lee Ludlow art thank you
Brilliant, all these other knuckleheads on YT broke their badges off while removing them; Thank You!
nice video I'm replacing my BMW emblem on my hood.
Good vid
I felt the struggle with you
Stephen Ellis thank you
always wondered what that rac card is for.
thanks! This will help!
Thanks for video.
Great video. Thanks
Thank you :)
Thanks Nigel !!! :D
Pro tip: don’t use a screw driver as mentioned… you WILL scratch the paint.
thank you
Make life easier for yourselves... Use a hair dryer for a minute or two before doing this then use a second card to leave a gap on the other side or all you're doing is pushing the badge back on when you do the other side. Using a hair dryer to warm it is definitely key, have done this with badges for years.
Hi, does the 1 series coupe, rear boot have this badge type as well ?
I don't have a badge for the 1 series coupe in stock but it will use a very similar fixing method. Some badges have adhesive around the outside too which may need to be heated with a hair dryer to make it easier to remove
I love bmw car
A card did not work for me as my badge was stuck on tight, but what did was a mini paint scraper with a thin cloth underneath it
Thank you
Do you have to use an RAC card or will Green Flag do?
I suppose in this day and age, that would be a Green alternative
thaaaaaaanks.
He sounded like he was really struggling.he got it done though..😜
My BMW 1 series boot badge is coming loose , can I just glue it back on? As otherwise its still in perfect nick
If you glue it on then make sure you use a glue that can be prised off in case you need to replace the badge at some time
How do i change the color of ring that surrounds the emblem in i8? especially on the steering wheel?
I don't have enough knowledge of the i8 to answer your questions but I can't see any alternatives to the standard emblems on the BMW parts system. If it is like other BMW models, the steering wheel badge is not replaceable and in part of the air bag module.
Its okay, i appreciate your reply regardless.
Hi, the plastic clips which are in the boot of my car under the badge have pushed inside the boot when I tried to insert the new badge causing the new badge to be insecure. Can you suggest anything I could do to rectify this? Thanks
Marvin Dorfler do you mean the plastic posts have snapped off your badge and are stuck in the holes? If so, you can try easing them out with a screwdriver or drilling them out
@@nigelmarstonmotorsport77 sorry, I should have explained it better. It's the little plastic grommets which help secure the badge which have fallen inside the boot lid. I think I can order replacements from ebay and hopefully use them, if they fit that is......
@@Marvindorfler1 I have never seen that happen before. You can probably dig them out with a screwdriver
@@nigelmarstonmotorsport77 thanks for that, I'll give it a go
The badge on the back of her 2009 Z4 is also the trunk lever. I ordered a new badge and realized that it wasn't even the correct diameter. I wonder if anyone knows the part number for the badge that is also the truck lid opener and how to replace it.
Tell me the last 7 digits of your VIN and I will give you the correct part number
I just tried to do this and the prongs have just snapped off !! Any ideas how to remove them?
You will need to carefully drill them out
Ist realy easy to remothe the emblem, if you just dousn use a shitty thin plastic card thats bending
MagicCat at 4:36 doesn't give a shit!
DO NOT USE A HAMMER & CHISEL !!!
Learn from my mistakes...
Not a good idea!
Are they all the same. Does it matter what year and series it is. I have a 530i and want to put new emblem on the trunk.
?*
Most are the same or similar but it depends on the year, model and whether it is on the front or back
Thats so much harder than using a cable tie
I open my boot from the badge will it still work if I replace
Yes mate will still work just check with BMW to make sure. If you ring local dealer they will help to verify 👍🏻
@@Isaac1987 but Im pretty sure there's wires n stuff but thanks
Whats the mm of the trunk badge 82mm or 74mm?
It depends on which car its on and whether its front or back. Its not safe to use the diameter to identify the correct badge as some badges are a different shape or fitting. You need to use the last 7 digits of your VIN with the BMW ETK
Most bmws have 74mm on the rear and 82mm on the front!
I’m assuming this works for any brand car??? I have a Saab 9-7 and need to replace the rear badge!
JohnnyClock I have no idea whether it works for other cars. I am a BMW specialist and have never tried this on any car other than a BMW
Nigel Marston Motorsport okay mate!
On the back of a 9-5 it has adhesive, it is a bit of a pian to remove try the credit card method worked for me on my 9-3
What should I do if one pin cracked inside my hood? How to remove it!? I need to put the new emblem! Help please!!
Without seeing it, its hard to comment but if the grommet is still in position, maybe you can get a screwdriver under the edge of the grommet and lift it out and then hopefully the pin will come with it too? If not then maybe it has to be carefully drilled out.
same thing happened to me but it's barley sticking out so Its hard to grab with pliers to remove how did you do it?
It sounded like the car was moving at 20mph and the guy was running after it whilst trying to take the badge off.
That shows me that it is possible to get an BMW badge from an damaged old BMW and use it as a new batch for another old car with a damenged badge, isn´t it??
My badge has come in 2 parts, I have the metal but I also have the badge which is sticky
This happens quite often. The whole badge has to be replaced. The part that you think is metal is actually plastic
I don’t have an RAC card will an AA card do?
B Morris I don’t tho k an Alcoholics Anonymous card will work
Nigel Marston Motorsport thanks ahah. Mine popped off easily btw, thanks for the video
Has anyone tried to use dental floss for this job? I know it’s a popular method for getting off model name emblems, and such.
I have seen fishing line used which is similar but it cuts into your hands
And suddenly he realizes that the badge is placed upside down :D
Aslan Behar 🙃
Fuck, can you imagine starting all over again? Another 5 min of huff and puff. Call 911 before
But I need to admite that it is a good tutorial, even if I laughed with tears reading the comments 😂😂😂
What was wrong with the old badge???
It was corroded on the right hand side
wouldn't it be better to use some thin fishing line and do the same method?
That is another way of doing it, but it cuts into your hand if the badge is tight
I would have laughed, if he was replacing it upside down :D
I tried removing it but the pong broke while it was inside so now Idk what to do
You will need to drill out the broken part. It should be easy because it is only soft plastic
Had same problem this morn get a small hammer and small screwdriver and tap it through it falls out
Plastic paint scraper works much much better
Or you can spend $5 and buy a set of Trim Removal Tools.
No thanks. I love DIY stuffs.
Saw another video where a guy fed a cable tie from one side to the other and pulled to each side. Took 5 seconds
It read cuts into your hands if the badge is tight
Another marvel of German engineering. Why couldn’t they come up with a badge that is protected and part of the car instead of a cheap removable piece of plastic crap that can get stolen and/or damaged is beyond me
The yobs in my neighbourhood would have it off in 2 seconds.
iNtEnSe BrEaThInG
Y’all clowning dude for breathing 😭
Respect the man!
Fast forward to 3:36 all
I would hate to watch and listen to this man breathing on a 3 hr video on how to change break pads. I took me 2 minutes two do both of them😂this guy needs to start jogging before he has a heart attack changing a tire 😂😂😂
Wow, I just used a flat head screwdriver. No need to be gentle if you're replacing it.
Now take a nap.
what a lot of faffing around, cloth and a small pry-bar 10 seconds done
I broke nearly 5 credit cards but still I couldn't make it..
Sounds like it has been glued on or is the type that uses adhesive. Tell me the last 7 digits of your VIN number and whether its a front or rear badge and I can advise you further
Nigel Marston Motorsport only the owner of the car knows the number. How will I know...? 🤔
On many BMWs models, it is in a small window at the bottom left side of the windscreen/windshield. Which BMW do you have and which badge are you trying to replace?
Nigel Marston Motorsport chill out Bro... And sry for wasting your time... I was kidding you ( as if am stealing it) but you are so serious abt it. I would like to tell you that I was just making fun... No offense..
I've been in this business for 27 years and over that time I have heard some really strange stuff so I've learned not to assume anything :-)
hey use screwdriver
You can remove the logo using your nails....
hahahahaaha
I literally just put my fingers behind the boot badge and pulled it out. Not all this Nancy pancy card stuff
You are lucky because they are normally much too tight to do that
@@nigelmarstonmotorsport77 The bonnet badge is a different story, seen videos on sliding cable ties through and yanking them out, but it's too tight to even get one under.
A lot of HUFFING AND PUFFIN!!!
That breathing is so annoying hahaha
BMWs are an utter nightmare. They are over-engineered, expensive for what they are, build quality is rubbish and this is why I drive a Mercedes-Benz S63AMG Coupe, instead of an 850i Coupe.
Build quality on a Mercedes-Benz is in a different league, they are also well built, they do not over-engineer like BMW do, e.g. with BMW, really bright ideas to put batteries in the boot and such, haha, only BMW, and then make them so difficult to get out, again only BMW.
Other things that are major put offs, the badge replacement. I have had or I am trying to sort out a new badge for my old mans little 120i E87, a car he hardly drives to be honest. Always issues with it, battery always going dead, it is a pile of rubbish as are I think the majority of BMWs are, just total rubbish. Anyway, the badge he needs, well it appears you have different ones for the same car. Some are clip in, some are adhesive, some require the entire badge taken out and so on, haha, it is confusing, it is annoying, the car is crap, the brand is crap, so why are you not telling the truth please?.
Telling the truth about what? The video is about how to change a BMW badge
Amateur style!
Can you imagine some clumsy mechanic using a screw driver and he slips and lets you have your car back with a long scratch. Hopefully the bmw mechanic has the proper tool - otherwise it’s time for a boxing match or close quarter combat.
how big is the emblem on the 335 e93
Vj Fifa Which one? Front or back. You should always use the part number instead of the size of the badge because there can be different badges that are the same size
Nigel Marston Motorsport what is the part number? im planning to buy one it says 82mm on the front and 74mm in the back but im not sure
Vj Fifa which badge? Front or back?
