Give me Rocky clay soil anyway! It might take a couple tries to get a stake down in Maine's Rocky soil but after you get the pins down you can go get Lobstah rolls for lunch!
I leave 4 cam jams on the hook loops in the bed of my truck. Use them to tie down paddle boards and keep stuff from shifting around. Thanks for the great recommendation for the extra support arms when using the cabin. Added that to my to-do list.
OMG! That's too funny! It just takes a little practice. I've got the benefit of setting up rooms and awnings over and over again. But I still continue to refine the process. Just learned a new shortcut today!
Agree with everyone! Another great video. Would you leave the awning/awning room set up if you were leaving the campsite for the day? Or would you secure it as if expecting high winds? Thanks!
Thank you for watching and commenting. A lot of factors go into that like how protected is the campsite, weather forecast, and the area we are in. Always better safer than sorry.
Love the CamJam tip. I'll use it and probably add in reflective lines. I have a question about mounting the ARB awning. More on placement really. Right now I've got mine (6 footer) mounted To my roof rack at two points with an equal amount both forward and aft of those mounting points, about 20". I'm going to need to change that to probably 6" from the mount point forward and 34" from the mount point aft. This is so the trailer side opening of the ARB room will fit around the fender of the teardrop and fit flush to the side of the trailer. I know ARB suggests not more than about 24 inches out beyond the mount point. Do you think l might run into problems having too much overhang out from the mount point aft?
I don't think you will have an issue, especially being aft of the rear mount. We just did the ARB annex room mod on a 6.5ft ARB annex room. We had to slide it forward to get clear of the zipper on the front edge of the door. Then I sewed through the zipper in the fender area to lock it in place. Was the first one I had done on the 6½ ft awning but it turned out really nice.
Thank you for sharing. Your tips Save my awning today with the high winds at the beach.
Your very welcome. Glad it helped!
Just learning about the Cam Jams was reason enough to watch the video. Thanks!
They are pretty awesome. Hope you like them!
Cam Jams are awesome! I bought enough for all our holiday inflatables as well!
Nite Eyes is a neat company and has a lot of cool products. I have so many gear ties!
Love the procedure process! I am sure that clay is much nicer than the rocky soil up at camp in Maine!!
The gangster lean!! Hahaha

@@adventuresofthememorymakers All good, the hurricane gave us a wide berth and I had the least amount of tree debris in 35 years! Yeah!!
@@rebeccajourney3183 , that's good news!
Ordered my cam jams, thanks for the video ,I don't use my ARB since people think I've been drinking every time I try to set it up or take it down.

You mentioned a method you had for dealing with rain and not doing the gangster lean. Looking forward to hearing what you came up with.
Just fine tuning the setup and trying to make it as simple as I can so others can easily make it.
Any Luck.. eagerly anticipating lol
