I just watched your video where you made the skeleton girl. Love her. I like that you take time to create your art, most Halloween DIYs are quick. Your videos show how much you care about the final outcome. Keep it up!
I have not heard of using bleach to age a mirror but muriatic acid works well. It's pretty cheap - sold as concrete cleaner at hardware stores. Use gloves and breathing protection. Applied with a spray bottle or flicked off an old toothbrush, it gives that spotted age effect you often see on antique mirrors. Alternatively, you can get mirror finish spray (craft stores) and a plain piece of glass. Spray the glass with water and then spray on the mirror finish. Then finish with a coat of your backing color. I used it to mirror the back of my fish tank - it's cool stuff!
These DIY's are so neat! And I so agree with you about to "have to plan ahead" I'm not a youtube poster, but as a Crafter all we need to use is out now and if we don't get it now, then forget it! I always hear people out saying "Halloween/Christmas" is out already, but I know I am grateful . And I thank you. Oh and our D.T and WalMart are already having (Halloween/Thanksgiving and Christmas out) Happy crafting and can't wait for your next DIY video
The crow on the pumpkins is my favorite. I think you aged the wrong side of the mirror. Aging the side you scrape the paint off of should give the affect you were going for. It looked like you tried to age the shiny side.
It’s a type of Mod Podge that is high gloss and is supposed to be durable enough to go through a dishwasher. It’s sold online and in most craft stores. I used it because I knew it would be less cloudy than regular matte Mod Podge. There are all sorts of different Mod Podges but I’ve only experimented with a few kinds so far.
Love the pumpkin and crow! ❤ the mirror look worked well in the end for sure 👌
