#TheHungerGames
Experience the story of THE HUNGER GAMES - 64 years before Katniss Everdeen volunteered as tribute, and decades before Coriolanus Snow became the tyrannical President of Panem.
THE HUNGER GAMES: THE BALLAD OF SONGBIRDS & SNAKES follows a young Coriolanus (Tom Blyth) who is the last hope for his failing lineage, the once-proud Snow family that has fallen from grace in a post-war Capitol. With his livelihood threatened, Snow is reluctantly assigned to mentor Lucy Gray Baird (Rachel Zegler), a tribute from the impoverished District 12. But after Lucy Gray’s charm captivates the audience of Panem, Snow sees an opportunity to shift their fates. With everything he has worked for hanging in the balance, Snow unites with Lucy Gray to turn the odds in their favor. Battling his instincts for both good and evil, Snow sets out on a race against time to survive and reveal if he will ultimately become a songbird or a snake.
The 'You can't you can't' in the ending where Snow is screaming for Lucy is literal chills.
Facts
Yeah, a lot similar to Gaza, you can't hide.
I think he says "you can't run"
Isn't it just"Lucy Gray, Lucy Gray, Lucy Gray!" lol
For real!!!
I love how all of the characters are explained so well. Lucy Grey is portrayed with a siren-esque personality, and Snow is shown to be a bit power hungry, mostly influenced by the role models around him. The actors really nailed this one.
Siren-esque?
@@Lily-gh4lv Lots of people might argue with me on this, but when Lucy sings it strikes like an arrow- a perfect mix of beautiful and haunting. Like a siren, she drew Snow in by her natural charm and talent.
Idk. He had good influences like Tigris and Seajus too. Maybe Dr. Gaul manipulated him...
(Spoilers)
But she wasn't there with him in the lake house. She didn't make him betray and kill Lucy, that was all him. There's a reason Gaul chose him over the other students to mold, and it's because she knew he was already half way there.
just a teeeny weentsy bit power hungry
I covered Can’t Catch Me Now and I'd love if you checked it out :) thx!
Tom's performance as young snow is gonna be phenomenal i cant wait.
frr. i hope he wins an award for it bc he already looks amazing
That deranged look in his eyes when he’s screaming Lucy Gray - superb
I covered Can’t Catch Me Now and I'd love if you checked it out :) thx!
Young snow alongside snow white 😂😂
“tell me, is this real?” is so insane because it’s a reference to peeta and katniss comforting each other after the end of the games AAAAAA
She sounds so different with this new genre but it's definitely good
What genre would you call this exactly? I’ve been trying to figure it out!
@@outthereartist457 I’d assume indie alternative, it just kinda sounds like music from that genre. I feel like her voice just fits that genre anyways
YESSSSSSS
It’s pop????
@@noahkeolanui4478 it doesn’t
Can’t Catch Me Now sounds absolutely incredible!
it made this my favorite trailer so far!
I covered Can’t Catch Me Now and I'd love if you checked it out :) thx!
The best song used in Hunger Games in My opinion.
I read this book from like, 6th-7th grade and I’m so excited that the movie release is so close!! This looks amazing. Also, I’m loving Olivia Rodrigo in this song, I hope she does more cinematic songs like this because it scratches an itch I didn’t know I had. Her voice with this kind of music is just next-level, it feels so intense and dramatic and so, so beautiful.
I didn’t realize it was her at first! But I like the song’s vibe
@@alohaariannait sounds so different to her other music but I really like it
been reading and in love with the hunger games since grade 5, and loved olivia since grade 6, so this is like super close to heart
Same. I loved hunger games when I began reading in the 6th grader and found a love for a Olivia Rodrigo in 6th grade that I strongly developed through 7th especially the summer b4 8th@@greyiishness
I covered Can’t Catch Me Now and I'd love if you checked it out :) thx!
In the beginning, I kept saying, “Snow lands on top” but then I see Snow screaming “Lucy Gray” over and over in the end and I’m just filled with despair. Snow will always fall.
"Lucy gray...Lucy gray!!!!!" ......chills ...god damn
Haha I felt that too
Me too! The ending is gonna be epic
I KNOW
WHAT!?!?! MY FAVE ARTIST AND LITERALLY THE BEST BOOK SERIES TOGETHER?!?! also this book was just so good. i like how it doesn’t make you like snow at all it just provides a different pov, i thought i wasn’t going to like the book if it made me like snow but it didn’t.
same. same
Saaame! Olivia Rodrigo has such emotion filled songs it's so beautiful. When I saw this headline I was like no way
I covered Can’t Catch Me Now and I'd love if you checked it out :) thx!
Ah, yes. Just so happens that you LoOoOVvVvVeE them both.
Just admit you are a social media sheep who only follows the flavor of the month. 🤣🤡🤦♂️
i love the series, books, movies, and the singer. i can’t freaking wait for this movie to come out😭😭
RIGHT. im obsessed with the hunger games, the first movie had taylor, now olivia
Wonderful film. Rachel Zegler is a great Lucy Gray in her singing and Olivia’s Can’t Catch Me Now is the perfect ending song. Viola Davis is a great Dr. Gaul.
my parents havent let me watch it yet

this looks so good, snow acts exactly how i thought he would
Olivia sounds so epic in this type of genre😮❤🎉
Yes❤
Can you name this genre?
@@ntbored7727 oh sorry I think what I meant was concept
@@ntbored7727its alternative genre, maybe its indie-pop-indie, and kinda country too so its indie-country and kinda pop
I covered Can’t Catch Me Now and I'd love if you checked it out :) thx!
I came here for Olivia but damn, it really made me miss how I used to love the Hunger Games and religiously watched all the movies. I cant wait for this one!!
She sounds soo good with this song
This seriously needs more hype, the hunger games were so big in their hayday
The fact that this is probably going to be one of to be the greatest movie ever and have one of the greatest singers ever also featured in it makes it all the more exciting.
I hope Olivia sings this song on the Guts tour. I need to reread this book though, it’s been about a year or so since I read it.
ahahahaha
LOL

THE LYRICS???? IMMACULATE. PERFECT OMG. book vibes captured perfectly I'm sobbing
LORDE was epic for THG, and now they give us Olivia 💙✨
IM SCREAMING THAT LUCY GRAY SCREAM AND THE MOCKINGJAYS PICKING IT UP PERFECT PERFECT PERFECT
I love that Taylor Swift sang a song (two, actually) for the OG Hunger Game movies series and now they have Olivia for the new movie! I can't wait to watch it!!
I'm a very fan of TS but I only know Safe & Sound, what's the other one?
@@darkmiragem Eyes Open, it’s lesser known but still good!
I remember when Christina Aguilera sang a song for Catching Fire.
@@ECKohnswe remain
Can’t Catch Me Now is going to feel like a progression from Taylor’s safe and sound and eyes open. 10 years ago too we are now hearing Olivia’s voice in these movies and I think it’s so cool how hearing this I hear Taylor swift jus in a very Gen Z encoded way with her angsty rage fullness that’s embedded within her unique style of songwriting. I just love the vibes of it all the hunger games was made for me
THISS! it's exactly what i thought too! Especially with how both Taylor and Olivia has a similar artistic style of lyric writing
i think it's so fitting that they both have a song in the hunger games too
I covered Can’t Catch Me Now and I'd love if you checked it out :) thx!
Lucy Gray is very Gen Z. She is a rebel and she is gonna do whatever it takes to reach her goal
omg a song by Olivia Rodrigo ?!?! now im even more excited to watch this !!!!
i'm not usually a big fan of songs made for movies, but this sounds SO. SLAY. i think i've listened to it about twenty thousand times since she released it on Spotify. i absolutely love how the song is an epic backtrack for the action, but actually takes place after the book, because let's face it, there's no way Snow didn't get back to the Capitol and see Lucy Gray EVERYWHERE
Olivia is the moment ❤
The bad moment.
@@Trust_No_001 Come on! Have a life 🤭 When insecurities hit u! If you are Taylor Swift troll 🧌 God bless u man👍
@@jaycanamo6340 Taylor is an icon. Olivia is pretty cringe.
@@Trust_No_001 If you are that sure, why coming to her😅😅. Are you that threatened for her😂😂
@@Trust_No_001 Honestly, let’s just say Taylor has become an icon despite having no skills in singing! But Olivia is a good lyricist and a great singer !!! Something that Taylor can’t achieve 😂😜😜😜
This movie is really one of my highlights this year. Watching the trailer feels so nostalgic but it also feels like something completely new/different. And the Song?? Omg fits the vibe perfectly ✨can’t wait to see it in the cinemas 🤍
Great film. Rachel Zegler is a wonderful Lucy Gray and it’s great to hear her sing. Olivia’s Can’t Catch Me Now is the perfect ending song.
OMGGG THE SONG
Olivia Rodrigo and the Hunger Games?? BROOO I’m dead
Amazing vocal cords on point great lots of Growth for Olivia Rodrigo very good 👍 I’m impressed
OMG Olivia on this? After Taylor on the first films????
Hunger Games series REALLY fulfilling the wildest dreams of the music fans❤❤❤
Not me crying every time I hear this song!! 😭Olivia crushed it. I've been putting off the book for the longest time because Hunger Games takes so much emotional bandwidth to consume and enjoy, but THIS song and this trailer make me want to pick it up before the 17th. Can't wait to see this movie!!!❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥
Definitely do!!!!! The book is amazing!!
Another bot comment 😂
I did end up reading it, and I'm so glad to say that I loved it! ❤ @@siennaskye_journey It was hard to read because they treated the kids from the Districts horribly, but the story was worth a little discomfort. It's safe to say Snow is and has always been the worst...
@@zoemoniquewells1434Such a wonderful adaptation, the film. Rachel Zegler is an amazing singer and does a great job as Lucy Gray.

Lorde and Ariana too
@@eyesthereariana didn't do hg
@@eyesthere i never knew Ariana did Hg, I only know lorde did tho but only listen to her from time to time lol
And don't forget that Coldplay did Hunger Games too.
@@SonnetttTrue. But the truth is, Ariana Grande and Major Lazer did the song called "All My Love" from the soundtrack of Mockingjay Part 1.
"You either die early as a hero or live long enough to become the villain itself.. "
"You either die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself become the villian". Never realized how well that quote suits snow. He starts out a relatively decent guy, if somewhat proud. Saves Lucy Gray multiple times and Sejanus as well. But his environment and circumstances overtime really twisted him into a villian.
@@ms.ravenclaw3038I don’t quite agree with this analysis but do get some of it. He definitely wasn’t as twisted and dark at the start of the book but a lot of his actions either come from selfishness and obligation, not nobility or selflessness. *SPOILERS* Sejanus for example… the only reason he went into that arena to save him was because he knew Dr Gaul gave him no choice. After he saved Sejanus and Sejanus called him “Coryo” he thought about how much he wanted to wrap his hands around his throat. Lucy Gray too, a lot of his effort and eagerness to make her look good and help her win was due to the fact if he didn’t win the prize, everyone would know he was broke, and he wouldn’t have a pathway to power.
But yes I do think there were instances of him having some goodness there. But I wouldn’t say he was a decent guy from the start. He was incredibly narcissistic and manipulative.
The way Coriolanus Snow jumped right at the same time when the beat was- so clean
Everyone loves Olivia Rodrigo ! She can do everything.....🥰
Olivia rodrigo 🎉❤
Olivia Rodrigo!!! ❤ Love the Song!!
Update : watched this so many times just because of the song. Can’t wait for the full song release Nov.3??

This OST for Hunger Games TBOSAS is phenomenal. Olivia truly never disappoints.
are you kidding me??? THIS IS FREAKING AMAZING!!!!
When Treech's axe hits the ground right on point
Yes
The drums, the assault rifle on full auto, Snow screaming, sure makes a wonderful trailer with Olivia Rodrigo’s singing blending together.
this movie is going to be amazing. the ballad of songbirds and snakes is one of my fav books with my fav plot twist. i cant wait. and the fact it has olivia rodrigo in it makes it so much better
No its not, it tipped to be a flop 😅
Wonderful film. Zegler sings beautifully and the Can’t Catch Me Now song is the perfect credits song to listen to.

Such a wonderful song. I had it on repeat for most of Friday. I can't wait for the film and when Olivia sings this on her Guts tour.

This got me so giddy!!! I can't wait!!!!
We are so back
Feels like a Aurora song...🙆🏽♀️🇭🇹
AHH OLIVIA WITH THIS MOVIE!!!
This is Olivia’s best song
Reminded me of safe and sound and eyes open by Taylor Swift, and Olivia Rodrigo is becoming the new Taylor Swift(not that she’s replacing her cause Taylor>Olivia) but I thought it was interesting how she did a song for the prequel movie. It sounds really good I like it a lot
i get that olivia rodrigo really likes taylor swift. but i feel like saying she is 'becoming the new taylor swift' is not very... appropriate. olivia is her own person. let's just not compare two artists, okay? but yeah i agree it is really cool how she's doing a song for the prequel lol.
Stop comparing to Taylor Swift and Olivia Rodrigo. Olivia is not the only artist that sings and songwrites. They’re both successful people and have the same audience so explains the comparison. Taylor swift is getting older so I won’t be surprised if another artists becomes on top of her. The same goes when Olivia gets older. Music artists comes and goes but of course, Taylor swift is a sensation. Olivia’s music is more punk/pop rock compared to Taylor Swift. Y’all just don’t understand how music is.
Taylor is the queen & one of her princess is Olivia, hope they collabed someday like the Whitney- Mariah collaboration in the 90's
@@ceceria860 yeah I just meant it’s cool how they have the same audience and slightly similar music styles and Olivia has a song in the prequel movie just like Taylor Swift wrote songs for the hunger games original movies
Poor Lucy Gray... she deserved so much more
this gave me literal chills. ❤
olivia??? hunger games??? i'll gladly take it!
So the actors were given permission to promote the movie with the sag strike going on, if this does successful financially it kinda proves why a lot of movies Lately haven’t been breaking big numbers outside of Oppenheimer

A beautiful song 💕 I love Hunger Games
"Why are the people you can't trust are always saying trust me"
Whoever made this teaser is a genius
Yup. The audio parts they added to Olivia’s song sound awesome together in the trailer.
Man, they really do like to show the ending don't they 😂
The scene where Snow is all “Lucy Gray, Lucy Gray” and shooting at the mockingjays matches the “You can’t, you can’t, you can’t” Olivia part. Such a great blend in this trailer.
I remember reading the book in fifth grade the day it came out and picturing myself as Lucy.. idk whether to be happy or sad about how this ended up. But they better not ruin it cause I’ve been waiting for years
Olivia absolutely killed this song! I was so happy to see her singing this, her voice is angelic 😍
