I'm certainly never going to judge anyone who is in such a dark place that they feel suicide is the only way out, but I do wish people wouldn't take others with them.

Its the nature of the depression. To commit suicide a person has to completely Not Care about the effect they cause, is because of their affect.

They didn't find the children though so I really hope that she sent them somewhere instead of taking them with her.
But some can be in such deep depression that they genuinely think that it's better for the children to die too, that they wouldn't be safe and be unhappy. They think that they do what is best for the children, in their mibd they do it out of love

There is a website called historic aerials that I use to find spots to metal detect but you can go back to old aerial maps to see what the place use to look like and I believe that would help y’all out on some of these cases. If maybe there use to be a boat ramp somewhere that is now gone or if anything has changed

Maybe not sick but desperate. You do not know if someone was threatening to harm her AND her children and in what way. There are some things worse than death. If you know someone who seems stressed all of the time, cries a lot or red around the eyes as if they have been, even if they deny it. AT LEAST give them phone numbers to child protective services, adult services, places that assist with rent. Food banks. ALL OF THE ABOVE it is a shot in the dark and if you do not know what the person needs get a list together. CALL police. Ask them if someone HAS been threatened who is someone they can turn to for confidential help if they are AFRAID to turn to local police departments and give them THAT phone number, maybe a women's shelter. NOT talking about anyone specific. Trafficking is no joke and drug dealers will take children over a debt. So to say a mother who commits suicide WITH their kids if that is the threat, "I will sell your kids into that life style" whether a dealer or a boyfriend or just someone powerful, are you SURE you blame that woman now? I was trafficked, I am 65 and I still live with it everyday. I am glad to be alive, glad I have adult children who are in my life and desperately sad for my children that died, others I saw die and the chronic pain. God is good always.

Might have been just jealousy on her part, or if the ‘marital problems’ included abuse at the hands of her husband, she may have honestly thought she was saving them from further suffering, since he would have legal custody with her dead, even if she tried to leave them with someone else for a time.

It's all about punishing the man that didn't want HER anymore. Unfortunately for children, today's woman has been conditioned to believe that they're the only parent, and that children shouldn't survive without them. This is pushed by the court system that views fathers as nothing more than money machines. In a society that whines for "equity" at every opportunity, that sure doesn't seem to apply to child custody.

Less "reach out to someone" and more being a person someone can reach to. It is REAL easy to tell someone depressed/suicidal to "just reach out" - what you don't realize is we already feel like a burden. We may have had encounters in our past that showed us reaching out was a mistake, either because we were disparged or someone minimalized our experience. We usually have a pretty steady stream of thoughts going through our mind of how we'll just make someone upset, they won't understand, we won't be understood, basically a long list of possibilities and reasons to not reach out. We don't always have the strength to get around it. Be the one who reaches out, not the one who tells us to do something we quite possibly can't.

If they aren't funded to have the training and the equipment, they use far more energy for a case like this that can be used for others sitting at their desks. AWP can pick and choose, and have the time and money, and experience to search. The police are forced to choose priority at their work and sadly, it leads to this. Judging them isn't going to help anyone, it only causes rifts between police and these amazing teams. This is a real glaring problem.

Look at the Gabby Petito case. Those 2 lives could of been saved. But for this mom it was the only solution to whatever was troubling her. Once one decides to do this .one is in such dark place and one has tunnel vision.can't think rationally at all.

Why would a woman/mother with such young children have been sitting on a boat ramp at night??? That *is* suspicious (imo)… what would be a valid reason as to why you were parked there?? Sadly, there’s nothing an officer could do being it was public property….. just heartbreaking 💔

Does anyone know how long it takes for a car to submerge? I can’t imagine it’s a quick suicide…the fear and, possibly, regret in those final moments is heartbreaking.

I think many factors would make a difference. Make of car, depth of water, speed, weather...though most likely I would imagine a minute or two at best.

Hello, I live in Florida and just saw a year and a half old missing persons case in Volusia county Florida for a man named Robert Heikka. The news said he lives near water and his car went missing too. I remember you saying if a person and their car both go missing that most likely they went into water. I don’t know the family but I always follow missing persons and cold cases. Anyway, I wanted to pass that info on to you. Thank you for the work you do. ❤️❤️

Love your new intro. Very professional. Looks like the beginning of a movie. So sorry about the loss of these innocent lives, especially the innocent little babies who had no choice. Such a pity. Rest in peace babies and mom.

If it's true that the suicide note described the actual location where she was planning on doing the deed then this is a testimony of the disgusting incompetence of the police to properly and thoroughly search the waters of that boat ramp.

This technology wasnt around in 2002 nor do most departments have a specialized unit that only does water scanning.

Randall Smerna I 💯 percent agree with you about that police department along with the search rescue team, and all the other different Departments that was involved in this extremely sad case. I was wondering were you heard about the suicide note. I try not to judge any Law informant team but you actually see what happened it's so terrible sad that they didn't their job right. My son is a paramedic and volunteer firefighter. I'm extremely proud of him. I have a lot family members in law enforcement and I've seen some really bad law enforcement and saddest thing.

Randall... don’t be hateful... you know nothing about the funding, technology, capabilities or possible training opportunities of the local law enforcement. You don’t know they were incompetent...options were very different and limited twenty years ago compared to what’s available today.

We sadly had an event like this in my village when I was a child. They didn't go into the river, they set a fire instead. But it was also a parental murder suicide. The remaining parent was a wreck, especially with the accusations that came along. But the evidence was super clear, he was just a father who lost everything all at once. He was at work and came home to his entire world shattered. It is so tragic.

The fact that we get to watch content like this on UA-cam for free is insane. This is why it's good to support independent producers, because heart and soul still goes into it, but they're not lifeless corporations that only care about money.
