Good music does not make a good game. Sonic has and will always have terrific music. NGL I resonate with this comment more and more as the years go on. At this point, the only Sonic games I have genuinely liked were Colors and Unleashed though that may be admittedly from nostalgia. Then again, I've grown up now so playing childish games isn't exactly on the top of my priority anymore.

SA1 and SA2 were good. I'll say that much. However I never cared for the 2D games. The backtracking in stages like Chemical Plant and Labyrinth Zone felt like it was punishing me for going fast. If you ask me, Sonic is best in a 3D environment where you can explore but also play a clear point A to point B level. They only really perfected that twice tho.
