amazed werewolf - blind female singer scene - the wolfman 2010

- Movie: The wolfman (2010)
Song: “Poor Wandering One” from Gilbert and Sullivan’s “Pirates of Penzance”
Genres: Suspense, Horror, Thriller, Drama, Fantasy, Mystery & Suspense, Action
We get some Deleted and Extended Scenes, and this is where the fabled Ballroom Sequence can finally be found. Culled from an earlier version of the Wolfman's London rampage, this lengthy sequence commences from the point when our Larry leaps onto a stone gargoyle and howls at the moon. This take then has him spying a masked ball taking place in what could be the Crystal Palace, and subsequently gatecrashing it. Striding through the party-goers and looking incredibly tall compared to them - he is mesmerised by the blind soprano singer on the stage. Not seeing anyone here as actually being prey, it is only when someone is foolish enough to put a hand on his arm and make reference to his costume that things turn nasty.
Though absent from his ancestral home of Blackmoor for many years, aristocrat Lawrence Talbot (Benicio Del Toro) returns to find his missing brother at the request of the latter's fiancee, Gwen (Emily Blunt). He learns that a creature has links to an ancient curse turning people into werewolves when the moon is full. To save the village and protect Gwen, he must slay the bloodthirsty beast, but he contends with a horrifying family legacy.

Telling people how to change the vid quality ROFL
Imagine, if you had, were dragons like werewolves with scale-like hair and wings like a dragon and them breathe fire and spit and sweat acid and regeneration faster and look like human werewolf dragon hybrid.
This film has good actors and made the movie as a werewolf film just like Lon Chaney Jr.'s original film . He would be proud. At least it's not a Tom Cruise movie, since he ruined the mummy film.
Shame they deleted it’s actually a beautiful scene because Lawrence has a deep love for theatre as he’s an actor. A shred of his humanity breaks through the savage beast and admires the opera singer with an almost innocent demeanor yet at the same time it’s animalistic since wolves are curious creatures. His calm demeanor is broken when the man touches him and the beast takes over again yet he spares the singer because of his love for the art. The story and writing of this movie is honestly fantastic and it’s a shame they didn’t keep it in.
It’s likely that it got cut due too time but at least it was fully produced before it was scrapped
❤❤❤❤❤❤
This deleted scene is on the DVD release......as a deleted scene, lol. I think the werewolf was wondering why the girl didn't run away in hysterics like everybody else did, who clapped eyes on its hideous form. Good job she was blind.....thankfully, she lived to sing another day
We needed a sequel w/Hugo Weaving
His deep love of the theatre caused him to look down on the Punch and Judy performer, and so he mauled him
Screw the critics. This is one of the "GREATEST WEREWOLF FILMS EVER MADE"!

I love this movie too!
Yes it was
This movie is the one that brought my attention to Benicio del Toro.
It’s interesting to see the wolf not attack anyone in the ballroom until the guy touches him.
Striding through the party-goers and looking incredibly tall compared to them - he is mesmerised by the blind soprano singer on the stage. Not seeing anyone here as actually being prey, it is only when someone is foolish enough to put a hand on his arm and make reference to his costume that things turn nasty.
BEAST NYC and even then He is still mesmerized by the the singer who reaches out to him and he doesn’t kill her. She probably reminded him of Gwen. It’s pretty interesting to see a glimmer of the human side of the wolf.
@@redhood2394 or maybe his mother never know
Red Hood 23 that just makes me angry they cut this from the film
J Double C stuff like this happens all the time. Pacing a movie can be very difficult and sometimes even the good stuff needs to go
I loved how the scene in the ballroom really showed how much taller the wolfman was compared to everybody else. Made him look a lot more imposing.
Benicio Del Toro Height 6 feet 2 inches (1.88 m)
@@potatosalad5355 And the platforms on his feet must add about six or eight inches.
Werewolves are naturally massive animals, generally said to be about 7 to 8 feet tall when standing upright. So that was a nice little detail in this deleted scene. We never actually get to see the wolfman's true in the theatrical version as a lot of the scenes he appears in next to humans are either in darkness or in very close camera shots, or he's running on all fours. It's a shame this scene was deleted cause it's the only one where we get to clearly see how big this creature really compared to humans.
I liked that too, along with the subtle sound of his steps. The sound gives off the impression that he must weigh a ton, which is interesting to note that the transformation also adds a significant amount of mass to his body
I like how this werewolf actually behaves like a real wolf; it may be vicious but it’s curious just like a real wolf. When it hears the woman singing, it doesn’t attack anyone because it’s curious about her. It also doesn’t show any hostility toward her until she tries touching it, where it recoils defensively.
WEREWOLF IN BRAZIL ua-cam.com/video/AzZZ7P2Rlpg/v-deo.html
go on..
real wolves are pretty shy and would be running around in a panic in large crowds. Rabid wolves however will get insane like this. Rabies is scary as hell.
I agree with you on that buddy
The Wolfman only attacked one person in this scene because HE touched him, not because the blind woman
I love how she reached out to feel him and at first he was a bit hesitant to let her touch him, but was about to get comfortable as she tried again. Until he was shot and ran away. Really beautiful and interesting scene, I wish it wasn't cut out. Also him spooking the crowd during the puppet show was hilarious haha
At least he isn’t an alien ruining kids birthday parties like with Signs
Hey kids you want to see a dead body?
WOLFSMAN IN BRAZIL ua-cam.com/video/AzZZ7P2Rlpg/v-deo.html
So didn't really feel him... She has her gloves on ...... And he doesnt roar at her or in front of her face until he gets shot at. And she screams before he roars... In my opinion she's screaming bc she thinks she's being the one shot at .. Idk ..could be just me .

Word.
I like to think that he didn’t attack anyone because he was in a trance like state of the girl singing, reminding him of the human inside of him because Lawrence used to be on the stage, but when he is distracted by the guy the beast takes control again
Also, I think he could sense her blindness and didn't feel threatened.
This werewolf seems to like women. At least, way more than men
Bit of a beauty and the beast for a moment with the werewolf and the blind singer. The trick with any beast, is to know how to calm him. In this case, music :-)
Music soothes the savage beast. Benicio was hot as Lawrence/Wolfman.

@@kingyvee8115 I know, right? Twas music nd beauty that led the to bay... for a minute lol
The other great thing about this scene is how it clearly shows the hulking size of Lawrence in monster form. Walking in past all those people, you can see how gigantic he is.
and you can imagine the impact the wolfman had when he blindsides his victims. size and speed
This movie doesn't deserve the hate it gets. All the acting is great especially Emily Blunt as Gwen. She nailed her performance in this movie. I also like the makeup design of the werewolf. The make up artist earned that Oscar nomination.
I also like how this scene showed that there is still some humanity in Lawrence. Maybe they could've done a scene where he heard Gwen singing by the lake. Then when this scene comes, when he hears the singer, that's why he doesn't kill her because he is reminded of Gwen.
Movie name pls
@@andril0019 It's called The Wolfman.
Why would someone hate this? What's the reason?
@@btsxtsuki it’s likely due to Hollywoods constant need for reboots and how reboots don’t usually end up as good as there predecessors people very likely didn’t give this movie a chance because they thought it was just another reboot that that just tells the same story in a different way that they wouldn’t like, but at least this movie is now getting the praise it deserves.
This is where the dark universe should have started

@@kevinskywalker5539 "because her beauty reminded him of Gwen" interesting, is it official info?
@@BEASTNYC, I did some research, and was half right. He didn't kill her, cause she reminded him of Gwen. Also, cause her singing was calming him, "the usual music calms the beast trope". And, you can find this info in the Wolfman novelization.

For anyone interested or not aware, the Blind Opera Singer is portrayed by Dianne Pilkington - a West End Musical Theatre Legend 😊
1:05 she's exceptionally beautiful, face and voice. No wonder she moved the human side in him
What were they thinking, these scenes they should've left in movie...
And l'm realizing thst woman that was singing was blind...
I recall reading... they need to cut it because they got no time for it within movie, and they thought the scene is useless overall, and they wanted to show him as the wild beast
I liked the party scene, but the scene with the kids should be kept left out I thought it was a little too goofy
@@BEASTNYC I completely agree
those are great scenes... but they kind of feel weird on the plot. I mean, at that moment he was completely angry and behaving just feral, passing by so easily through the costume people, didn't look natural at that situation.

It really is underrated. Wish it has a lot more killing in it, and seeing the Werewolf just go full beast, but when you do, it is very good.
He didn't attack the blind singer at all....her music intrigued him and she didn't smell of fear like the rest of the crowd....he didn't attack anyone until his arm was grabbed from behind.
Even though he was a werewolf he still shows kindness
When did he showed that? He just liked her singing if she wasn't singing she would be dead

Whywolf?
I think he knew that she was blind and decided not to attack her 🧐🧐, or at least sensed it
@Ares Oblivion He doesn’t attack women. He didn’t kill one single woman the whole movie
I like how this werewolf still shows man curiosity as he is drawn to her voice and she touches him and he doesn't attack her he just lets her get closer till he gets shot
So a bloody werewolf strides into a large ballroom to where the beautiful singing is coming from, and he passes people like it's so casual? Wow, that is a first and definitely a change compared to other werewolf movies.
I like that the Wolfman does not attack until someone puts a hand on him and he reacts in defence, thinking it's a threat, then again werewolves have a insatiable thirst for human blood and flesh like vampires, but he would have attacked everyone including the singer if that was all he was there for.
Why delete these scenes! They are bloody marvelous! I love the scene with the lady singer and how he reacts to her.
Not gonna lie; that scene was beautifully well shot for the beauty and the beast motif. Should've stayed in the final cut. Such great macabre emotion established.

I like how he just walks in so casually just for a little bit of comedy
I never noticed how freaking tall the Wolfman was in this movie. I honestly love this movie and I also think this scene would have added a lot to the movie showing a different side to the actual beast side of Lawrence.
If he didn't try to kill Gwen at the end, this scene would make perfect scene...

Such an underrated film imo. I really do enjoy it beginning to end. The cast is A1
I patiently waited for this film, even with the delayed release dates and bad reviews, and it didn’t disappoint. It’s very well done on all levels. I’ve always loved the Werewolf as a kid, and was happy to see Universal bring back a classic monster movie. Thanks for posting this deleted scene.

This movie is amazing in every possible way ... everyone has done an incredible job. Chapeau!
Love the Punch and Judy location mimicking the same location in "Bluebeard" 1944.
I can't believe this is the first time in over a decade I got to see more of my favorite horror film. I never saw this before, this is gold. Honestly, I wish they would make a new dark universe and use this as canon.
Totally agree with you. I thought Universal had plans for more classics. They could’ve done better with Last Voyage of the Demeter 🙄 Oh well, at least we have this excellent horror film.
The wolfman is probably used to people running from him and when he went up to the blind woman and she didn't react at all he probably thought, "What the hell is this all about? Don't you know I'm gonna rip you apart?"

Her voice is so entrancing even to a blood lusted beast
I've seen a lot of things in a movie, plus a werewolf walking around without attacking anyone at the entrance to a party is something you don't see every day
Dang that would of been awesome if it had been left in
I agree
It is said that a werewolf will attack anyone who is a threat to it, so that may be why he didn’t attack the blind girl, it’s also explains why it didn’t attack the girl at the end of the movie until she picked up the gun.
The wolfman looking at the blind singer and he was with her through this scene shows even though he's a beast there still a shred of humanity a nice detail is with any animal you don't touch them because if you do well we see what happens I also like the part were the wolfman is drinking he hears a horse neighing he looks around to make nothing around animals do that in reality if they hear the slightest noise they look around to make sure nothing is coming at them
He’s about 7-8 feet tall. Monstrous. This movie is right up there with An American Werewolf in London. Well done.
Fascinating in a way, it proves the werewolf is a powerful force of nature but it's not mindless.

Welcome to Beast NYC Pack
Well music soothes the savage beast and a werewolf is as savage as they come
Music soothes the savage beast.
I find it frustrating that they had to search for a location, put all the decoration, get the disguises for the extras, a singer, lightning and equipment, get everything set for this scene, film it (which would have taken several tries) and get editors and sound engineers to put it together... only for the director or the producers to decide to leave it out. I know it's something common and all of them got paid anyway, but it's a lot of work, time and effort that didn't make it into the final product.
some people where probably "i will be on tv - YES - my famous moment" - and they cut these scene and people within it...
This movie gets dumped on and it’s a crime. I personally think it’s great.

This was the second best werewolf after of the Van Helsing werewolves... 🙌👍🙌
A mi me encantaría un crosover entre este mismo diseño de Hombre Lobo con los Werewolf de Van Helsing, sería epico
Here's something I just thought of that would have made this priceless. When the puppet show is going on the puppeteer has all the kids do a sing-along, they all sing the classic, "Who's afraid of the big bad wolf, the big bad wolf, the big bad wolf?"
As they do that's when the puppeteer is attacked and wolfman shows himself as everyone runs in terror.
Now that’s what I call beauty and the beast 🧐👍
This is a great movie! Those critics have no idea what they're saying! Rick Baker did amazing for the makeup in this movie. Like he did in the American Werewolf in London!
Such a phenomenal scene
Imagine being blind and you her all sorts of screaming and terror during this time period
she was terrified more than anyone else...
And because it wasn't an MCU CGi fest, but practical, it looks really good as is.
Beside some tweaks here and there, you could edit this clip raw into the movie and it would fit just as good.
This deleted scene characterizes Lawrence's Lycan in a major way, he picked up on her voice from outside the building, and even after being touched, & killing someone, and even when flinching when she touched him, he didn't harm her-
Point being, if that was his pops? I sincerely believe he would've bodied her just for the hell of it.
That inhumane savagery is something he indulges in, Lawrence is just subject to it, MAINLY when threatened.
This scene makes that difference clear, otherwise there's no reason how she survived this beside Lawrence still having a grip on himself even when turned. Possibly saw his mother in that woman too.
The beast has it's moments when in frenzy but even with that fact in mind, Lawrence is a much a gentler soul. Much like his 40s iteration.
So underrated. Could of been a classic

I recently read the novelization of the film and this scene was in it, though I never remembered seeing it in the movie. Glad I could see it for real.
This movie was awesome deserves second part
It's a shame this scene was deleted because it's the only one in the movie that accurately shows how big a werewolf would be compared to average sized humans. Werewolves are said to be on average at least 7 to 8 feet tall when standing upright, as Lawrence is in this scene, with some extreme estimates going as far as 9 to 10 feet. In this scene I would estimate the wolfman to be at least 7 to 7 and half feet tall, which is accurate in terms of the portrayal of the massive size of werewolves.
I thought he was around 7ft, the undertaker tall. Maybe you are right.
Music is a universal language that can touch any living creature soul, even a beast
Justified.... you can't walk up to a complete stranger and touch them like that.
