The Knicks ended up trading the 24th pick for the 26th and 50th pick in this year's draft. They then traded the 26th to OKC for 5 future second rounders.
These guys do not know how the cap and draft picks work. Leon Rose and his staff have done a remarkable job in using the picks to get Bridges and to move back to get six extra picks plus stash this year’s pick to save money to sign and fill the rest of the roster. Rose had stated previously he was accumulating picks for a big deal. He overpaid for Bridges but people forget three things. Bridges has never missed a game in the NBA. In fact, the first with the Nets he played 83 games! Second, he was all first defensive team three years ago at Phoenix. Lastly, he is a perfect third scoring option, and can get his own shot.
@dandandkl9048 Right, the Knicks are more holistic with their moves. Other franchises can learn from Rose and company.
ESPN 30 for 30 on the Nova Knicks will go crazy!
Fux it its dolans money, we needed og back
Most of those 5 1st round picks basically early 2nd round picks cos they so late
Its clearly overpay for OG and Knicks knew they will need to overpay
OG is worth the money.. you'll see.
If he can stay on the court. He was getting that money somewhere. He is a great role player.
He's bigger than a role player. He just needs to stay healthy, and he will easily be worth the money 💰
@@davidburke2453he’s not a role player. Hopefully, the training staff can work with him and provide better maintenance plan to stay healthy. His play reminds me of Scottie Pippin, as he can guard all five positions, he can shoot the threes and very athletic. His help and team defense is the best on the Knicks since Marcus Camby (and maybe Jarred Jeffries)! Look at the record when he was on the team since the trade. Very impactful player. Remember, he asked Thibs to guard Eemid in the playoffs.
@@dandandkl9048 Scottie Pippen! Settle down my guy. OG is an elite role player. A 3 & D guy. There is nothing wrong with that. The man can not create a shot for himself to save his life.
@@davidburke2453OG is the best wing defender in the NBA
Woukd you rather have Mikal Bridges or 5 Pacome Diadets??
My point exactly. Great trade by the Knicks
Anytime I question if a contract was an overpay I ask myself if that player would get that contract in free agency. The answer is yes, and possibly more. Great signing from the knicks and excellent trade for Mikal
When’s the last time we owned the off-season and it’s not off some flashy nonsense move
Hey does anyone remember when the media was saying 100mil is TOO MUCH FOR BRUNSON cuz he's been behind Luka and there must b another deal to justify his deal🤔🤔 watch MB b a ALL-STAR
Dadiet is a future hall of famer
He’s not even playing on the team sadly he’ll be playing in France 🇫🇷
This is New York… we’re used to paying high taxes. We got it in the little pocket. 💯
Rich just ignoring that the Knicks are only going to be legitimately good for 4 years…and that “eighteen year old” is probably not going to be that young. IF they’re middle of the league that pick is perhaps Top 15, which is actually someone in their twenties that the Knicks ARE going to need. Knicks have exactly five years to make this work. And when it doesn’t, they’ll be irrelevant for another three decades.
They’ve been irrelevant for thirty years, they had to do this, got nothing to lose
Dadiet is part of the long game. Possible 2 years in the g League unless he plays overseas. He will have his adult frame by the time he gets called up
I can see Tyler Kolek cracking the rotation and be Brunson's backup. He's pretty good and Brunson will take him under his wing and make him better.
I think the biggest thing with OG resigning and the Mikal trade is that they can feasibly keep this core together for multiple years to come, since their contracts are long term. Jalen is willing to take a team-friendly contract, and I have a feeling Julius is too. This team isn't just a flash in the pan.
Availability is so underrated this man literally misses no games the Knicka won this trade
They are all going to be lower round picks Da, Da.
In the nba picks 20-30 are usually not great thats my opinion on why they traded all those picks. The knicks see themselves second round or beyond the next few years
Oh. Nothing but a rich eisen W take. Hit it right on the mark 🏆🔥
I was shocked that the Knicks signed OG but good for them, they now match-up with the Celtics better than any other team in the east. Now I can't wait to watch the Knicks lose to the 76ers. OG my favorite Knick &their 3rd best player will make as much as Brunson &Bridges combined. NY has two years to win it all, that's their window; cuz after that Bridges, Brunson & Randle will all need new contracts. And no one cares about a 1st-rd-pick in 2031 but give it six years then we'll care. That might be the draft LeBron's 7' foot son is going pro &that pick could become the #1 pick that year. But for the next three years no one will think about or mention the draft pick NY gave up in 2031
Whoever said it’s not Leabron James! Would you trade five 1st rounders for LeBron, at this moment? I wouldn’t! The picks will all be late rounders, plus the swap with the Nets give the Knicks a better pick. This discussion shows a total lack of cap and salary understanding from Eisen and his cracked staff.
Mitchell Robinson is the starting center dude! The second and third picks will make the rotation. Tyler is a great pick, shades of JT McConnell! Dadier is a stash pick, and is still a better pick than Bronny! Why don’t you pontificate on that! The picks were accumulated to get a player they need. Bridges is the best possible pick and his contract is very good.
This goes to show that Rich doesn't understand Knicks basketball... Brunson and Randle always draw two defenders while having OG and Bridges on the wings knocking down 3s. Tyler Kolek was drafted in the second round and he will come off the bench to run the second unit... the kid is a stud. The Frenchman in the first round will never play the Garden because we need to save money to make a solid offer to keep Hartestien or his replacement.
Mikal is a perfect fit with this squad. Also his perimeter defense is not to be doubted. Wonder if this blud has ever watched any Mikal highlights…
Knicks in a BEST case scenario will be drafting long before 30. Ha! Ha! Ha!
I thought rich said something much worse than knickerbockers when I clicked the vid 😭😭
Agree with Rich, I couldn't care less how much money they spend. Ain't my money. They could give a dude a billion and I would say, "cool".
The knicks would be better off with hartenstein than michell...or randle....better keep ac and pa
Better watch how you are saying Knickerbockers there Rich.....that didnt sound right out the gate
Since taking Ewing in 85’ The best player the Knicks have drafted was Porzingis (2015). Other than him and maybe RJ Barrett (2019) the Knicks have either drafted role players or busts in the seasons they actually had draft picks.
At this point it’s best that they just trade them all away. They don’t do shi+ with them anyways. At least you know what you’re getting with O.G. Well… assuming he’s healthy which is a big “assumption” seeing how he’s missed 110 Games since the start of the 2020/2021 season. But hey I’m sure as he ages he’ll miss less and less games right?
How does this all fit ? Josh hart is not a power forward. It’s 4 small forwards + Jalen Brunson. Is Josh hart suppose to defend Zion or Karl Anthony towns? What’s the starting 5?
Divo and Hart off the bench. Mikal at the 2
IHart or Mitch.
@@lucasmartinez5703 hart is going to defend Zion? Hart is going to defend giannis? Hart is going to defend Anthony Davis ? Hart is going to defend victor wemb?
@@NayaWraphe said iHart. Isaiah Hartenstein… And God damn dude have you heard of 3x allstar Julius Randle? He plays power forward
12345? Dang man! You are middle aged. Just like me.
Og Anunoby will win championship with knicks and he will be finals mvp
The 2031 pick could quite possibly be a high lottery pick. If this kind of short sighted thinking that makes the knicks perpetually mediocre. Great take Rich. Sorry, these aren't championship moves. Who's the best player on your team? Jalen brunson? That's not going to win a championship
He ended up 5th in mvp voting despite playing almost half the season without 2 starters and dealing with even more injuries in the playoffs. He has enough to lead them to the finals.
Championship moves doesnt mean getting the biggest name. Its getting the best fit/need. Bridges adds more wing defense and 3 point shooting.
They spent most of the Giannis picks on on Bridges
In a vacuum both OG and Bridges are overpays, but both make sense for the Knicks. If he isn't moved this offseason, this will be Randles last year with the knicks.
Agreed
If the Knicks don't re-sign Hartenstein, I would play Randle at the 5. It wouldn't work against some big lineups, but it would work most of the time and would be deadly offensively.
@ortforshort7652 I think they pay Hartenstein, I think he takes a small hometown discount to get under the apron and they move Randle next off-season for a protected first and a couple seconds. He's a nice piece but he's expensive and they gotta pay Brunson and Bridges
@@colindempsey470 I would prefer to see Hartenstein back and make Randle expendable. The problem is that someone could pay him a lot more than the Knicks are able to. I'm not sure there's that much of a demand for Hartenstein at those prices, but it only takes one. And, if there is one and Hartenstein leaves, then keeping Randle might work out really well and be the best Plan B.
Both the trade and the signing would have been done if the knicks hadn’t done it so it’s not an overpay. It’s what the market demands
Lost me comparing NBA to NFL 🙄🤦🏽♂️
The New York whatttt???
The NBA once had a rule prohibiting trading more than one future 1st round pick.
It's now a rule you can't take consecutive years' first rounders which is why it's 2025, 2027, etc.
They should work on keeping their two bigs first, Celtics in 5
😂😂😂
😂😂😂
OG vs Tatum. Tatum/ but OG will do his thing
Brown vs bridges. Brown/ but bridges also will do his thing
Holliday vs Brunson. Brunson all day
Kristaps vs mitch. Kristaps because Mitch don’t score. but Mitch will lock it down.
Randle vs ?? Celtics have no one holding randle
@@Bbq643 D White? That's not how matchups work in basketball bro. Each player isn't just guarding the same guy all game

The Lopez brothers (what is the plural of Lopezes? Lopi? ) :)

Being good at basketball and having a sibling also be good at basketball isnt nepotism.
I’m not entirely sure you know what it is
What about Michael Jordan's son? He wasn't good, so he didn't make it. Definitely not nepotism.
You can’t trade picks in consecutive years and 2025 is supposedly a much better draft than 2024. That’s why no pick this year .
And the pick wont play, will be stashed because we want to save the money from his slot to try to keep IHart.
Cmon man.
